Lyrandis and Terra, the twin Godlings, Guardians of Mortalis, have only just restored a peace of sorts to the realms. Now, though, they face the very same evil that destroyed their parents without even a fair fight. Nyx, the essence of all that is evil, and the power thereof, will prove more than these two can handle, as well. In their desperation, they turn to an absolute...

Lyrandis nodded at Terra's agreement, and held his hands together, as the pair of them began to meld into one grand form not unlike Lyrandis' own, although the wingset nearly doubled in size, and explosive bursts of light, corresponding to each of the elements, issued from behind him, as the twins formed into Incarnus, the Keeper of the Balance. His gaze showed no emotion, his intensity unmatched in perfect focus. He held out his hand that was holding the united daggers of the Godling twins, and the blade extended into a greatsword, which he still held with only one hand.

"Nyx... this will come to an end. Your actions have destroyed all hope for the Celestial and Divena, but you somehow managed to overlook a single one of each. In this, you have made the fatal mistake of giving me a rebirth, however unlikely. I created Alternus from my prison of the void, Nyx. You cannot hope to defeat me, and you know it as well as I."

Strangely enough, even though the voice echoed and resounded through the winds, his mouth remained closed through all of his speech. He held his blade high into the air.

"Hear me, friends of our blessed Kami and Peacemaker. Heed my words, companions of the Godling twins. I am Incarnus, Keeper of the Balance. I ask you to aid me in fending off the greatest of evils, the absolute in vile power. I cannot do this alone, though I risk none of your lives in asking. I ask only for empowerment, that I may succeed."

Several... hundreds, perhaps thousands, of small lights shone behind Incarnus, each floating into his form, some quickly, some hesitantly, but all of them, nonetheless.

"Now, Nyx... I am ready for anything you dare to strike at me with."
