5,000 years prior to the events told here, there rose two solitary hopes for two of the higher planes; Divinus and Celestia. These two, the Kami of Light and Lone Peacemaker, as entirely unexpected of them through their respective prophecies, carried for their entire lives since one fated day, a love that could never have been replaced. However, unable to demonstrate this love, caught up in a seemingly eternal struggle, Arannis and Eri face, once again, Nyx and Ryn, the Essence of all Darkness and her plaything bodyguard. For now, it is all they can do to grant each other hope for a future that they both know they cannot bring about...

Standing once more against the oncoming threat of looming darkness, Eri's head pulsed in the pain of remembrance. What had occurred so long ago seemed mere moments previous. She looked to Arannis, knowing full well that this might be the last time that she would see him in this life.
~Does it really have to end this way?~

Arannis held a hand out to her, willing his memory of the one place that might do them solace into it.

Eri took firm hold of his hand, finding comfort in the memory and in the knowledge that she was not alone in this endeavor.

Arannis looked into her eyes, remembering in that instant the pains that had been suffered by both of them for all the years that they had known each other. Divinus, Celestia, Marian, Barton twice over, only to name a few.
~To say that we've been through Hell would be an understatement, although this place I have shown you is not entirely on the other side of life. One thing that may bring about enough power to at least neutralize all this evil that has spread may yet come about, but I will need one thing from you in the end...~

~No... not mine. If my sources are correct, only we can bring the truth of so many hidden realities into our own. If you can manage to maintain even a semblance of what life you hold within you...~
Arannis held up a hand, an extraordinarily faint blue coming around it for the first time since Derahci's defeat.

~There are powers higher than the both of us, Eri... that I have been made aware of. I know fate when I see it, and to have such an end as this come down on us... it is all I can ask that we work to bide our time, so that perhaps we can attain some for those who may yet have power over this all...~
Arannis steeled his gaze, and opened a portal in front of them.

She stepped up to his side, intent on entering at the same time.

Arannis held a hand between them, creating an matrix of defensive magic around them both, hoping that it would be enough to fend off the aura, at least.
After several seconds' hesitation, the pair of them stepped through.
