Narcissism is the personality trait of egotism, vanity, conceit, or simple selfishness. Applied to a social group, it is sometimes used to denote elitism or an indifference to the plight of others.

People who think they know everything and are better than everyone else make me sick, i dont use the word hate often but i HATE people like that, i just wana punch em in the face.

Some people who are narcissistic are definitely like that. But one person that I know isn't. Actually I enjoy his company very much. There is such a thing as HEALTHY narcissism. Meaning it's good to have self love. He does get a bit conceited but who doesn't? So while I can agree with the loathing you feel for that type of person I must also disagree due to my knowing of someone who is better than that although he is known as a narcissist.
