Phaedra's tongue curled a little as she had let out a rather huge yawn, her brother was asleep and she was wide awake. A full moon is out, and not a cloud in the sky could hide it's light. Stars gleamed about, as the moon lit the paths amongst the forest floor. Pale blue eyes took in the darkened scene before her, it was a wonderful night, and her brother just had to sleep. His lost is my gain, she thought with a small smile.
Shaking out her black fur, the female began her walk away from the den that both she and her brother share. Another yawn escaped, but she continued on ward. Phaedra was not sleep, far from it, it was just the fact that if she indeed stayed at the den. She too, would have fallen asleep. At least the walk was something that could stretch out her limbs, a small sneeze escaped her, causing the black wolf to turn her head a little.
Twigs snapped underneath her paws, as she slowly took a path down hill that led to a watering hole from animals alike. Maybe a swim within the crisp water would help her awake even more.

The water of the small pond glimmered slightly in the moonlight. It was a still night, for the most part, and the moon and stars reflected perfectly on it's surface, only disturbed by the occasional light stir of wind.
Gloam stood at the water's edge, surrounded by bushes as dark green as his coat. He could have been a part of a bush himself, except for the occasional flash of indigo in his fur, and the pale violet gleam from his eyes. It was a peaceful night.
He lowered his head to drink, closing his eyes in a parody of inattention betrayed by his ears which swiveled to catch the night sounds. The water was cool, clear, and clean. the edges of his mouth seemed to rise slightly in enjoyment of the flavor.
Suddenly hearing twigs snap, his ears flicked in synch to target the location. He lowered his head slowly, a jerking motion would attract more attention, and stared in the direction of the coming noise, testing the scent of the wind and finding it insufficient from the wrong direction to identify. He stared intently in the direction of the noise neverless, waiting to see what would come.

The female stumbled out out the bushes, oh yes, there was a clear path for her to take, but she felt the sudden need to go through the bushes. If other animals can do it, so could she, then again, the only ones she ever saw were those of small games. Grumbling to herself, Phaedra came out with small twigs stuck in her blackened fur, as the leaves danced in the wind.
Oh yes, even the leaves from the bushes were mocking her attempts at being an animal going through bushes. Ignoring the twigs, the female slowly made her way towards the pond, head held high, she cared not on what others thought of her. Actually she did, she just never shows her emotions to anyone, except for those close to her.

Gloam watched the female Push her way through the bushes. He personally thought her pride in doing what she wanted to do beautiful, even if it meant shoving herself through bushes and getting twigs caught in her fur.
He found it adorable in fact, having to hide a slight chuckle. All the females he'd ever known were too vain to muss their coat with sticks and twigs and fussed over the least speck of dirt.
With a friendly smile he stepped forward and gave a slight cough. "Would you like help picking the twigs from your fur?" He offered, only trying to be helpful to this dark female with light eyes like the moonlight.

She could not help but to blink rapidly at the voice who offered to help her with her twig problem. "Oh," Phaedra laughed lightly as she slowly turned and faced the male.
A small smile made itself known as her pale eyes had loked onto his violet ones. "Would you?" She laughed nervously, tilting her head forward. "That would actually help me."

Gloam's smile grew in response to her own. He moved to her side slowly and calmly, trying to settle her nerves, and delicately started picking twigs from her coat.
"Of course, anything for a lady." He said meaning to leave an open ended offer to help her if she ever needed it again.
He smoothed her fur back into place after pulling out a particularly snagged and tangled twig. "You have very pretty fur." He complimented.
((It's quite alright Raxle, I'm running a touch braindead myself, but that may just be I haven't quite recovered form the day's classes yet. xD ))

The female laughed rather nervously, her, a lady? Hardly that. "Thank you," it came out as a mere whisper. A a lovely comment, but the black wolf hardly felt like the other females that prance around.
Though the fur comment made her blush, Phaedra could not help herself as the statement "I like your eye color," rush out of her filter system before she could even blink. "What I mean was," she started to laugh nervously, it was something that happened automatically when she's nervous. "I'm sorry," came out as one big word.

Gloam rather enjoyed the others blush, but soon felt one rise to his own cheeks to match hers. "Thank you." He replied. No one had complimented his eyes before. The feeling was nice and made him warm inside, but also pulled to surface his nervousness at meeting a stranger female. He moved away finished pulling the twigs from her foray through the bushes and sat, curling his tail around his legs.
"May I have the pleasure of your name, my lady?" He asked her, "And where you were headed this night?" He added, although the watering hole within sight kind of made her answer redundant. Still, it felt more polite to him to ask, and made better conversation. He rather wished the encounter to not end, enjoying the dark female's company.

She giggled lightly, as she looked towards the water. "Phaedra," she replied with a small smile. A small sneeze escaped the female, only to cause her to laugh. "I was actually taking a stroll, and became rather thirsty upon me quest."
Her pale blue eyes went from the watering hole to the male next to her. "May I ask you yours?"

"Milady Phaedra, you have such a beautiful name. I'm called Gloam." He stood once more, and looked towards the water like she did. "Please, don't let me stop you, shall we have a drink?" He offered, half turning towards the pond and seeming to motion towards it with a paw. "Ladies first." ((forgive the shortness, please))

It was a nice gesture, and something that Phaedra herself was not use to. No male ever took his time to hang out with her, then again, she never gave it a hundred percent to hang out with the opposite gender either. The black wolf could not help but to giggle ever so lightly. "Yes, a drink would be just fine." She could not help but to smile at Golam, as she slowly walked towards the pond.
{It's okay. ><}

Gloam returned her smile and follower her down to the pond. He had already drank, so he watched her a moment. On impulse he waded a bit into the water, feeling it's coolness run over the fur uf his paws refreshingly. The ripples sent out from his paws made the moonlight quaver across the water's surface, disruption the reflection of the stars. Happily he walked around a bit on the smooth pebbles lining the pond, watching as Phaedra drank.

Was it odd for one to watch another drink? No, for her, yes. Phaedra hardly spent time around others, and had no idea on how to even act in front. It was something that she wanted to do for a long time, being around others that excepted her, but then again, she always isolated herself from them.
Another nervous giggle escaped her, as she watched Gloam from the corner of her eyes. She liked being around him, given the fact that they had just meet. But he seemed rather nice, and, well...she just plain liked being around him.
Phaedra always watched how other females were picky about their fur and such, but she had never felt the need to even be like that. Then again, she was always around her brother. The two were like two nuts in a nutshell when they were younger. Shaking her head from memories long ago, the black wolf could not help but to look up at the male. "Are you new?" A silly question to ask, maybe it was she who was the new wolf. But then again, how can one tell when one is never around?

Gloam smiled and sat down, not minding that he was still half in the water, planning to take a swim later anyways. "Milady, I'm am not new, as you can see I am full grown. But if you mean new as in new to this area, yes, I am new here. I'm a traveler you see, a wanderer."
He blushed a touch. He felt he talked too much, he wanted to impress her somehow, but he had nothign really to impress her with. he was average sized, and just a wandering loner. What did he have to present to her. Unconciously his eyes unfocused as he lost himself in thought, his gaze still directed in her direction.

Phaedra could not help but to laugh, the male was amusing, and she felt as though she had made a friend through him. A wanderer? She tilted her head to the left, pondering for a few seconds. She rarely came across others that wandered alone. She always wondered on how it felt to be free of any pack members. But then again, she was afraid to even try.
"How many places have you seen?" She could not help but to smile, her blue eyes focused on the male before her. She was intrigued by him, and wanted to learn more.
