Welcome, members, to the Murder Game---Sweeney Tood style. The game will be dark and somber, and predominantly played through RP style. I would like to make a few points and explain the rules of the game before we get started:
  • Every member of the guild is allowed in here to RP with the storyline, but you can't get killed off or vote for anyone to get hanged unless you were accepted in the Murder Game recruiting thread. You must also wait until all players have choosen their characters before you can pick one.
  • DO NOT say who/what you are at any point during the game. You can say, "I'm simply a butcher!" or "I am a candlestick maker," but you can NOT say "I am a townsperson" or "I am a murderer."
  • You are free to pick your own job, regardless of whether you're Sweeney or a non-named townsperson. If you are Mrs. Lovett, you are not required to RP as a baker.
  • That being said, you may pick your own names, but the following names are taken: Mrs. Lovett, Sweeney Todd, Benjamin Barker, and Judge Turpin. If you are assined to be Sweeney Tood or Mrs. Lovett, you must create an alias (a different name). You may create your own character or, if you're the first to the thread, have a known character name/job, such as Senior Pirelli or Anthony the sailor.
  • Announce your name and job in your first post. This will prevent people from getting confused.
  • Since a majority of the players are twonspeople who can only play during the day, daytime is from Monday to Friday, and night exists during the weekends.
  • During the weekends (aka "nighttime"), the murderers must PM eachother and decide who to kill. Each murderer must then PM me with who they want to kill. If there is a tie, I will roll a random number and whoever gets drawn will be killed. The surgeon must also PM me the person who they want to save before I post the dawn of the next day; if I do not receive a PM, then nobody will be saved.
  • During the day, all members get to post.
  • If you don't want to RP, then try your best to just continue the game by explaining how you feel and who you think the murderer is.
  • On Thursday, all members must post who they think one of the killers are. If you will not be here on Thursday, post on Wednesday. If you're not going to be here Wednesday or Thursday, please PM me with the username of who you would like to accuse, and tell me how long you plan on being out for so I can announce it to the rest of the players so they do not find it suspicious.
  • On Friday, a hanging will take place. The Judge must also PM me on Friday before the hanging as to whether or not they will allow the execution to coninue.
  • Everyone with a character (murderers, judge, surgeon) will be given a short description of their personality. Although they will create their own jobs and names, their underlying personality will still be visible. This is your only chance of finding out who you should be hiding from.

And Some Character Rules:
  • The Judge: Can only save each person once. If the same person is accused in two different weeks, the Judge cannot save them again. You may only PM me to save someone. You must make up an alias so you are not killed. You cannot be hanged.
  • The Murderers: Sweeney Todd, Benjamin Barker, and Mrs. Lovett must create their own aliases and jobs outside of what they do at night. You may PM eachother during the week, but please only decide who you want to kill during the weekend. EVERY ONE OF YOU MUST SUBMIT THE USERNAME OF WHO YOU WANT KILLED. I don't care if you all agree on the same person; you must all submit it anyways.
  • The Surgeon: You must create an alias so the murderers do not kill you. You cannot save yourself.
  • Townspeople: Everyone else counts as townspeople. You have no special abilities, and even if you survive the day, you may not survive the night. You may vote for who you want to be hanged every Thursday. You may only communicate with the other users in the thread during the day. At night, you may post only one or two posts if you'd like, but it must be about sleeping. Describe your dream, if you'd like. Or explain about how you were tossing and turning and awoke once to the shound of footsteps, but put it out as your imagination.

And now for the members and their names/careers:
  • Sweetviolenturge - Flo, the Bookkeeper - Unmasked as the Surgeon! - Hung, Day 2
  • La Huesuda - Hettie, the Nurse
  • Radeo - Mitchee, the Pediatrician/Coroner's Assistant
  • Bammbi - Mildred, the Judge - Unmasked as the Judge! - Killed, Night 3
  • Maraucus - Louis, the Coroner
  • RanmaRaj - Romeo, the Flower Seller - Unmasked as a Murderer! - Hung, Day 3
  • Mizoryluvsme - Timmathy, the Dreamer
  • X-tailerr-X - Ellie, the Bookseller - Killed, Night 2

The morning bells toll from the old churchyard as the first signs of sunlight stream from between the clouds of toxic factory pollution, already choking the sun from its throne. But even through the diluted morning rays, the bloody spectacle was visible. The tattered remains of a young man lies butchered in the gutter of a local bakery. As you walk past carefully, one question lies heavily upon your mind: with all of the recent bloodshed, exactly how long do you expect to survive?

Welcome to the dawn of the first day.

You may all begin playing now. SweetViolentUrge is going to be out until Tuesday or Wednesday, so don't bother assuming she's a murderer. Also, don't bother accusing her until she returns; she has been given immunity and cannot be killed or hanged until she returns to announce her character. Also, if anyone has any questions, feel free to PM me. Again, you are not required to RP, but you are required to participate in some way, even if it's just talking ot the other characters.

The following list of characters are ready for people who do not like to create their own characters to RP:
  • Beadle Bamford
  • Anthony the Sailor
  • Johanna
  • Pirelli

If you are not going to RP, please do not pick any of these characters. As soon as all of these characters have been choosen or if everyone has choosen their characters, I will make another post unofficially announcing it.

Also, I understand that a few of you might not have seen the movie, so you might want to create your own character. I believe it would be easier than trying to follow a character you've never seen before. xp

The Whole surrounding is filled with fear. Fear of death. Fear of being butchered by those monsters. But even at such times, Romeo wants people to smile. He's setting up his Flower Shop. But its quite weird when one thinks about it. There was a time when people used to buy flowers for their beloved to express their love. Now they're buying for their dead beloveds to express their grief....
"Take some sweet flowers, Sir" Romeo Said to a Passer by
Instead of the jolly face that the person used to have, with the grieved face he replied politely "Sorry Romeo, not today... not anymore"

They asked us to take a look at the body, but I covered my eyes quickly, it was too gruesome to look at any longer. I see death every day, diseases are common here in this forsaken part of England, but murder is a different case.
Will I see more of these horrible corpses, the poor victims of these emotionless murderers ? I hope not, I hope the murderers will be found soon and get what they deserve.

I am Hettie the nurse.

My job forbids me to not see the dead everyday. Although it makes people sick, I enjoy it. I know that most people mourn over the loss of a loved one, but I have understood the very thin line of life and death and how many people die everyday.

I am Louis the coroner.

Everyone who has already picked a character may begin RPing with eachother; you do not need to wait for the others.

I am non-participating multiple characters as needed to help continue the plotline.

My eyes were set upon the bakery, the site of Fleet Street's most recent butchering. I was lost in my own thoughts, caught in the recent scandalous murders as I attempted to return to normal life. It started with only a man or two, but now it appears as though there is a new death every night. The town appears to be caught in a frenzy.

"KILL THE BAKER!"
"NO, IT'S THE BUTCHER!"
"How many murderers are there?!"

There was a new suspect every night, and the town would call for blood before they even put the man or woman on trial. The law can only do so much in times like these. After all, ther---

Suddenly, a dozen roses are thrusted into my face---and I fight every urge to swipe them away in my sudden anger. How dare this insolent street vendor pervade my space with his wares?
"Take some sweet flowers, sir," said the florist. I recognized him immediately, and felt sorrow over my previous anger.
My wife... She would have loved these....
"Sorry, Romeo. Not today... Not anymore."

I arrive at the bakery just in time. Someone had already called for medical assistance. His body had been torn into pieces... Do we really need a nurse to tell if he's dead?
"Ah, Inspector Tormienne," said the police chief. "So glad to see you. As you can see, Nurse Hettie has been called."
"I see that very well, sir. But by God's green earth, why?"
The chief gave a deep sigh and whispered, "We were hoping this one might be a disease instead of a murder."
"Correct me if I'm wrong, but you always hope it's a disease. Meanwhile, this poor woman..." (I quickly gesture to the nurse) "...is forced to witness horrific sights any woman would not need to bear witness to." I turn to Nurse Hettie. "Miss, you have done all you can do here today. Please, go home to your family or whoever you have; protect yourself."
I turn back to the chief. "Why have you not called the coroner yet??"

I love all the children I treat, but I also love blood.
It's my obsession I must admit...

As I left my daily job at the Children's Clinic to go to my second, I ran into my colleague Hettie the Nurse. She told me about the most recent murder.
"What a shame, another murder. Who was it?" As she replied I saw a dark figure lurk into the bushes. "STOP!" I yelled, but it was too late. The dark figure had disappeared, and I had a big weight on my shoulders...

pushing his cart, Romeo roamed around the city...
"fresh flowers for blossoming love" Romeo shouted in his sweet voice
He saw quite a big crowd near the bakers
The baker being an old customer Romeo thought of investigating
He walked a little further "wtf, that was my customer... Who the hell did this gruesome act"
Romeo didn't notice that all eyes were now turned towards him

"Haven'tcha herd? There's a-murderin' goin' 'round!" Exclaimed one of the female crowd members.

"It's the butcher, I tells ya!"
"NO, it's a'baker! I kin smell the death upin thus 'moke!"

The crowd errupts again into the previous argument that plagued them before Romeo spoke.

"its the inspector... He was a useless person before this started... He's doin this to add meanin to his life" Romeo said... He just wanted to join the crowd

Looking around at all the chaos and commotion going on, I just didnt know what to say. Not much of a talker, I attentively listened in on the crowd. I uncomfortably overheard them talking of the murderer and the dead. It was like stepping into my own horror storybook. I want to escape into a different book, but Im finding it harder and harder the more I try. Business is slowing due to all the other people getting caught up in this ugly murder business. Too much stresses and worries; why cant things just go back to the way things were before?

The inspector arrived and started talking to the police chief, he seemed to get angry, he looked at me and said "Miss, you have done all you can do here today. Please, go home to your family or whoever you have; protect yourself." Well that's easier said than done, usually at this time I would be making my walk from fleet street to aldersgate street visiting the sick, but this has been cancelled, after dark all the doors are locked now. What should I do ? I can't just go home, sitting inside drives me crazy. I'll take my walk anyway.

I rushed out of the small bookstore i own when i saw the townspeople circled around something on the ground as i got close to them i could hear the murmurs and finally i saw what was on the ground, a torn apart dead body. i gasped and almost threw up my lunch. what a sick sight! who could be so horrible to do this to someone.
i heard what the inspector had said to hettie and i took the inspectors words very serious " any leads on who this monster could be ?" i asked looking for anyone who could answer me.

Srew it; I'm just going to be doing events in this post to keep things rolling.

"The inspector?? Could it have been him?"
"No, fa the las' time, iz thuh Bakah!
"It mighta bin him..."
"Where were you, sellin' flowers when this happened?? Cuz it happened at night, and I doubt you were. What's your excuse??"
"IT WAS THE STREET VENDORS!"
"No, it couldn't have been him! It's Romeo, not some random street vendor! We all know him!"
"I agree, it couldn't have been him... Not Romeo..."
"IT WAS HIM!"
"No, he said it was the inspector."

You have been given your wish... You are now included in the crowd. Naturally, they accuse you. But they've been accusing everyone, so don't take it too hard. Perhaps you should try a different approach...

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

A random stranger walks into the bookstore off the corner of Fleet and Westbrook. He looks back and forth shadily, and, noting that the store's owner, Ellie, was a million miles away, pockets a small book. He manages to get out of the store before the bookseller notices...

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

As Hettie walks back home, she hears footsteps slowly coming closer. Who is it?

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"We don't know yet, Miss," said the police chief, after realizing the crowd was too absorbed with blaming Romeo to notice the young woman's question.
"Actually, I have a few ideas, but I believe it might not be best to tell a woman such as yourself: you'd put yourself in a faint. But I plan on slowly questioning everyone in the area about their alibis to find out for sure. Since your shop is across from the scene, do you mind if I ask you a few questions?" The inspector asked. He flips opens his notepad, and does not wait for a response. "Where were you last night between 6pm and 5am?"
