The Menos (Spanish: "Minus") are the military force of the Hollows. It is operated by Arrancar, who take command over lesser ranked members, as well as dominate the weaker willed Hollows and Menos Grande to follow their orders in battle. The Menos Army can be broken into three tiers, ranking their power and control.
At the top are the Espada, which Rank from one to ten, and act as the generals of the army. Their power is indicated by their number, with one being the most powerful, and central leader of the entire army, while ten is the lowest ranked in power, but still superior to all others.
The Privaron(Spanish: "Deprived") are second, being former Espada who have since lost their rank to stronger members, and have been demoted. They are assigned numbers that are three digit, to differentiate them from others, and are sent to live in Tres Cifras (Spanish: "Three Numbers")
Finally are the Numeros (Spanish: "Numbers"). Unlike the others, their number rankings are their birth, rather then their power, with eleven being the oldest non-Espada in terms of when they became an Arrancar, rather then physical or historical age. They are often taken under the control of Espada, becoming known as Fraccion (Spanish: "Fraction") and serve a similar purpose to Squad members for a Shinigami Captain. An Espada hand picks their Fraccion, and can have as many as they want, or none at all, depending on their preference.
