Should one forgive and completely forget what the other person has wrongfully done, or should the person forgive and not forget, so that he/she could be careful and not gullible the next time around? it's always wise to be careful, but don't hold it against them. Like next time you see them just try to start fresh and use discernment God will help you and give you the grace to see. Think about when God forgives you everytime you come to Him He doesn't say "Oh I'm sorry but I won't help you/talk to you anymore because..." but he completly wipes it out. (something that's hard to do I know)
So I'd be careful trust takes a long time to re-build once broken. Forgive and don't hold it against them but I'd be careful with whatever it is.
For instance say you loaned someone money and they said I promise I'll pay you back! So you believe them and give them some money. A few months later you ask them about it and they say "oh sorry" and kinda brush it off. The next time they ask for money I'd be careful with that.
I hope this helps!
