Place: Vicus Lupus (correct me if I'm wrong) Time: Medieval period Plot: The village was founded by a werewolf named Artaius Coldclaw, who, along with his followers, settled in the middle of the wilderness in hopes of avoiding human persecution. For fifty years the Vicus Lupus, or Village of the Wolf, has flourished. The land is fertile, wildlife and game plentiful, and the waters crystal clear. The only humans to have been seen in half a century were mere travelers, simply passing through and easy to trick. The wolves were at peace. Were being the key word. Unfortunately, a strain of gold was discovered in the mountains, bringing humans with it. Many fear the worst, for all know that human greed, once kindled, is insatiable. How long will it be before the river is crossed and their secret found out? Extra: I drew a map! 8D  Village layout:  Map key: werewolf villagehuman village *think of a name! Mountains = ^ Mine = black dot in the mountains... (might move it to werewolf side...)

« Lief Wind » The wind blows in your direction, Liefs orbs scanned the oncoming area and he skid to a stop slamming his back against a tree, his nose was working about smelling the sweet scent of a dear nearby. He glanced towards Koi then back around the tree looking to see if he could see it yet. He knotted his bow and pulled the arrow half way back. Gotta make this kill, the town depends on it. He thought with a confident grin as he slwoly paced down the hill watching back at Koi. He smiled and motioned him to follow but stay quiet. It had been a while since he got to hunt with his close friend Koi. He was the only one that got close to the wolf, it was hard but he liked the fact he got close to someone. He usally was disliked beacuse he had a extreme hatred for the female race, he wanted the packs to be men only, have the women for slaves to just impregnate them when needed no other use. This ideas were brought on by his upcoming. He growled under his breathe his mind focusing now on the women scum of the village. He spat angerly before he relaxed, he may hate the females, he wasn't mean off the bat but if they gave him chance where he could yell at them he would take it. He continued down the hill side coming into the clear grazing area his eyes catching sight of the pray. He pulled back farther on his arrow and released it, it flying into the deers neck. The deer fell silent, and to its side. He grinned howling triumphently before glancing back towards Koi. " Got it, i got it, go Lief go Lief" He said grinng up at the black wolf. He laughed at himself and hooked his bow onto his back taking his dagger out and walking towards the downed deer. This wind is posion to women.

A scruffy looking man sat on a rock, over looking the small village. His gold eyes followed the people below, strong jaw caught in his hand. His eyes closed for a minute, breathing in deeply, a low sigh rocking his shoulders. His nostrils flared ever so slightly, his head turning to the side, the scent of blood heavy on the air.
It took seconds for fur to sprout on his body, the warrior stood slowly, a snarl escaping his black lips. He shook his fur, black and white main falling over one shoulder. He turned around and moved in the direction of the scent, his eyes, glittering, gold, cold. He paused when he caught the scent of the scouts. Oh he knew their scent. The boys. He couldn't recall their names, nor did he care. He turned on his paws, slowing slowly.

Maeve
Maeve stretched her arms about her head as she strolled deeper into the forest. She was still in her humanoid form, and planned on staying in for a while longer, at least until she got to her destination. Her goal was to make it to the lake. Or glorified pond, really. It really was too small to be a lake. In any case, it had the most delicious blackberries growing on its banks. Blackberries that should have reached the perfect ripeness by now... She smacked her lips at the thought. Blackberry cobbler would definitely be on the menu tonight.

Loud sounds came from the healer's hut in the Vicus Lupus village.
Shika had gotten some unwanted company, and now she was stamping about the hut, yelling at her little 'invaders.'
" Geeeeeyah!!! Yew liddle ruffians! Out! Out I say! Stay away frum dat! Agggh!!! Git ye gone afore Ah git out mah beatin' stick!!"
Two pups ran from out of the entrance to the hut, with a rather angry Shika standing in the doorway, waving her staff about, " If'n Ah catch yew two messin' in mah totems agin, it be da beatin' stick fore shores next time!"
Those naughty pups seemed to like getting into her collection of handmade wooden totems, thinking they were toys to throw around and play with.
Totems were not toys, they contained the spirits of animals that acted as guides to their designated recepients, and were often given to new shamans being inducted or to warriors reaching adolescents.
Now they were scattered all over the floor of the hut in a jumbled heap, Shika growled again.
" Them pups, alwheys gittin' in mah totems n' tossin' 'em round 'n round... Why, if'n Ah had mah strong, young legs, Ah'd chase after 'em n' give 'em proper punishin...'" she said, rambling to herself, her back cracking as she bent down to pick the totems up from the floor.
A gleam caught the corner of her one good eye, and she looked up, biting back a snarl to see that the polished cherrywood box containing her various charms had been upset, it's contents scattered carelessly onto the counter where she would make her medicines.
" Gah!! Darned pups got into mah charms too!! Better check t' make shore nuttin's been stolen..." Oh so yah wanna do it dat way? Lemme git out mah beatin’ stick an’ let’s see if’n yah change yer mind then! ‼

Koi stayed near Lief, having caught the scent of the deer as well.
He saw Lief draw his arrow back a bit, and instantly, a javelin was in the young scout's hand, ready to toss when his friend fired.
If they succeeded in making this kill, then it would be good dinner tonight, already Koi's mind was awhirl with thoughts of spiced, slow-roasted venison, dripping with juices and just tender enough...
' Focus, Koi, focus!!' his mind snarled, and he gave himself a mental slap to bring him back to reality.
Lief pulled the arrow back farther, and loosed.
Like an iron-tipped bird of death, the arrow flew through the air, intending to make it's mark straight and true.
Koi readied to throw his javelin, should the arrow miss, and if he could hit his intended spot, one of the legs, they'd still have a good chance at dinner before it ran away.
Shock came across his face as the arrow buried itself deep into the deer's neck, and it fell over onto it's side.
A grin came across Lief's muzzle, and he howled victory to the skies before glancing back at Koi, " Got it, I got it! Go Lief go Lief!"
He grinned, laughing before he took out his dagger and walked towards their fallen prey.
Koi followed him, " Great job, Lief! I already have something good in mind that I'll whip up from this kill!"
He grinned, playfully clapping his friend on the back before looking over the deer.
" Seems to be a good-sized buck, we're gonna be eating very well tonight," Koi said joyfully.
Hunting was always a chore, but with Lief, it was much more tolerable.
Lief knew what he was doing most of the time, and sometimes knew emergency measures to take in case something goes terribly wrong.
Taking out his skinning knife, Koi looked up to Lief, " Shall we?"

Corbin paused when he heard a loud smack, smack, smack. Once more the warrior was on the prowl, towards the faint noise of smacking lips. He slunk up behind Maeve, low to the ground, before getting on his hind legs. He shifted forms then, stumbling only slightly as his legs shifted.
He knew Maeve well enough. "Maeve, your as loud as a couple of kids." He said, running a hand on his jaw, eyes glittering slightly.
Aimee
Aimee poked her head into the Shamans hut, her wild, unnaturally colored hair spiked up. She was fond of the older female, and when the younger weres were scattered from the hut she was there to pick them up by the scruffs and get what they had shoved in their pockets. "Looking for these Shika?" She asked, holding out a few charms in her palm. She was very much human right now. Her odd colored orbs glittered in delight at the old woman.

« Lief Wind » The wind blows in your direction, Liefs eyes went back towards Koi as he slapped him on his back, he gave a playfull growl towards the boy before he smiled. " Better be good Koi, or ill eat you for dinner." He spoke in a playfull manner before he turned back towards the deer. As they got closer he looked back towards Koi. He grinned at him and then poked him in the chest. " And the best Hunter Koi, was the one to get it, great job pail." He said with a wide grin before looking back towards the meal, the boy was so shy, why not give him something to be glad about. He rubbed the deers neck taking the arrow out. He mumbled a few chants under his breathe before he looked back up towards Koi. " Its yours Koi, you can have the pleasures, skinning a beast isn't my thing." He said walking past Koi putting the arrow back in the quiver. His eyes scanned the area as his nose smelt for any other wolves, he liked the others but if they improached on Kois and his kill he wouldn't be friendly. He looked back over at Koi just watching him with awe. " So what d you have in mind for this kill Koi? I sure would love some venison, though id have to try to find some grain to make pancakes." He said rubbing his chin, trying to think where he could find it. He always knew what to do, well with most situations, especially food. He put his dagger away as he didn't sense any danger and just glanced down towards Koi watching him like a protective brother. Koi was the closest thing to family he had. This wind is posion to women.

Maeve paused mid-stride with a laugh. "I'm sure Shika would disagree with you." she said as she turned to face warrior. Trust Corbin to sneak up on her... Were she not so sure of her surroundings, she might have jumped... As it was, her heartbeat had done little more than momentarily spike. She tilted her head to the side, studying the older male. "So what brings you out here? Surely you're not just stalking me." she teased.

Her chuckled at her words about the batty old Shaman. "Your probably right, compared to them you are as silent as a mouse.' A Cheshire grin appeared on his face as she suggested him stalking her. "As tempting as that may be I do have a bit of dignity." He winked an eye at her, and for a moment the car on either side of his eye was complete. "Am I not allowed to frolic the woods like an elf?" He asked, cocking his head to the side, smirking at her. He was easily a foot taller then her. A giant of a man.
"No." his voice suddenly seemed bored. "I was just checking out the scent of blood." He said a bit impishly. "I mean it is my duty." He chuckled slightly at this, his eyes turning to the sky as he plodded beside her. "heard your lip smacking and came to investigate." He pursed his lips slightly in thought. "I thought for sure you had a boy out here. I had to get some proof." He grinned at this, his shoulders lifting as he chuckled.

Shika smiled when she heard the voice of her apprentice, Aimee, having picked up most of the charms and put them back in the box.
Aimee was Shika's favorite of the younger wolves, she was so much like the old woman, crazed in the head and being able to talk to spirits.
She looked at the charms in the girl's palms, clapping with delight, " Thank yee muchly, Aimee, Ah really need t' hire a guard if'n dem pups don't stay out o' mah totems and charms..."
She accepted the stolen charms from Aimee, and put them in the box, counting them up.
" Hrrmmmm, lessee... one...tew...tree...four...five...six.... seven..." her eye never skipped a beat as it slid over them, counting them up.
" Nine charms en all, wait, one charm be's missin'!!!" she said, trying to bring back memories.
The missing charm was a golden crescent moon combined with a circle, seeming to make the head of a horned 'man' or creature, and there was a purple gem in the circle's center.
That was one of her good luck charms, as well as her most prized one of all.
" Ohohoho... there'll be sum interrorgatin' t'do, but shorely dat kin wait till later," she said, turning back to Aimee, " Ah tink we kin git in another training session before da day be's done, dontcha tink so too, Aimee?"
As she said this, a grin crossed her muzzle, she would teach the youth all that she knew about medicine before her old age would finally do her in.

Koi chuckled at Lief's remark after he had slapped his friend on the back.
He stumbled back a bit as Lief poked his chest, " And the best hunter, Koi, was the one to get it, great job pal."
The young scout grinned, bending down as Lief rubbed the deer's neck, taking out the arrow.
" It's yours, Koi, you can have the pleasures, skinning a beast isn't my thing," said the older wolf, walking past him and putting the arrow back in his quiver.
Koi shrugged, " Suit yourself then," as he made a quick cut with his knife on the neck of the deer, beginning to skin it.
The boy worked with much practiced efficiency, though his ears listened to every word Lief said, " So what do you have in mind for this kill, Koi? I sure would love some venison, though I'd have to try to find some grain to make pancakes."
Koi spoke, " I was thinking maybe some nice spiced, slow-roasted venison, would be good on a day such as this."
He smiled, finishing up his work.
Now Koi had a lovely new deerskin, carefully cut to cause minimal damage.
Maybe the fur trapper or the tanner would be able to use this, or it could make a nice rug or decor.
" Let's get this home," he said, indicating the now skinned deer, " All this talk of venison is making me hungrier by the second!"
He smiled again, Lief was like an older brother to him, almost like Bringrand and Lork-thar, two of the last surviving brothers of Koi's former orphan pack, protective and smart, willing to do anything to protect those they loved dearly. ♥ ♥ Speak to me,

Maeve had to force a laugh into a cough at the image of Corbin 'frolicking like an elf'. Before realizing what he'd said and glaring indignantly. As if she'd actually bring a boy out here! Of all the ridiculous things! "You know full well I wouldn't!" Maeve had become notorious for turning down such proposals, much to her father's dismay. Her father thought she was too picky. Maeve thought her father could shove it where the sun don't shine. She would wait till the right wolf came around, till then she saw no reason settle for less. She narrowed her eyes suspiciously at Corbin. "My lip smacking wasn't that loud you know... If I didn't know better, I'd say you were following me." Either that or he was after her blackberries....

"Oh I am aware you wouldn't. I just wanted to see that fiery little spirit you have tucked away oh so well. Theres a bet going around your a woman lover. I find it highly likely." If there was one thing Corbin enjoyed doing, it was harassing Maeve. "Oh ho ho ho, really now?" His gold eyes turned to her. "I bet those boys could hear them smacking together." He smirked at her. "And what if I was following you around? What are you gonna do about it?" His head cocked slightly, curiously. He had never had the opportunity to challenge the girl.

Aimee watched the elder lady in silence as she counted them. She frowned when the shaman declared one missing and instantly a low growl formed in her throat. "those pups can't keep their paws off anything!" She declared, crossing her arms. "they deserve a good licking. and i dont mean with my tongue!" She glowered in the direction the pups had gone. She glanced up at her voice and a rather large grin formed on her face. "Oh I couldn't agree less!" she dropped to the ground, falling silent, her eyes on the old wolf.

Maeve found herslef momentarily flabbergasted. A woman lover?! What the hell!?!? Not that she had anything against it, but..... ew!! Definitely not! And Corbin found it likely.... She didn't know why, but she found that even more insulting that the bet... "Keep at it and find out." she growled, once she had stopped sputtering in indignation. Forget the blackberries, this meant war.

He watched her with glittery eyes as she choked on his words. He watched her neck work, her jaw clench and unclench, hands balling into fists. At her words he smirked and threw an arm around her shoulder. "Awww lighten up Maeve. theres nothing wrong with being a lesbian." He chuckled, pulling her towards the blackberry bushes, knowing exactly where she was heading.

"You're a horrible person" She glared up at Corbin, quite a feat considering how huge he was.It revealed her slender neck, something her wolfish side despised doing She glared harder. Woe betide him if she got a crick... She didn't shrug him off though... Instead, and rather surprisingly, she calmed down and smiled rather maliciously as she completely changed the subject. "I'm going to bake a cobbler." She didn't do it all that often, but when she did... well... It turned out pretty dang well, if she said so herself.
