I am 18 years old.
I believe in love, but I don't believe in letting love control you. Or falling fast, or love at first sight.
I believe in being honest, I hate lying.
I don't drink.
I don't smoke.
I don't do drugs.
And frankly, I don't want to.
I don't party.
I want to be in school for the actual school part, I like learning. And doing work.
I respect my parents to the fullest, I would never talk back. I'd be tempted to hit myself for it, let alone have my parents do it.
I'll do anything they as me to do, because they raised me and gave me everything I "needed" to "grow up."
I read and write, and I'm not afraid to admit that I love books. I seem to be unable to find anyone here [where I live] who likes to read in their spare time.
I'm not a girly girl at all.
i know how to fix a car, build things, use power tools [and name them all,] cook my own food, do my own laundry, fix almost anything around the house. . . [I know people who can't even make pasta... = / ]
I don't take part in casual sex or hook ups. I don't frown upon it, but I don't want it.
I feel like I don't belong in this generation. I feel like I don't belong with any of my "friends." = /
My friend invited me to her college, and she was talking about doing shrooms and pot and getting drunk. I ended up spending the night along in her dorm as she went and shagged some guy and drank. = /
I don't know what happened.
And I'm so pissed that my family keeps waiting for me to turn into everything I'm not.
There is a lot of stress right now, in my life. Growing up is difficult and I'm trying to deal.
I feel like a t**t for posting this.
I just needed to rant...

Don't worry, when you progress a little more in life you'll meet cats who are like that too.
I had the advantage of growing up through teenage life with a friend who was about twelve years older than me, so she was just past that part of her life and I wasn't down with s**t. Very much into the ganj, but she wasn't a douchebag so she respected my s**t when I didn't smoke, and didn't like smoke around me or blow me off for some stoner friends.
You just gotta try to meet new people, as hard as it can be sometimes. I swear not everyone is into partying and dicks in their mouth 24/7. I felt alone my whole teenage life as a straight edge kid, grew up, met kids like me.
Your family is going to think you'll ******** up, it's a little unheard of for someone your age to not be into any of that s**t in this age. They probably think you're lying. That was my family, I'm so ******** weird in general they thought I was crazy on drugs and s**t. Then they finally believed that I was sober once I started actually smoking, lmfao. Champions.
ANYWAY, long post is long. Hang in there, I assure you not everyone is a douchebag. <3
(Also I can't believe it when some of my friends can't cook/take care of themselves. Wtffff xD)

oh geeze, on facebook I saw a girl asking how much detergent she has to put in with her wash. I face palmed.
I know that there are people who're like me, but it's pretty difficult to find in my current situation.
And at least most of the people I do hang out with, they'll stop when I'm with them. But ionno. It's weird watching people talk about getting drunk when I'm just like... yeaahh.
My family almost wishes I'd go crazy for a while, just so they have to stop worrying about it. All of my siblings are trouble makers, and I'm just plain outa place for them. They don't know what to do with me.

Amen to that.
Bio's right, there are tons of people out that that lead a straight edged lifestyle and have fun with it. I know I do.
Most of the time I channel my energies into community project, school events, etc.
Join an inter mural sport team or something. And take some satisfaction in the fact that you CAN have fun without having to indulge like that.

Hm. I don't know if there are community events or anything here. People are pretty closed up.
I love hanging out with my current friends, the group I'm with more often these days because everyone is at college. Yes, they drink, but they don't do it around me... We're going to RenFaire this weekend too. =]
