Damon, The riddle outcast in part of Tosen's malevolent and rich family, was Tosen's cast aside cousin. Damon Heirner was sent out to be a orphan at the Whammy house, where he was to be succumbed to his own downward spiral. He screamed at his Family, all but Tosen, his only friend. He then began to learn on his abilities to manipulate and force people to his will. That is, until he met Evan.

Evan was the only person who outsmarted him. No matter how hard he tried, in the games they played Evan was not even within his grasp and he wasn't within view. All he could do was just fail. That is, until he began to "See" the true challenge. Get everyone on a case that no one can solve, and have Evan on the edge. Damon, or "Dream" as he began to call himself, killed 6 people, leaving small clues behind as to who did it. Perfect right?

Wrong; He was unable to defeat Evan and only lost in his near end game. He was confined and escaped only 2 years later, tracking down Evan. He eventually found him in a game of life and death and was confined to the "Riddle Truce", as the riddle keeps them from killing each other. Damon escapes again, only to fail ONCE more, and be confined to solitary darkness, his torture and his own Demons came out to play. LDK Got him out, but Damon's impaired state drove him away. He learned of Evan's death. This is the unexpected turn in Damon's life: His Best friend, or Rival, had died. He didn't kill him, so he takes the place of Evan only to also be killed by the Death Note a few days later. His final poem was titled "The Grave", with the ill and crude lines:

"Though I pass across these Graves
I find myself unable to Behave
I look up until I cannot breathe
Death is where the Crow shall be
Smiling at all the dead can see
And just between you and me
I Shall be laid here soon."
