I hate those ******** commercials. The new ones have kids doing stupid things after there friends tell them to smoke pot. But the one I hate the most:

There's an old grandma sitting at a table with dinner in front of her. "Just tell your grandman you missed dinner with her because you were high, she'll understand."

I WANT TO PUNCH WHOEVER WROTE THAT!! If you are a responsible user you shouldn't be smoking if you know you have other things to do or deal with that day. Instead of generalizing all marijuana users as irresponsible people maybe they could treat some of us as normal people.

Thank you. I've always viewed those commercials as comedic. I doubt anyone over the age of twelve is really swayed by those ads. Just a question, have you seen that MADD marijuana ad with the talking package of rollies, or is it just in my area? While I like the idea of having a "smoke safely" campaign, I hate the actual commercial.

No I haven't. I used to think they were comedic, but nowadays, as I have matured, and my ways of smoking has matured, I just get irate at them.

I do find them somewhat irritating, but it helps when I see my extremely uniformed 11 year old sister tell me that those commercials hilarious, because even she knows that the information contained in them is bullshit. Then again, my sister takes after me, in that she takes everything she sees on TV with a grain of salt and has from about the age of 7.

From what I've seen however, anti-marijuana ads have dropped signifigantly over the past few years, being replaced by anti-smoking ads. I guess they decided that the fact that more kids smoke cigarettes than cannabis was a good enough reason to change their ad campaign.

meh, I didn't watch tv that often before coming to college, and I haven't really seen these ads... maybe it's because I don't really pay any attention to the commercials... but anyway.

I would like to say that there are certainly other things that, in my opinion, people could be putting their time and money into other than drug campaigns.

I would prefer to see more time and money put into improving educational funding than see an antidrug ad. I mean, I do just fine in my classes, but I wish that when I was going through the public school system that teachers had had larger budgets to buy teaching materials. However, I'm going to stop my rant on education now.

Weed actually helped me stop smoking cigarettes. Whenever I had a nicotine craving that I couldn't ignore, I'd smoke half a bowl, and within 3 days I was feeling just fine without the coffin nails.

Well, I had a few days away from home with a bunch of friends who were happy to spend 3 days totally blazed out of their minds. It was around Christmas, and no one had to work or anything, so there weren't any problems there. And I waited until I couldn't stand it anymore, and felt that if I didn't have a ciggie I'd strangle someone.

Oral fixation. I know that hurdle well, it's one of the hardest things to get over when you quit smoking. I'm so happy I quit though, best decision I ever made.

I cut back on my cannabis useage as well. I used to smoke everyday, and that was bad and irresponsible. Instead of being a leisure activity it became a daily habit, and I'm happy that I've cut back.

Oh, no! Of course they couldn't refrain from stereotyping us all as heartless and stupid pieces of trash. That'd be way too much to ask. scream
