( i wrote this a weeks or so ago for a school project, we did world war II, and I had to write 2 poems and one of my partners wrote 2 too.)
(the first)
We thought the war was over, stopped forever
The time for peace was finally here for us
We thought the treaty would never fail, never
How could we have known Germany would fuss
Or that Japan would attack us one day
Peace was at an end, life the cost
Depression gone, “make weapons for your pay”
Solders march in the thousands, so many were lost
Many young men leave just to die in the fight
The end has come for the war of the world
V-day and its glory happens far away
The Nuremburg trails let us do this right
Maybe now we can live in a dream world
Real peace will always be a tough pathway

A war was coming
What meant to stop it caused it
That we can all see
It was done in vain
Treaty of Versailles, lost cause
“Never Knew” can do harm
Germany in turmoil
Losing all they had and more
Mad at the treaty
Japan in misery
Something not meant to happen
All they had was lost
They came together
To start a war for revenge
No one could predict
They fought our brave men
Both the sides lost so many lifes
We won and we lost
it is victory
a day that never be forgotten
History written
Hitler is gone
Killed by his very own weapon
V-day has happen
the trails came too
they were Nuremburg trials
they design to be fair
so to do this right
to do this without another war
execution starts at dawn
the war has ended
something too long awaited
peace has finally come
