Thanks to Netflix, I finally saw "Archangel," "Avatar," and "Armageddon." I don't think it warranted a three episode arc, but it wasn't quite as bad as I'd read and heard.
I am, however, wondering why the producers chose to do this particular story. It seems to me that it was radically different than anything else that went on in the series.
What say you?

The Secoend movie tried to delve into why Immortals exist, with disastrous results. I think that this was the series attempt to shed some light on the why.

I think I agree with Kratos on this. Me, I don't think we need to explain Immortals. Aliens from another planet... Foils to evil gods... meh.
The fact that Methos protested so much, then disappeared after Richie died, I always found interesting, though. I still think it's cool to think that Methos was the first Champion, and failed. He was so traumatized that he ejected the memory from his mind, and flaked when faced with the possibility of Ahriman again.

Yeah, that's a pretty good point. I always liked Ramirez' answer to Connor about 'why does the sun come up,' etc, about the origin of Immortals and such.
However, old Man, you just reminded me to start harassing you about getting active over here again so we can finish up "Lost." Has me intrigued, and all that. smile

Yeah, I need to do a little catching up...I do remember that I flew halfway around the world at very high speeds to come save your skinny butt, so it was hopefully worth the trip. wink

Another thought that just occoured to me...
...Duncan's solution to the battle with Ahriman is a lot like the way he overcame the Guardian at the end of the Source. I thought it was interesting to consider that an 'evil' Immortal would choose power and invincibility where a 'good' Immortal would simply choose life. Neat how the Prize differs depending on who wins it.
...not that it redeemed the movie as a whole. Though Giovanni deserved to die, I'll admit.

Yes, indeed you did...
...and speaking of which, just finishec "The Modern Prometheus." Byron was a douche. If MacLeod hadn't killed him, I would have. Isn't it heartwarming when your students get along? twisted

*sigh* Yes, he was a douche. But he was my douche. I shouldn't have put Duncan in that position. I have trouble letting go, sometimes. Who would have thought it? rolleyes
