Although I haven't had a lot of luck finding others who are fans of the Vampire Kisses series, I am still a stubborn fan.

Raven Maxwell is a teenaged goth living in mainstream "Dullsville," where her only friend is Becky, a shy and unpopular farm girl. The unpopular part being about the only thing they have in common. Raven has always dreamed of becoming a vampire since she was a little girl, watching Dracula late into the night.

Now, her favorite place in all of Dullsville, the abandoned, gothic mansion on top of Benson Hill, has a new family living inside it. Small town gossip says that the family is a bunch of vampires, they never go out in the day, and the son, Alexander Sterling, dresses like the eccentric Raven rather than preppy soccer snobs. Now our goth herione is dying to find out if her dream of becoming a real creature of the night, might just be possible now with Alexander Sterling around.

Very intriguing cover!

I was at Borders a few years ago (are those still around? lol) and picked up the first book in the series. The main character was ok, but the plot was very predictable.

@music_goggles: I believe Raven was only predictable in the way she broke pretty much every rule in front of her and because she had a good heart which wouldn't let her sit idly by while someone she loved was in danger. Maybe if hadn't lived in Dullsville, where everything was so clean-cut, she would have been more unpredictable because the rules and the people wouldn't be so vanilla. Also, I think Borders is still around, but that some of the stores had to close recently.

@WhereWhoMe: I've read the first volume of the manga. 3nodding

I liked everything about this series (Especially in the club...) Except the ending. Well, I did like it, but I think it cut off too quickly. Excellent read though.

I hated the books, but that being said I liked the manga, at least when REM was the artist. In the last one when they changed artists I still liked the story but I didn't really like the art.
