There's alot of discussion on how the RP is ran and that the guild is on its way of dying off. To prevent any further complications, I am open to discussion/ideas to help the guild expand its possibilities and to satisfy as many guild members/Tolkien fans as possible.

Chokin and Estelyn have been busy and do not have the time to take care of the guild RP as often as I possibly can. So I'm going to do a little taking over, few rule changes or anything necessary to help them out (Let's appreciate their hard work). Before I do, however, I want to know what the other guild members want because after all, the guild runs itself on the activity of its members.

A few ideas that came up

-Creating more than one RP.
If you dislike how the main guild's RP is going, Let us know.
Creating your own RP and it's own abiding rules but make sure it's well-constructed and you know what you're doing. Don't ever put up a post stating 3 rules and a sentence or short paragraph to start it off, for example. Make it worth-while, descriptive, and interesting with a decency of strict rules to follow, even if it's just the basic RPing rules.
It will be maintained and looked over by the mods every now and then to make sure it's appropriate.

-The Tolkien Tavern
In the older guild, We had a whole new thread called The Tolkien Tavern, it was pretty much like the chatterbox with a few bits of role playing involved in it. (Edit: Potentially the ligher substitute RP, or a training camp of sorts.)
Example: You chose to be the waitress, you'd role play as one as you casually talked amongst the others in the 'tavern' somewhat like you would in the chatterbox.

-Non-Tolkien related material
As I've stated before, "I hate to feel like I'm beyond conservative/an extremnist with things only Tolkien-related." Would it be alright to have something non-Tolkien brought into a 'Tolkien' guild.
There are other guilds and threads for anything outside of his works, however, if it's necessary and wanted, we could have similiar threads here to liven things up. For example: contests, art, poetry/writings..

-Guild events
Post any kind of get-togethers we could hold to liven things up a bit.
Example: Avatar contest (Elven?), Tolkienistic writing contest, another Party Tree event...

I think a writing thread might be a good idea... I'd be happy to make it and maintain it, if Chokin or Estelyn didn't have the time or want the responsibility. I've got a writer's guild of my own, so I'm used to reading and critiquing work (even though I'm a bit of a procrastinator... sweatdrop )

People might also appreciate a lighter RP of the tavern sort. We could maintain the existing Chatterbox for when people don't feel like RP-ing, and have one for when they're feeling creative. I think people like having choices most of all.

And you might also want to make a rule of doing a spell-check on their RPs that they create before posting them. I'm not saying you're a bad person if you don't type very well, but it is easier to read if you've corrected things.

I do like this guild very much, and the people in it, so let's do what we can to keep it alive and well. whee

Any ideas that you have, can be done. It doesn't necessarily have to be ran by me or the mods unless wanted, I'm giving you all permission to run (fair) contests, set up your own threads.. anything you wish to keep your hearts content.

Just make sure it's discussed with other members of the guild to get an idea of how they'd like it to be done, who's to run it, etc.. 3nodding

Yes, spell-check is your friend. It doesn't bite, and only very rarely does it proclaim you an idiot and stalk off.

Just my two cents about inactive members: In my guild, I let their numbers work for my guild instead of banning them. However, this guild definitely seems to have no problems gaining members. I guess it really depends on whether you like neatness or don't mind non-posters.

Any inactive members can be left with me. Right now they shouldn't be a concern. I will, however, make a new, permanent thread and anyone knowing they will be absent should post there.

I need to know plans. I want to see something done/new as of right now. A few days of thought and the previous comments were enough to get an idea. We need it set to stone now.

If you want to run a thread, I need to know:
-Who you are/who's running it with you
-What it's about.
-Your plans on setting it up and the rules.. and by this I mean I want to see it done or in the process of creation, at least.
You can send the info to me, post it on the 1st page of your thread in progress or post your plans here.
Whatever it may be, I want to see some things done.

If you want new RP threads, I need to know:
What kind, who's to run it

Answer those for me, and I or an available mod will do our best at any assistance needed. 3nodding

Yes, I'm asking the one who's running a RP thread to make clear what the RP is about. Make it well-structured. That way there is very little to no confusion.

I'm only running this guild for the members/fans of Tolkien. Simply because one decides to leave because it's not fit to their fancy is their fault. Because I am being completely open to all suggestions/ideas as possible to suit their tastes, and if no one agrees to this it will be very well their own fault because they do have the 'power' to change it to their liking. I do not regret at all, if they decide to leave. I just wanted to make clear of that. 3nodding

Well ive been doing alot of thinking and a Rp that i would like to participate in would be a like a conituation of LoTR... say in Return of the King the war didnt end and Sauron was still alive... say that The Ring dissapeared and that Frodo and Sam Dissapeared all together... there for causing the War of Sauron over Middle Earth to continue... With Elves, Humans, Dwarvs, Orcs, Hobbits, and other creatures it would be the Never Ending War... i dont know much about what else should be there but something is missing... anyway that would be something i would participate in and hopefully if somwthing like that were to begin hoping to be forgiven and would allow a selfish guy like my self back in sweatdrop lol well thats what i think anyways
