hey Y'all! thought i'd make a little sanctuary for the writer inside all of us, whether that writer be big or small. please, post your material up here! however, i strongly urge you too resist in insults or condescension. As every writer is a warrior on the field of our consciouses, we must all have our weaknesses as well as strengths. Criticism should be constructive please smile

Here's an on-the-spot creative write that I did last night... it's a bit odd, mind you razz
Sun =D
I am the sun. I live in constant torment. I blinded myself with my own light last week, and I am burning myself constantly.I ever wish that i could have a break. vacate to some place cold but alas i cannot, as far too many people rely on me. I should hang myself, lest my head have no neck. I am forced to live out my long, long days in solitude. Atleast i will always be tanned.

The following short story is a World of Warcraft fanfiction, set during the events of the Shattering, caused by the arrival of the dragon aspect Deathwing.
"The world dies tonight."
Khaira shifted her gaze over towards the blind seer relaxing in his large oaken chair whose cushions had grayed out over time. It could be seen in Khaira's fear-stricken hazel eyes that she believed zealously in what the seer had just spoken. It perturbed Khaira that the seer could utter those words so carelessly, lounging in his chair as if nothing were about to happen. He had such a morbid sense of levelheadedness and rationality that it was almost disturbing. "Are you not worried, Kendric?" queried Khaira, honestly wondering how he was able to purge himself of so much stress. "I am not," replied the man aptly named Kendric. His voice was thick with age, but this fact should have been abundantly clear. He had a long beard which was as white as snow, and a surprisingly full head of lengthy hair which was also white. "Khaira, in order to live, you must abandon things such as fear." "Are you going to die, Kendric?" asked Khaira. "And don't be smart with me! You know what I mean..." "I cannot tell you that," replied Kendric, setting down the pipe which he had grasped in his hand on the arm of his chair. His wrinkled hand extended and searched for Khaira's, Khaira putting her own hand out so that he could find it. "You know that," he continued, his breaths long. "I cannot tell you who is and is not to die. While I may possess such power, it is better that people do not know." "I just want to know--" "I know what you want, Khaira," interrupted Kendric, grasping Khaira's small hand gently, treating it as if it were fragile and made of glass. "Your heart is as pure as the freshly fallen know of Dun Morogh, as are your intentions. But it is as I said, you must abandon your fears." "It's so hard to do that," replied Khaira, silvery tears beginning to well up in her eyes. "You're the only one I've ever had in my life..." "With or without me, you'll have to learn to live another day," replied Kendric with an odd smile. "Don't lose the meaning of your stay here on Azeroth. You were put here for a reason... and I do believe that reason was to make my twilight years the best that anyone has ever seen. And if you can make this old man who had thought he himself had lost the meaning of his life, I'm sure you can bring that same joy to others." Khaira smiled weakly at Kendric though she knew that he couldn't see it. "The same could be said for you," said Khaira quietly as she rested her head on Kendric's hand, the one has had grasped her hand in. She began sobbing quietly as Kendric took his other free hand and gently stroked her hair in silence.
The silence was not to last, however. Soon the heavy beating of wings could be heard outside. Within a few short moments there were screams and yells, followed by the quick incineration of buildings. Neltharion the Earth-Warder, now known as Deathwing the Destroyer, had finally arrived.
The Shattering had only begun.

Nice vignette, Neym. I like the different colours for dialogue. Might I suggest you use something more subdued than the bright turquoise next time, though? It's a little tough on the eyes. They're all listed HERE. 3nodding

Using alternate colors for dialogue has always been a quirk of mine.
I was iffy about using the cyan for Khaira. After I saw the post I knew that it was a rather bad idea. I didn't want to go back and reformat the entire post though, so I left it.
I was considering opening my own Deviantart and turning said below idea into a little series of mine. What do you think?
Oh! And thank you for the compliment. heart

I don't see why people are so hung up on their writing being dark... We're not all sunshine and rainbows here. sweatdrop Seriously, guys... If you have some writing you want to post, do it, and don't worry about whether it's dark or not.

I write dark things all the time and never care. I'll even ask other people's opinions on my writing...
By the way, Neym, loved the short piece you did. Keep it up. You too, Laminate.

Most of the poetry I've written is in my Gaia journal, 'cause nobody really looks there. So eh.
Anything "short" is roleplaying posts. Or my two short stories on DevArt. I COULD link to all the rps I've been in for the past year or whatever but that's a lot... Bleh. *scuttles out of thread*
