Chapter One : The meeting
The setting is 1999 in South Korea
장미(Jang-Mi) - age 5
종현 (Jong-Hyun) - age 9
I went with my mom to her friends house.
She said, "Jang-Mi this is my friend Ga In. You can call her aunty". I was scared. I hid behind my mom.
"BOO!"
"AH!" I screamed. Someone's hands where covering my eyes. I pulled them off, and turned. It was a boy. He had dark short hair, and was obviously elder then me. "Who are you?!" I screamed.
"You shouldn't yell at strangers like that!" He warned.
"Now Jonh-Hyun you shouldn't scare Jang-Mi like that" Aunty Ga In said. I sticked my tongue out at the him. He did the same. "Jang-Mi this is my son. Say hi Jong-Hyun"
"Hi baby" he said. I just stared. Then he took my hand lead me to the play room upstairs. "This is where I keep all my toys. I'll share with you if you forgive me"
"Okay, but only because I want to play" I replied. It wasn't the only reason though, I just didn't look like arguing with people. So we played there while our parents reunited down stairs. My mom told me that we where going to live with them now. Ever since daddy left we didn't have much money.
* Later that night *
I was in my room when a thunder storm ran out. I started to panic, I mean I was five after all. I curled up into the corner of my bed. After a little while I had to go to the bath room so I nervously & slowly walked out. I ran into Jong-Hyun, "OPPA!" I screamed as I heard the thunder. "I'm scared help!" . So with a flash light he led me to his room.
"Don't worry we're family now. As your oppa I promise I'll protect you" . I felt safe. That night we didn't sleep. We talked for a while. We talked about family, friends, toys, cartoons, love, and promises.
