The Nexus Gauntlet
Welcome to the Nexus Gauntlet. The tournament is currently in session. This tournament is unique to Gaia Online. Each round of the tournament all players must play with ONE decktype. They are not forced to use an exact list of each player but, there are requirements in each round. Our goal with this tournament is to increase each player's knowledge of different decktypes, how to prepare for a specific playing field, and how to sidedeck appropriately. So, enjoy, this is sure to be one hell of an event.

Duel Regulations
As stated before, we'd prefer either Jazzy Synchron or myself to be present during your duel for real time ruling decisions. If we are not available and a player is stressed on time to play during this round, we will require a copy of the duel log from BOTH participents. Failure to do so requires an explaination from the individual who did not send in.
If, after going through your duel log, we have found an issue, we will discuss it between ourselves. We will decide how it affected the game and make a judgment of what should happen in response. When a judgment has been made, we will notify the players of the duel with our ruling and an explaination as to why the decision was made.
If either player would like to challenge that decision, they can reply with an explaination of the challenge and we will talk it out.
To repeat myself, you cannot side out of the mandatory items listed for each round.
If they are any further concerns, please post or notify us.
Update from 11 January 2011
Small gameplay note, you cannot side out of the main engine of each round. If I put out that four recruiters and two Chaos Sorcerers are mandatory for the decklist, they must remain in games two and three.
Prizes were previously announced in a guild announcement but, to restate, they will be the latest three EIs on Gaia at the time of the tournament's completion. First will choose one of the three, second will take one of the two and third will be stuck with whatever EI is left over.
Super Saiyan Spyron has been banned from the guild for being an idiot. Judge for yourselves if this was a logical response to the below PM exchange...
Read the first post of the tournament thread. The ENTIRE TOURNAMENT is meant to be a proxy tournament. That's why I say, VERY clearly, to use YVD to proxy your decks. It's up to you to decide if you want to connect to another person with it or not but, it's the best piece of software you can use.
i know how to proxy most of my infernity deck is made from proxy cards and i don't have a yvd account or the program on my computer and i am not going to put that on my computer and i will not look up cards effects eather
That is all for now.

Update - December 09, 2010
Prizes:
• I will be providing free prizes for the top three players in the tournament IF the tournament does not die out due to player inactivity.
• I will be purchasing the latest three EIs from the Gaia Cash Shop at the end of the tournament. First place will be allowed to pick, from those three, their prize. Second will pick from the remaining two and third will be stuck with the last one.
Judging Staff:
• There are only two individuals thus far, Ryan and myself. If interest in the tournament increases we will be taking more individuals. No one that is playing will be judging.
• Judging compensation will remain a mystery until the tournament is complete.
Guidelines for Deck Construction:
• Basically what it comes down to is common sense. This is not the second Chaos era where including a single Chaos monster in your deck made it a Chaos deck (******** you Metagame and Black Luster Soldier). Ryan and I will judge whether or not the deck is suitable for the round.
• After each round we will post the decklists of each player. If there is an issue from anyone, please bring it up in a calm and respectful manner.
• If a deck is not constructed in time, a very basic and rough decklist will be provided to the player. This is not a free ride. Unless you get lucky as hell or are a God amongst men, you will likely lose.
• All that being said, let me note some key things. If your deck is not 100% theme based, you will not be automatically denied. This means, feel free to splash things like Brionac, Doom Caliber Knight, Thunder King Rai-Oh, Ryko, etc.
• Also note, we will be using ONLY TCG released cards. If the deck due date is prior to a mass release, that mass release is not legal for play.
Sign Up:
• Sign up starts now. It will run until the end of the first week in January. At that point, I will announce the first theme. You will have a week to construct, submit, etc your deck or be provided one.
• If anyone is in any other guilds, please notify them as well.
Round-by-Round Play:
• Each round will be played out on a messenger service that allows you to save the conversation log. If both players fail to get the judge staff the log, we will require you and your opponent to replay.
• We would PREFER all duels occur with a member of the judge staff on hand to rule on issues. If we are not available and this is a now or never situation, go ahead and play. If a discrepancy shows up in your duel, we will bring it up with each player, explain the issue, and ask if the person who got screwed wants a replay. Ryan and I will decide if the situation warrants it and act accordingly.
• BOTH players will send in the duel log. If someone fails to do so, we will give them a warning. Three warnings and we will give you an automatic game loss. A fourth violation will result in immediate termination.
• If you have an issue with contacting an opponent, please let us know immediately. We will attempt to contact them ourselves and act accordingly. Individuals who go inactive will receive a match loss for that round. If it occurs a second time, they will be terminated from the tournament.
• If you are aware of possible absence during the time in which we ask you to construct a deck and/or play, notify Ryan or myself. We will determine the most suitable outcome then. You MUST notify us before the end of the match time, or you will be given the loss.
Now the ball is in your court, are there any questions, comments, concerns?

Original Post
Greetings everyone.
I recently had a vision of a grand tournament within our ranks. A tournament that would dominate all predecessors... and likely take quite a while to finish.
I dreamed of the "Nexus Gauntlet". A collaboration of an undecided amount of rounds of play for a prize that is undetermined. Each round in the Gauntlet would be special, different than other tournaments where you simply unsidedecked and moved on to the next round.
In the first of a series of specialized tournaments, let me break down its rules.
For each round in the tournament you will run a different deck type. It could be Quickdraw, Debris Plants, Scraps, Sabers, Little City, STUN, Gladiator Beasts, Blackwings, Samurai, Morphtronics, Absolute Zero... or anything else in the abundance of the game.
A week before the tournament begins I will announce the first round's deck type. You will have one week to send the decklist to me to have it approved as coherently following the chosen theme of the week. If you fail to have an approved list, I will be handing out a subpar list for you to play with for the week.
Once the preparation week is completed I will announce the round pairings and the deck theme for the next week. You will have one week to create a list for the new theme and to complete your duel. Inactivity in the round will be judged on a case by case basis.
Do not have the cards needed for the round? Don't worry about it. Download YVD or otherwise proxy the cards in question.
I realize our first tournament turned belly up in a cataclysmic failure but I will be hosting this directly.
I apologize for how long it will take to get this tournament underway but, I will be using the time to more specifically create guidelines for deck building, decide on the round themes and be gathering the prize for the tournament.
Entry into this tournament will be free and the prizes will be amongst the top three individuals. Likely three items on Gaia in which the winners will chose their prizes in order of ranking.
That is all.
