Share your tales of the supernatural here. Creaky stairs, cold spots, phantom apparitions. Please let us know if your story is first hand, from a friend, or a friend of a friend thing. But for dramatic effect, you may wait till the end to tell us.

Just don't post news stories, or ghost info you found online, we have a separate thread for that. If you have a long story, or one you would really like to discuss in-depth feel free to make a new post in the main subforum.

I feel I should be sitting at a camp fire... ~plays "Are You Afraid of the Dark?" theme~

Here's one, I guess:
I used to live in Harrisburg, PA, and on a regular basis, when I wasn't chillin' in Amish country, I was at Gettysburg.
It's said that the Civil War was the cause of most of the ghosts that inhabit America, and Gettysburg is the epicenter of much of the spectral activity in this United States. The site of one of the most devastating and bloody battles in American history, many a soldier, both Confederate and Union alike, met his gruesome end on this war-torn battlefield, only to return from the grave to visit the site of his untimely demise.

While on a routine excursion to one of my favorite hang outs, some castle-type thing at the top of Little Round Top, I saw the Confederate High Tide mark a couple of yards away. I turned to mention something to my brother, who happened to be with me that day (I usually didn't spend much time with him), when out of the corner of my eye I saw something move.

There, dashing through the shrubs and bushes, was a man in gray pants and a white shirt, a musket out in front of him, bayonet fixed at the end. His feet, if I remember correctly, made no noise. I watched him a moment, not even long enough for my brother to notice I wasn't looking at him, before he disappeared behind a tree. The tree was to skinny to hide the man, so, curious, I went down to check out what became of the strange man. There was no trace. Confounded, I rejoined my brother and together, we made our way up the mysterious hill.

There ya have it. My ghost story. This really happened to me, I never told anyone. I was young and afraid they wouldn't believe me, so I bit my tongue. I hope you enjoyed it. ^_^

I went to a friends one day. They were moving out. So as most people they were trying to get everything in order. There owas one problem, everytime they went into the underhouse storage area they would just get completly freeked out and run asap. Even full grown men.

So I being helpful went down there. I completly freeked out as well. the place just, as I said, "felt like a grave." Ofcourse I left the storage area as well just as quickly. When I went down there I had this increadible chill on my arms, the huges goose bumps all over my body and all my hair standing on end! I had images of people barried under the house right under me.

Well I eventually got my curage up and went back there. The second time I just kept blocking out the fact that I was feeling that way.

I got what I needed done and thought that would be the end of it. Ofcourse that wasn't.

After a few days went by I had a dream one night. It was of me getting ready to leave from my house sitting job. As I was getting my shoes on one of those suits of armor people collect was behind me and started to talk to me. It said "get out" in a female voice. I said ok, dont worry I am getting my shoes on. Then it continued to get my shoes on. As I did it got louder and louder and just repeated "get out" over and over again. Then it got to yelling. So I turned around and yell back at it. "Give me a F-in second I am getting my F-in shoes on!"

This sort of woke me up. I realized I was in bead, I heard the voice tell me to get out one more time. Then things got even creepier. I started to feel someone pushing down on my bed! I opened my eyes . The pushing got closer and closer to me. I was completly awake now and i remember seeing the clock and TV. Then it got right on my shoulders!!!!! I jumped out of my bed look to see that no one was there and ran out of the room!

I was completly frightened by the experence!

I went to sleep at a friends that night.

Nothing happened for a few days but then one day as I got home and went up stairs to go on my computer. It was at this point and time I saw some 2D white blob flowting across my room into a wall! This wasnt the last time I had to a dealing with it.

A few nights later I had another dream. I was back at my friends house in the storage room again. The a woman told me that she was killed by some sort of cult and barried under an ulter in a broken/burned down church. She then started to cry, I woke up and saw the "orb" again right there above me AGAIN!!!! I was very scared still and then it desapeared.

I dont know, but I get the feeling that the house was probably build on the grounds where that church used to be, or that was her home befor this or maybe she followed one of them home like she followed me home.

That was the last time I saw her, that orb.

Well, I have a bunch of ghost stories, because the trailer I used to live in is haunted, but here's probably the scariest one. I didn't really catch a glimpse of this ghost this time, it was my sister, but I was sitting in the exact same room, just the opposite couch, so I can vouch for how scared she was. Plus, I have seen this ghost on different occasions, this is only regaurded as the scariest instance because the ghost seemed less hostile on said other occasions.

I was sitting on the couch across from my sister Sarah, watching something on the Game Show Network. Suddenly, Sarah let out a gasp. I looked over at her, and her face had gone wide with horror. She was staring at the window behind me. After she had calmed down a bit, she told me that she had seen a dark shadow in the window. It had looked directly at her, its entire form shrouded in shadow, so much so that it almost blended in with the night sky, and it had held up something, she thought it was a knife or a weapon of some sort, but couldn't be sure, as it was blurry and also shrouded in shadow. Then the shadow had disappeared.

After seeing this ghost for myself, I can confirm that it does indeed seem to be made completely of shadow, and that it is hostile at some times, so much that upon first seeing it in its hostile state, I nearly screamed.

My friends have an old house built around 1900. It's a very nice place to be and has a nice warm feeling about it. Sometimes I get a little bit of an eerie sensation on the second floor. I'm told there is a ghost up there, the visiting spirit of the first owner of the house. He's very protective of the house and has been said to "discourage" those whom he doesn't like.

I think he likes me, but he's a little nervous about me. When I first saw him, he gave me a nervous nod. It was weird, because I couldn't see him with my physical eyes, but I could "see" him. Since then a few times I've been there, I've seen him. He watched me do a tarot reading once, and another time I saw him standing at the corner of a room and then he walked out when I saw him.

I'm told that if you can see him without seeing a physical form, or something like where you see a shadow in your peripheral vision, that you'll never see something physical like that.

I'm a skeptic and don't know whether what I'm seeing is real or just part of my really strong imagination. Either way, it is fascinating. I hope someday to really have a physical encounter that gives me more proof. Then again, I wouldn't really like to have a pissed off ghost to be my first encounter. So this is fine for now.

Ah ghost stories gotta love em I have hundreds because my parents dont believe me when I tell them there is a ghost in the house. When I first moved into my new house I had to ghosts that had taken up residence here since then it has become a sort of safe haven for wandering spirits. (I have wards and spells to deter the ones looking for trouble but that just means if they get through their stronger than usual)

Ok so the story I moved into this house four years ago and never really stayed around to long because I went off to college however when I came home for Winter Break my homecoming wasn't very welcome.

First I walked up stairs to see my sister at the bottom of the steps I said hi to my German Shepherd, Prin, then went up the stairs. At the top of the steps I absentmindedly bent down to say hi to my dog Prin only to realize when my hand went through the dog that it was a spirit. They looked almost identical. Everything was fine for awhile I would say hi to both my dog and the ghost. But I was getting freaked out because something was watching me while I slept in the basement.

A week after the dog incident I went to feed my dog and heard a menacing growl looking up there was the ghost dog baring his fangs at me, I backed off put the can of food down and he dissappeared. He never bothered me after that and later he left.

Not too long after that I woke in the middle of the night struggling to breathe looking up I found a man with his etheral hand wrapped around my neck as he sat atop me to keep me from moving. Slowly losing conciousness again I recited a quick protection spell and called out for my guardian before I passed out. The next morning I woke up with red marks on my neck and my guardian sitting in a chair by my bed.

Since I threatened to bind him and Im sure my guardian did more than threaten he's moved up to my sisters room which now if unfortunately mine, I see him from time to time but he hasnt done anything to me since.

Some years ago I was a postman. For a time I delivered the mail to a small Bedfordshire village. One of the places on my round was a hotel/resturant that had in the middle ages been a priory.I knew the head cook and often she`s be kind enough to provide a cooked breakfast for me when I`d finished delivering the mail.
On one occasion I was pretty thirsty, and she said it was ok to go through to the bar at the front of the resturant and help myself to a bottle of fruit juice.
I noticed something an indistinct greyish blur, roughly the size of a human torso moving from left to right at a slow walking pace, eventually seeming to pass through a solid wall.

Now before I said anything I weighed certain factors up.
1: It was a sunny day, a car passed by as I saw the apparition, so it may well have been sunlight reflected from the car`s windscreen catching in dust particles.

2: I had a stinking cold, it may have been mucus on the surface of my eye.

3: It may well have just been my imagination.

a few days later, while joining the staff on their tea brake the conversation turned to the paranormal.Without promting anyone so as to get a solicited responce I asked if there were any known hauntings in the village. One of the staff said "Yes, there`s the "grey man" he walks through the bar into the wall, We think he used to be a monk back in the middle ages".

So that`s my ghost story.there a several explanations for what I saw, but I`m willing to accept that it might have been a ghost.
