Locations
In General... Pasaid is a fantasy world set somewhere in the late 1500's to the early 1600's. It is its own country, but it is not of Earth. The people of Pasaid still have yet to explore all of their vast expanse of land, they are only aware of their neighboring countries. They've yet to branch out and find out what may (or may not) be out there. Modern technology does not exist, which means there are no cars, spaceships, cell phones, computers, etcetera. No one is texting each other on Blackberries and iPhones. This also means your character cannot be futuristic. They are slightly industrialized, though; for example, there's iron mills, and homes are a little more elaborately crafted. Some necessities are lacking in certain areas of the country; i.e. Diohbell isn't very fertile, and the inner parts of Veidhlinn don't get enough meat. Not all locations are the same in what they have and don't have. There are many villages scattered around the land, along with castles, dark forests, and the like. Read on to find out the specifics of these places. Regions are separated by color. ----
Veidhlinn (Veyd - Linn) Northwest Pasaid. Known for its music, mainly.
Orco Theatre (Ohr - Coh) Most famous theatre in Pasaid, where some of the best plays are held.
Polosci Boulevard (Pull - Le - Sigh) Located right next to Orco Theatre, and it's not there by chance. It's more of a marketing strategy; If someone's waiting for a show to begin, they might pass the time by coming here. If they've time to spare afterward, they might decide to do some shopping. Because of this, these little "mom and pop" shops are usually in pretty good shape economically speaking.
Lennaye's Academy of the Arts (Len - Aye) One of the few schools in Pasaid. Covers art, music, theatre, etc. ----
Athreigh (Ath - Ray) Southeast Pasaid. Largest region of Pasaid. It's a very important location on the map. It's where the main castle is located, where the rulers of Pasaid reside. If damage were done to it, it would impact villages and towns all across the land.
Ionad Bay (Eye - Oh - Nahd) Largest bay in Pasaid. Very big when it comes to shipping and trading.
Cliath (Clee - Ath) Main Port town of all of Pasaid. Located right on the edge of Ionad Bay. Many ships pass through to import and export goods here. A large portion of these goods go to Glasaile to be sold in Trachtail, and the rest is sent all throughout the country.
Abriene Castle (Ay - Bree - Enne) Largest and main castle of Pasaid. The King and Queen, the prince/princess, their advisors, and any other workers for the royal family reside here. It's where laws are created and plans are made. It also harbors the training grounds; where military officers and soldiers go to hone their skills in fighting and even magic.

Calendar
January 1st - New Years. Yes, they celebrate too, with parties and festivals and plenty of gin all across Pasaid.
February March
April
May
June 5th - Festival of Lights. It's when the fireflies come out and illuminate the nighttime. Firefly-catching contests are held for the younger ones (up to age 14). The winner receives a trophy, and later on all of the fireflies caught are released at the same time. For the older ones (15 and up) a dance is held, which usually takes place all around the villages.
July 17th - Festival of Peace. Celebrates the founding of Pasaid. There's much music, games, dancing and the like. Violence is strictly forbidden on this day; they forget about their negative feelings, and make their common goal to have fun and be as carefree as possible.
August
September
October October overall is a month of fright. Villagers believe the darkest of spirits are set loose on the first day and will terrorize the village until the 30th. 31st - Day of Relief. The demons are gone, and the people of Pasaid are able to relax after a month of tension.
November
December 1st - Celebration of Snowfall. The residents of villages get together and mingle for the daytime. It's like a big potluck, every family brings something. When nightfall comes, they gather around a large bonfire and sing songs. Villagers believed that through this, they're calling for the snow. While it's been proven it doesn't exactly work like that, the tradition stayed. After they sing, they swap stories and adventures around the fire. 25th - Festival of Giving. Basically Christmas for the citizens of Pasaid. Presents are swapped, families have a grand feast, etcetera. It's a day of happiness and love.

History
The founding of Pasaid determined when "B.C." ended. On July 17th, Year Zero began. Any time before that date would be considered "B.C." to us. Note that there is no "Before Christ" in Pasaid, though, because for the most part the country is polytheistic. (Also note that religion does not play a huge factor in Pasaid) Around 500 years have passed since Year Zero. The current year is 504, which would be 1604 developmentally in our years. Knowing this, here is a timeline of events in Pasaid.
Year Zero July 17th: Nomads founded Pasaid. Their travels are written on stone tablets that were lost long ago, so how they got there was unknown... At least, for now it's unknown. These nomads created the first settlements in Athreigh, and as the population grew it spread all over the country.
Year 484 An "underground" war was being waged, the King did not want the country to be in panic and the enemy country did not need the use of epic armies. They fought with pure strategy. They sabotaged anything which exported and threatened or killed important foreigner tradesmen. They were also elaborate enough to begin a slaving ring within Pasaid, and for years they attempted to corrupt officials. Most of Pasaids officials are strong willed, though, and remained loyal to their side. The enemy broke the morale of soldiers and the spirits of the countrymen. Little did the enemy know that Pasaid held an arguably greater power than they, Love. Despite the country spiraling down into hell they still held the peace festival that 17th of July, that rendered the enemy in a state of lunacy. So they finally initiated a full fledged attack on the King during that festival, most of the soldiers were taking it easy leaving the King less defended. It was quick, quiet and efficient, most of the deadly assassins were killed before they could find the King in the castle. Finally 5 highly trained assassins had discovered the King only to be protected by a single knight, the first commander of the army and the Kings best friend. They had underestimated this Knight, as he was the one who had been killing off their men in the field, and following them in the shadows reverting their damage. Within a short fight between 5 of the most talented assassins and the best Pasaid Knight the victor lay to Pasaid. Although the Knight had taken a fatal wound, he saved the King, saved Pasaid, saved his best friend. The Knight had been given the greatest of awards and a royal burial. Though the details of this underground war only be told in the shadows, the facts are clear that Pasaid had almost been destroyed from within, and that our humble King does not take it for granted.

Social and Political Systems, and Organizations
The Social system... The social system is very much like a pyramid. There are four levels, each with different sections of people based off income and beliefs. Level one: Royalty & Co. The highest level. This consists of the king and queen, their family, the king and queen's advisors, and other major figures helping run Pasaid. This level also includes the military. Level two: Business Owners Second highest level. This level contains, for example, captains with major fishing businesses, big builders creating many of the boats used in transport, and farmers with large agricultural businesses. Level three: Villagers, Peasants, and Regular Citizens Third highest level. Exactly as the title says. The majority of the population is on this level. Level four: Thieves, Gang Members, etc. Lowest level. Basically people that aren't productive towards supporting/improving Pasaid belong here.
The Political system... There is a King and Queen, both equal in power, that run the country with their advisors. Their son/daughter then becomes the next King/Queen of Pasaid, regardless of gender. The King and Queen are only allowed one child; and so far that hasn't posed any sort of problem. The heir's spouse is chosen with the help of the previous King and Queen's advisors. They are not forced into arranged marriage, but if the advisors do not agree with the heir's decision, they can prevent the marriage from happening, and will help the heir move onto someone else. Advisors are chosen through a mixture of the King and Queen's decisions and the vote of the people. The King/Queen to be chooses ten possible candidates at age 17, and their people vote for five of them. When they get married, the process repeats for their spouse. These advisors hold their position until the heir their King/Queen produces comes of age and the crown is passed onto them. If the heir is not married at that point, the advisors help them find a bride/groom before stepping down from their position. People are able to run for an advisor as many times as they want. Once these advisors are chosen, they each choose an assistant to help them help the King and Queen.
Organizations
THE ORDER A group created a few years ago by a man named Aryn Geordan. Over time, this group has grown rapidly in size. There are at least 100 loyal members. The Order is dissatisfied with the current monarchy Pasaid has created- they want to throw the Lorannes out of power and establish an oligarchy comprised of The Order's leaders. These people will do anything to get their voice heard- mainly through violence, i.e. destruction, massacres, et cetera. They feel that violence is what will really make people listen to them; it shows they have power, and they aren't afraid to use it.

Neighboring Countries
Alden A neighboring island about half the size of Pasaid. Currently they're in a state of nature, with no political government set up. It's survival of the fittest; the strongest come out on top, and the weakest, well, they don't do so well. The strongest family is currently Grip's; A small group of bandits who run the country using fear as their tactic. Their word is automatically law. Grip, the leader, currently has his eye on Pasaid. This means the entire country has its eye on Pasaid... Which can spell trouble.
