Over the weekend I went to a Youth Convention with my youth group and the Preacher there (Sorry, the name left me; Pat S-something) told us about the 1 Month Challenge.
To do this challenge is simple: carry your bible everywhere with you for one month. When you go to school, work, mall, the groceries store, and so on, you must have your bible.
The whole point of this challenge is for you to show others you love God and your not ashamed.

In 1 Samuel 6:22 it says:
"I will become even more undignified than this, and I will be humiliated in my own eyes."

Before David said this he was dancing around before God with men behind him carrying the Ark of the Lord. When he finished dancing, Michal daughter of Saul told him. "How the king of Israel has distinguished himself today, disrobing!". David basically told her it didn't matter what she thought, he was doing it all for God.

Prayer
Father God, thank you for everything lord; thank you for presenting this challenge before me Lord. I know it may be challenging, but with You, Father, I can do all things. I love you so much Father. In Jesus' Holy name I pray, Amen.

I already do this.
It's constantly in my purse.

But that's a great challenge!

The point of the challenge is to get the Bible out of your purse, carry it like its your own child... or a cell phone xD

For several years I worked for the company I was with. they knew nothing of me. Later I learned more of God's Word, and realized that it really didn't matter what people thought - I should not be ashamed of my relationship with Christ. They were quite shocked when I'd pull out my Bible while rummaging around for other things in my bag for other things. I'd lay it out on the table or desk, right with everything else. I tell people 'God bless', where I didn't before. And I tell people that I'd pray with them or for them. And when approached with the idea that I could get fired? All I can tell them is that they'll do what they have to do. And so will I. If God wishes for me to stay there, it's not a problem. If I lose my job because of my beliefs, I guess it's time to move on, isn't it. lol
I'll take that challenge. It's not as difficult as I thought it would be.

This might actually be kinda hard for me, and not because I'm afraid of what people will think if I have my bible with me, but beacuse I'm on break from school and I don't ever go anywhere ( I have no social life at all sweatdrop lol) and also we'll (my family and I) will be driving alot this christmas to visit other family members and I'm already going to take my bible....I believe that this will have to be a challenege I have to save for next month, when school is back in session. Then it will be a challenge whee

Its amazing when people start talking to you about your bible.
They'll ask questions, ask for prayers,
each day will take you a closer step to God. (:

Guess I should have a go; it'll be good for me I bet. Though I have been doing smaller things ... like placing sticky note Bible verses on the very front of my diary.

Time to get to the bigger things. biggrin
