Martial Arts

This is where you learn to defend yourselves in human form, if you don't have a monster one. This is essential for those of you, who spend most of their time in Monster form.

Students:
Vivian Corona
Vergil Sparda
Dante Sparda
Mana Kalm
Ilvesta
Adolin Ladue
Revan Ragnall

Gondgaur wandered into the room with a sour look on his face. He had to teach two juniors and a senior about martial arts. They had better hope they knew a little about it at the least. Otherwise, life would be hard for them in this class. He didn't care that his room was dull and lifeless. This was not the place to teach students about Martial Arts. He would take them to his place of training. It was where he had been taught and where his master had been taught and so on.

The moment Ilvesta walked into the classroom, she knew it was going to be a bad year. An oh-so familiar stench filled her sensitive nose, making her fur stand on end.

Werewolf.

She hesitated, regretting leaving her blades in her dorm because of the school's anti-deadly-weapon ban. Then again, with her tight dress, it wasn't like she could hide it anywhere. She threw an amber glare at the teacher, from whom the irritating stench was radiating from.

"... this is the martial arts class?"

When Ilvesta layed eyes on her teacher there was an almost wild glint in his eyes. His face looked like he didn't care much for disrespect and his body made it clear he had been doing this for years. "Yeah, you got a problem with that kitty cat?" Gondgaur nearly snapped at the young lady. It's not that he didn't like students. He just simply did not tolerate disrespect. Those who disrespected how he taught would receive the harder training exercises immediately.

"No problem at all." Ilvesta replied with a frown, averting her eyes. As much as she hated werewolves, this school was renowned for the best classes in the Underworld, even their martial arts. So if the best in the Underworld was a werewolf, then damn it, she was going to learn something from this mangy mutt. She secretly hoped he would be a flake so she could kick his a** herself, yet another really did want to learn.

But she would never let him see that, through her stone cold facade.

Gondgaur stared at Ilvesta. It was as if he was trying to peer into her soul. He wondered if there really wasn't a problem for this cat. He knew of the conflict between werewolves and werecats, but he hadn't been a part of that conflict for the last five hundred years. He had changed his mind about the conflicts a long time ago and had extracted himself from werewolf society long since then. He no longer cared about what opinions they had or carried even now. All he wanted to do now was find pupils that would be able to replace him he if died.

Revan appeared in the classroom silently, trying to seem like he had always been there. The teleportation power he possessed made no sound or left any tell tales signs; he simply 'popped' into the room instantly and without warning. He didn't care much for actually attending classes. He did well, keeping honor roll grades, despite his rare appearances in the classrooms, and was already in his senior year. Just one more school year, and he could bid adieu to the Academy, and move onto his calling in life. He was a being that existed to keep the fabric of reality under watch, and when he assumed the position, the full of his powers would be revealed to him. Even he had no idea what that entailed, but he was eager to discover it. Let's just get this class over with. I don't expect there is much I can learn from it.

Mana walked in the room. She stopped and looked around. When she noticed Revan she smiled. She thought he was cute of course. She walked up to Revan.
"Hello... Im Mana Kalm, what is your name?"
Mana Looked at him looking top to down. She smiled again.
"Nice red hair. Did it take long for you to grow it?"

Gondgaur took his eyes of the potential troublemaker and moved them to the two students that had just arrived. One appeared he did not care for this class and possibly thought he would pass it with ease. Well, this little demon would soon realize that his class was not easy. Nor would he make it easy on him, as well as the others. Troublemakers would suffer one hundred times worse if they even dared to cross him. He looked to the freshman girl that had just arrived. It looked like that half his class arrived. He decided he would now start getting names from these students who thought this might be an easy course.

"Alright you three. Sit down and listen up. In my class, there will be no bickering or arguing. If you have problems with each other then you must resolve it in a one on one fight. Otherwise, you will do as I say or fail. Martial Arts is not for the faint of heart nor the weak willed. If you expect to come out of this easily, then you should either leave now or prepare yourself," Gondgaur said in a very firm tone. It was almost as if he was trying to scare them or goad them into staying. If you were a student, then you would not be able to tell easily.

There was one thing that caught Revan's interest about the school. It was all the lovely, beautiful women he met on a daily basis. He was the type to flirt and tease, and when Mana introduced herself . . . well, she was just asking for his attention. Her comment about his hair made him lower his head just a bit, to make his long crimson locks seem all the more longer, while he managed to keep eye contact with her. "Time is a tricky thing to determine. A day here can be a month in another dimension. Suffice to say it has been some time since my hair began to grow this long." He explained, before finally introducing himself. "Revan Ragnall." For those who did their research, his name was notable; he was of royal blood amongst his race.

Gondgaur began his instruction with intimidation tactics. It was to be expected; martial arts were a powerful weapon not to be wielded lightly. Revan had trained for many years, looking to incorporate his powers and hand-to-hand combat together to form a fighting style only possible for his race. In his mind, taking the class was an easy credit, even if the teacher wasn't looking to make it that way. Perhaps in an act of defiance, or just arrogance, Revan let out a small yawn, as if to say he was bored with the instruction provided.

When the senior let out a yawn, Gondgaur grew a smile, and he said, "So, you must be the renowned Revan. I was told by your father that you are a prodigy of your race." He wondered how Revan would react when he heard that Gondgaur knew his father. "Now, I don't care if you're a prodigy or if you have never even heard of martial arts before. This class will be the hardest you will take or will ever take. Physically and mentally as well I believe. Most of all, do not take my training methods lightly. If you do, you will most certainly regret it," Gondgaur grounded out the last few words as if he was making sure he made his point. Seeing that the young demon was still cocky, he smirked, and said, "Tell you what Revan, if you think you can lay a hit on me in one minute you pass. If you don't, you must do all that you can to pass this class."

To think that the instructor would know his father wasn't that much of a surprise. His father knew many people, so Revan simply figured it was another case of casual acquaintance. However, the knowledge that the teacher knew his race meant his attempts to use his powers to acquire the hit needed for the challenge being placed before him. There was no real reason why he should have accepted the challenge at all . . . except for his own pride. Not accepting was as good as saying he wasn't capable of besting the man. Getting a position like his wasn't mere chance. He obviously must have considerable skill, and likely abilities that play well into his field. Still . . . to not accept that challenge is to disregard my own efforts. Resolved to show his capabilities, even in the form of a cheap shot, Revan vanished from sight, teleporting into another realm. When he returned, without a sound or signal of his reemergence, he was already in mid-swing towards the back of his teacher; he had started the punch before teleporting back, to make dodging it even more difficult.

The minute his student had disappeared, he knew what had happened. Breathing deeply and letting his senses and instincts take over, he waited. The instant he heard the wooshing of his student's fist, he very quickly leaned so far forward that his head was almost touching his knees. It almost looked like he would strain his back, but it didn't. This would cause his student to fly over him and hit the wall. Gondgaur stood up and said, "Do you wish to continue? I would advise not, now that I have seen what you can do. Cheap shots will not work on me. I have been in training for far too many centuries to bested by such a tender youth such as yourself."

The forward momentum of his swing was not as severe as one might expect; he wasn't swinging with blind force, but precision. He was easily able to right himself, as one would expect of a properly trained martial artist. "Youth . . . there it is again. That concept of time, which is so difficult to properly put in place when time moves differently in different realms, and appearances are deceiving." He simply wanted to imply that while he may have looked seventeen, and indeed, that was how many years had passed on earth since he was born, he was a demon, and lived on a plane of existence where time moved much more quickly. As a sign that he planned to continue, he thrust an elbow backward, towards the face of Gondgaur, while pivoting on his foot; he expected another dodge from the teacher, but when that happened, Revan would be in a defensive stance in front of him, ready to show his skills were more then just cheap shots.

Gondgaur, instead of dodging, slapped the elbow thrust so that it would harmlessly pass by the air above his shoulder. Gondgaur smiled as he watched this young one. He had not seen so much potential in so long that he was very impressed. This student just might be the one to surpass him in the martial arts. "You're no slacker. However, if we continued this it might turn ugly. If I let this continue the headmistress will most certainly get on my case. I'll let you have another shot at me when we move to the training facilities I have set up for the class," Gondgaur said because he knew what would happen if he continued this fight to it's eventual conclusion.
