No one seemed to notice the presence of an odd visitor in the district - a momonga, a Japanese dwarf flying squirrel, gliding about from building to building along the streets of Ukyo-ku. Why would they notice such a small creature? To the unobservant passerby, it was just another sign of humanity's encroachment on nature's domain. Had any of the silly, busy humans bothered to follow the mammal, however, they would've noticed an odd purpose in its movements. It almost seemed as though it was following someone.

That someone was a middle-aged salary-man, nondescript by today's standards. The disguised Kitsune wasn't looking for a challenge today. Hakkou knew this type of person well. Quiet, reserved, single. It was always the single ones, it seemed. Couples were much too difficult to bother, since at least one was always up and about. He probably could've managed to do something minor, such as throw all of the couple's toilet paper out into the street, causing quite a bit of discomfort when someone used the restroom only to realize the toilet paper was gone, but he wanted something different today. He wanted to do something big.

Hakkou continued along his convoluted path, brown 'wings' flickering as he glided about, not worried about concealing himself.

Wait. There was something - Hakkou's tiny mammalian head whirled about as he suddenly had the eerie feeling he was being watched, and sure enough, he was. He had garnered the attention of another Kitsune. For a few seconds the momonga watched, his nose twitching. Wait, had he been doing something?

...Where was that human? He turned back and realized the salaryman was gone. Dammit! He'd just gotten distracted for like...two seconds and now he'd gotten away! And it had been all that stranger kitsune's fault! Suddenly he glided down to the street below, but before touching the ground the form of a kitsune appeared from the tiny creature. It was small, slightly larger than a child, but clearly not at its full size. His pelt was a stark contrast to the stranger's orange - Hakkou's fur was white, except for intricate, neon green designs that traced their way across his body.

He barked to the other kitsune, "Hey, you!" The chibi-Kitsune's voice clearly indicated irritation.

Hakkou's tail puffed up. Why, you..! "I am adorable all the time, thank you! What would you know, you big tangerine!" He huffed angrily, causing a small hitodama to circle the bigger Kitsune's head. "If it hadn't been for you, I could've followed that guy home and...I don't know, done something fun!" By now his prey had scampered out of sight, frightened by the Kitsune that appeared to be following him, and some of the passersby were beginning to stare at the quarreling pair.

"Hey! Hey! Why are you laughing!?" By now Hakkou's fur was all puffed out and she looked reminiscent of some sort of green and white puffer-fish. But as the Kitsune continued to cackle, wiping at his maw comically, the smaller female couldn't help but snerk. No, she did not laugh - but hey, any sort of smile was more than most Kitsune tended to get out of her. That and him saying that she was adorable had appealed to her vain nature.

Still, her eyes held a slight apprehension as she answered his question. "Hakkou, from Takahama, Fukui." She paused, looking about. The humans had gone back to whatever they were doing, seeing that tensions had calmed. Wait! A mischievous look crept over her face. "You know, that human couldn't've gone far..." Maybe this Shouga could help her with her prank? And besides, there was more than one lonely, hard-working guy in Ukyo-ku.

((Wow. Wow, wow wow. xD I didn't realize that Hakkou was female. Oh well, it won't change her personality any. And yes, I have a friend who makes sort of a 'fffffft' noise when he laughs. It's funny. ))
