Wind was sitting on a stump sharpening a knife. Lately he had a lot of time to think. He never really envisioned his life to end up like this. He had thought he'd travel the world alone, but he had somehow picked up Athena along the way. That wasn't so bad, but then she laid an egg. Their egg. Things had gotten a little more complicated with a kid. He wasn't really the family man type. Now that kid was an adult. Time seemed to have slipped by.
The young male watched his father from a distance. He had learned a long time ago that when his father went off like that it was best to leave him to his own thoughts. Still he was restless. Getting up he made his way towards his father.
Wind had heard his son coming up behind him, but didn't look up. That boy was too noisy when he walked. He never learned anything of stealth. When his son had finally stopped he still did not look up. "What do you want, Ares?" he questioned as he ran his thumb along the newly sharpened blade, making a small cut.
"I want to fight you." Ares said with a stern look on his face.
"Don't joke. I'll whoop your a**. You know few moves, but that doesn't mean anything." the older male said, still refusing to look at his son.

Athena was sitting up in the tree above Wind, knowing that her mate was aware of her presence but probably not their son. She sighed and shook her head. 'He should know better...He watches his father and I spar all the time' she thought to herself. She hopped down from the branch and stood in between Ares and Wind. "You still have much to learn, and remember what your father and I always told you; You never fight someone until you are sure that you will win!" she hissed out.

Ares furrowed his brow and frowned. "I am sure," he said sternly. "I bet I could even take you both on at once.
With a sigh Wind stood up and finally allowed his son a look. "Fighting one of us would be a bad idea, boy, but both of us? You'd be dead before you can touch either of us." he said as he glared at Ares.
Ares looked at his father and then his mother. Finally he took a step back and raised his fists. "I'm better than you think I am. I'm not some little kid anymore. I'm older than either of you when you started fighting and you two have trained me while no one trained you." he said. He had been hoping for a long time to challenge his parents. He never thought either of them really appreciated his skill.
"Don't get so cocky! Just because your my son doesn't mean I'll go easy on your a**!" Wind snarled. Then he rammed the knife into the tree Athena previously had occupied, the force making a few leaves fall off. Stepping forward he put a hand on his mate's shoulder. "Let's give him a lesson in arrogance."

Athena smiled at Wind and nodded her head yes. "I'd be glad to~" she said. "But lets try not to whoop his a** too hard." she added with a laugh. She looked to Ares and shook her head sadly. "I hate to see our son enter a fight he can't handle, but I can't pass up the opportunity." She stopped to think for a few seconds. "Lets make this interesting..."

Ares smirked. He was finally going to be able to prove himself. His tail swished behind him as he watched his parents. Both were tricky and no way he would deny that they were good.
Wind cracked his knuckles and grinned maliciously. "Oh this is going to be good. Don't worry, boy, we won't kill you." he laughed as he circled around his son.
"You won't get the chance to!" Ares said as he turned to keep both his parents in his sights.

Athena smiled. "Well, how about we make a bet?" she asked. "If Wind and I beat you, you will sharpen our weapons...all of them." She smiled and held up her tail. "It's getting pretty bad. I'd be surprised if I could even break paper." She grinned and waited to see what his side of the bet would be.

"Fine! But if I win you both have to treat me like an equal warrior!" Ares said. Mom's tail won'ts be too bad. She just admitted to it being dull and she wouldn't use her venom on me. Dad won't hesitate doing anything shy of killing me or putting me in a coma. I'll have to watch for Mom's agility. he thought as he began to formulate a plan.
"That's all? What a waste of a bet. If by some slim chance you could beat us both I would have given you that anyways. Oh well, too late to change that now." Wind said before rushing towards his son. He balled up his fist and aimed for an uppercut.
Ares was able to quickly doge it, but by doing so left his lower half unguarded.

Athena laughed when Wind confronted her bet. "I said that he had to sharpen all of our weapons." she remarked. "Including your collection." She ran forwards along with Wind, taking advantage of her son's vulnerable lower left side. She swung her tail to his left leg, aiming to trip him.

s**t! Ares flipped over to avoid his mother's tail and tried to kick his father at the same time.
Wind grabbed his foot and yanked him towards the ground. "You're not focused!" he laughed.
Ares slammed against the ground and grimaced.

Athena smiled at Ares. "It's not too late to back out now." she said. She walked up to Wind, practically draping herself over him and knowing that their stubborn son was too full of his own pride to take the offer. She yawned boredly, pretending to be falling asleep in her own boredom.

"I won't give him the chance to back out." Wind said with a smirk.
With a growl Ares jumped up to his feet again. "I'm only getting started!" he spat as he took up a fighting stance.
"Pretty bad start." Wind laughed as he watched his son. "Tell you what, I'll let you have the first shot, this time. I'm feeling generous."
"Don't patronize me!" Ares snarled. Then he bent down and bolted between his parents. As he did so he grabbed his mother's tail and tried to throw her into his father.

Athena felt her tail being tugged on, and she spun around and lifted one of her legs, hoping for a kick to the face. If she wouldn't succeed, she would put her leg on the other side of her tail so she would be facing Ares.

Ares quickly let go of his mother's tail and dropped to the ground to roll on his shoulder. He hadn't really expected for that move to work so he was already planning to bail when his mother swung her leg around.
Wind went to grab Ares, but was a moment to slow before his son dropped to the ground. He himself had to be careful to avoid Athena's leg as it swung around.
Ares rolled off to the side and then quickly hopped back on his feet before yet again rushing at his parents. This time he tried to knock over Athena as she regained her balance.

Athena felt him let go of her tail and fall over, and she watched him get up and charge again. She yawned boredly and stepped to the side to let Wind take care of this one. She had to share the fight with her mate, for it wouldn't be fair to deprive Wind of the fun. Athena saw Ares run towards her and figured that it would be a good distraction for Wind to strike.

Wind simply reached out and slammed Ares into the ground by his head. Then he swung around and sat down on his back. . . hard Looking down at the young male he said, "If rushing at us didn't do anything the first time why would it do anything this time?" Then in a flash he was off of him and hog-tied him with his scarf. Standing up straight he brushed off his hands and sighed.
"That was hardly a workout at all. I knew you wouldn't be a challenge, but I still thought we taught you better than that. Oh well."
Ares growled and struggled at the bonds. He was practically boiling. No! It can't be over! Not yet! he thought as he continued to struggle. If the adrenalin from the fight hadn't been pumping through him he might have realized that what he was feeling wasn't really anger, but deep shame.
"Untie me! This is dirty! Tying someone up is cowardly! If you really want a work out why tie me up?!" he shouted angrily. This fight couldn't end. Not yet.
"Would you prefer I break your legs? Stop screaming and cool down. You're nowhere near our league yet." Wind said. Then he turned to Athena. "Sorry to cut the fun short. I just didn't see any point to toying with him." he said.
