Sitting on her bed with her phone up to her ear like usual, Jennifer was talking to Nikolas, her boyfriend. She sighed quietly and leaned back against her window. "So, what are you up to tomorrow?" She thought for a moment, "I'll be home alone again, I think..." Her voice died down and waited to hear his reply. She loved hearing his voice, it really calmed her down at times.
She looked behind her out the window. Nothing to really see but the old camper that was still busted and broken down. She thought to herself, 'I wish he was here...' Every minute and every second, she just wanted to be with him. How she hated the distance between them, but she knew someday that would change, and that made her feel the slightest bit better.

"What the sh-.." Her voice shook as she looked at her phone. 'Did he just..? What just happened?' She had to call back, she just had to. But her phone wouldn't work. She hit her phone a few times, trying to make it work. "What's wrong with this!" Her voice cracked in her small panic and worry as she threw her phone against the wall. She jumped off her bed and onto her feet, walking back and forth in the small walkway between her bed and her dressers. What could she do?

She ran out of her room after hearing all that noise. She stopped dead in her tracks and her eyes widened. "Wh-..." She stared at whatever this thing was, more scared than she had ever been in her life. Gulping she started stepping backwards to her fathers chair. She knew the handgun was still hidden in there, right in the arm rest that opens. She had to get it, but she was too scared to move fast. Almost tripping over her own feet, she was less than a foot away from the chair already.

She screamed and jumped back onto the chair, making it rock. She threw open the arm and pulled out the handgun, aiming and firing at the creatures head until she was out of bullets. She gasped for air. "Mother ********...."

She jumped a little and felt a calm come over her. "Am I hearing things?" Her voice shook as she stepped down off the chair and pet Bucks head. She got behind the chair and tried to open the front door. Of course it wouldn't budge, the thing had been stuck closed for a while now. She went back around and looked where that creature had been. Then she looked at the broken floor boards. 'I'll have to jump...' Stepping back, she readied herself and jumped over them, landing poorly on her hands and knees. She quickly got up and looked back at her cat and dog, leaving out of the kitchen doorway.

She nodded and felt tears in her eyes. "Like what..." She went back into the house and went to the gun safe. She looked at the lock. "The combination...What the hell is it!" She slammed her fists against the cold metal safe and tried to remember, she knew it but after all this, she couldn't think straight. "Niko!" She sobbed and tried to put in what she could remember of the combination. "Five...something...twenty... This is stupid!"

Her eyes widened and quickly put in the combination. "I can...?" It opened and she grabbed one of her fathers backpacks he used for hunting, there was already a few things she'd need in there already, including a small first-aid kit. She grabbed the shotgun and all the shells and put them in. She reloaded the pistol and put on the safety before putting it in her pocket for now. She turned and looked at her cat. "So, you're staying..." Her heart felt hurt for a second and shook it off. "I'm okay, just like he said..." She ran out of the house after putting the backpack on her back and taking the pistol out of her pocket. "Come on Buck!"
