Story
The company of the last ship finally reach the shores of Aman. They see not the large company that was to welcome them, but a single Elf who looks battleworn. They inquire as to what has happened, and he replies:

"A great evil has come to this blessed land. It has overcome the Valar, and enslaved most of us here. Others have been corrupted and have joined with its forces. Very few are still able to fight against it, our last defense.

"I am here to greet you, then to go off in search of help from Middle-earth. We hope that the Men and Dwarves may be able to come to our aid."

The company from the last ship look at the lands around the harbor. They are damaged as if a great battle had happened. A great shadow looms over all, blackening the once beautiful Aman.

Deep within the ravaged forests of Aman, within the swirling clouds of shadow, a black tower had been raised. It towered over the haunting remains of dead trees. Around its base were the once glorious Elves, now slaves, fortifying the tower with an ever-growing wall.

As your eyes flew up the perfectly smooth walls of this tower, you would see a balcony jutting out into the black air. Upon it was the shadow that controlled the armies, the one who had lain waste to the Valar, the one who was turning the world of light into hell.

A figure stood there, decked in black robes with armor of black metal. The shadows swirled thickest about the figure, whose face and upper body could not be seen through them.

[The Role Play has started! Please alert me to any errors in my post, thanks. (this is the second time I've typed this)]

A great bird flew overhead, along the path of the Lhun. Below was a figure with pale hair, ending just above the shoulders. Over the shoulders was a brown cloth, under which were plates of bronze armor. These protected the shoulders, back and breast of the figure. Under the bronze was a skin tight shirt of grey colour. As the waist, along with more sections of loose armor, was a longsword. Under this was a brown skirt, with a quiver at one side attached to the belt. On the feet were boots that one would wear when traveling through a forest. Over one shoulder was a bow, an elvish bow. The figure was in fact that of a female elf. A hunter by trade. 'Sumayah' by name.

She walked in a tireless manner, in much the same way as the bird above flew. That bird was her familiar, an Eagle. Though not as large as its mountain cousins, it was quite large. It had a wingspan of six feet, as you would measure. Its plunage ranged from white to gold to brown. Its eyes were keen, and of a golden colour; much like those of a wolf. This creature chose to go by the name 'Trin'.

The two followed along this course until they were met with the entrance into Mithlond, the Grey Havens.

It was not as she had remembered it. The docks were nearly empty and coldly silent, and an aura of sorrow hung in the intermittent sea breeze. She was another specter haunting the harbor once filled with light and music.

“Excuse me.” She did not stop. “Excuse me, but this ship is reserved.”

She lifted her head, and before her stood Círdan, in silken robes of deep mauve. She bowed low, the hood of her grey cloak carefully shrouding her face. She had met him as a child, and had felt the instant admiration many of the Falathrim held for their lord. He raised her by the hand.

“I had hoped to find passage to Aman, but it seems I am come too late,” she said. “This is the Last Ship, is it not?”

“Yes, it is,” said Círdan wistfully. “Why have you tarried here?”

“I was searching for something,” she began, “but the time has come.”

She gazed into Círdan’s keen eyes, and pulled back her hood to reveal a mass of stark black hair and a pair of twin crimson lights illuminating her face. “Please, lord, bid me passage, for I may only find what I seek across the Sea.”

He turned to look at the lone white ship moored in the water, glistening in the pale sunlight, and he seemed to contemplate this at length. “I will grant it.” And with that it seemed that tall and venerable lord might shed a tear upon this passing, this finale to an era of wisdom and beauty.

The woman bowed and started toward the ship, and as she was about to step aboard, she turned round to see that there was not a soul in sight. Círdan had vanished as soundlessly as he had come, and Earana was left in Mithlond to return to the home of the Elves of old, and the home of her mother.

The two moved soundlessly towards the docks; Sumayah still walking, but now with a huge bird, that was in fact quite lighter than she looked, perched on her right shoulder. She walked up one, one beside the lone ship that was moured there. She stood at the end and stared at the water, which was made pale by the rays of light that shown off it from the setting sun. She went to turn and walk back down the peir when her blue eyes found the form of the only other soul in the place.

She called out,
"Hallow there! What brings you to this place as well?"

[Spelt Hello 'Hallow' there for pronunciation reasons.]

Earana stood from her seat on the ship. "Ahoy there!" she called back, climbing forward a bit. "I have come for the same reasons as you, I think. This is the Last Ship to Aman."

"Ah, as I figured,"she answered to the first aswer. To the second she replied," Is it a private ship, or are we welcome to join you?"

A cloak figure stood on the edge a forest in Aman, looking out to the shore. I hope help is on it way.

"Cirdan himself granted me passage, so I am sure you are welcome." She paused, and added, half-amused, "I hear that the remnant of the Elder Elves and our halfling savior shall be arriving shortly."

((Blargh, I've got to go.))

Sumayah moved down the peir and up to the ship swiftly. Her eyes shut for a moment and opened again after she took in this news.

"You don't say. I wonder what could have made things as such that they would be leaving for Aman. No news comes to me now of our home of old. Could something have gone ill with that land?"

She took a place up on the boards of the ship's deck, leaning back against the side. She looked at the dimming sky as she sat there in thought.

The bird had flown up and landed on her leg. She fixed her wings at her sides and gave the other elf a contemplating look.

[Aw man...]

A lone traveler was seen walking slowly up the road. His light brown hair was clipped about the shoulders and his deep green eyes were almost covered by the hood of his elvish cloak. If you looked closely you may have seen a glint of mail and a sword hilt under it, otherwise you wouldn't have seen anything peculiar about him. The only thing displayed openly was the long, curved sword strapped to his back, which looked awkward and out of place on this sullen figure.
He stopped when he reached the dock and watched the other people speaking to each other. "Excuse me, but do either of you know when this ship will leave?"

((I think sullen means withdrawn?))

Sumayah broke from her thoughts and stood up, upsetting the Eagle who protested loudly. She turned and placed both hands on the side of the ship.

She called back,
"I would imagine that it will leave once all of its future occupants have arrived."

She turned to the other elf,"Wouldn't you agree?"

[Sullen : Brooding, sulky, ect... does that help?]
PostPosted: Fri Oct 15, 2004 1:56 pm

He walked cautiously up into the ship while mumbling something about water under his breath.
((I'll wait for my next post then))

"I can no longer see that land from afar," Earana replied, gazing upon the horizon with a hint of anxiety. "I sensed something troubling Cirdan, but he said nothing of it. I supposed he had left to greet the chief players here." She smiled despite herself, at the absurdity of it all.

Sumayah whispered to herself,"Cirdan..."She looked at the male elf on the docks, and yelled to him again,"Why don't you come aboard? No sense in just standing there."

She turned and sat again, leaning on the side. The bird took up its former residence on her knee, she stroked it appologetically[sp?].
"I wish they'd hurry and come. I have a bad feeling."

"As do I..." said Earana. Turning to face the other Elf now, she asked, "Are you sad to leave?"
