Violet was done up as she always was, in pretty coloring and several accessories, all matching in a manner that showed she had a good eye for color if nothing else. The girl was moving along through the long, winding, and for her a little bit confusing, halls of the Academy. She had a destination in mind it was just finding it that was proving exceedingly difficult at the moment.

"Library... where are you." She murmured to herself in a sing song voice as she floated along, silent aside from the swishing of the clothing she wore, the long ends of the bow that was on the back of her skirt was trailing behind her like a banner until she gave pause where to hallways intersected and found herself standing there, debating the three directions that she could pick from. They all kind of looked the same, didn't they? The girl lifted a hand up to play with one of her pig tails thoughtfully, "Well... there is only way to decide which way I go!" She told herself in a matter-of-fact sort of way as she lifted a hand to point to the left.

From there she started to do an Eeny meeny miny mo game, allow it to decide the fate of which of the three hallways that she turned down next in her search for the seemingly elusive area where all the books resided. After her initial meeting with two of her fellow students and the far to handsome for his own good Illuser she decided that maybe she was a little behind, both in her studies and in her ability to deal with dirt and hands on fighting. She would see about tackling the latter problem at another date... maybe Ike could help her with that? He seemed as though he were a fan of such things after all. It occurred to her also that she might have been able to ask Reiss about where the library was but she would admit to anyone who asked that Reiss intimidated her a little bit since he acted so very smart and confident.

Alright, the game had decided she wasn't going straight ahead, "Now to narrow it down further..." She started the game again between the left and right paths, knowing that this time around her path would be chosen.

The long legs of the tall Cor took him quickly through the hallways as he headed towards the Library. After his meeting with some of the new students there were some things he had plans to check out so he could plot their training more extensively. He had no intentions of allowing Peacock to behave however he wanted and was more than a little determined to teach him humility and proper behavior. Especially for when speaking to one of his superiors, which was precisely what Illuser was to him. Illuser's other two students agitated him less, if only mildly so. One of them was particularly Gutsy, and he liked that about her. The other was easily excitable, but craved power and that pleased the soon to be Vars.

The man's eye twitched just a little as he caught sight of a young Cor floating through the air ahead of him. Her voice sounded familiar and Illuser's tail stopped in midair as he realized who it was. It was Gutsy. And she appeared to be lost. Momentarily unsure if he should interrupt her muttering to herself, he quickly sighed and shrugged his shoulders. It wasn't like he was doing anything else at the moment, was it?

Clearing his voice he picked up his pace, "Hey, Gutsy. You lost?" Certainly not the most polite of interruptions, but at least he was trying, right?

A squeak escaped from Violet's lips and she seemed to lose track of where she was in her choosing game before she turned around, opening her mouth to reply... then she saw who it was standing there. The girl seemed to perk up greatly, a smile appearing on her face instantly, "Instructor Illuser!" It was as though he magically appeared because she was thinking about him! What amazing luck it would appear that she had. At least in that one area she reminded herself, she was lost after all just as her instructor had guess. At least if nothing else getting lost helped her to find her most favorite instructor, not that she knew any of the others, and she couldn't help it as her excitement grew given he was her current crush.

"Yes, a little. I was trying to find the Library. I thought maybe it would help to read lots of books so that I can keep up with Reiss and the others." Though she wondered if someone like Ike read at all... he didn't seem the book sort unless perhaps he was using it as a war club. She instantly had a mental image of that which she pushed aside so that she wouldn't set to giggling, last thing she wanted was to have to explain why she was laughing to her teacher.

Instead she gave him a hopeful sort of smile and big, puppy dog eyes, "Could you show me where it is, Instructor?" She asked of Illuser.

The squeak that issued forth from Gutsy's lips almost made Illuser cringe and turn around to head back the way he'd come. Almost. But instead, being the strong-willed Cor that he was he forced a smile to his lips that he tried to make seem friendly. Even though something told him that Violet probably wouldn't take too much offense to much that he said, considering how happy she'd suddenly seemed when he came by. This fact worried him just a little and he honestly hoped she wasn't developing a crush on him. Though, as he reflected back to allowing her to touch his tail...that was probably not the best thing he could have done to help her not like him. But things were what they were, and he came even with her easily as his long legs took him forward.

A small smirk touched his lips as she mentioned she, too, was headed to the Library. Certainly Fate was not that cruel to twist things like this! But as she continued to talk, he tilted his head down to focus on her, trying to quiet the internal musings that were always going on in his head. The mention of Reiss only darkened Illuser's mood - now that was a Cor he'd rather forget if there ever was one! But the frown was brief as her puppy dog eyes turned on him, and though he wanted to say no, he felt himself unable to do so when she looked at him like that. For some reason, whenever any female made that look at him, all he could do was turn to mush and do what they asked. The power of females was something Illuser would never fully understand.

One hand reached up to scratch the back of his head as he shrugged, trying to appear like he didn't really care, "I'm headed that way myself, so if you want to tag along..." He wasn't going to invite her to come with, certainly, because he instinctively knew that if she did like him - that would only make her like him even more so. Or, at least, that's what he thought. So instead the tall instructor tried a noncommittal route and didn't even bother to correct her to not call him Instructor though he greatly preferred being called just Illuser.

"Really? Hurray!" What luck she seemed to have when it came to at least this! It would seem that not only was Illuser going to lead her to the elusive Library but it also seemed that he was heading there himself! This meant that while she went about her task of toiling away with her studies that he would be nearby the whole time! Though now that she thought about it she wondered how much studying she was going to even be able to focus on were she to try with him nearby... she would face that hurdle when she got to it though. For now she would focus on better and brighter things, like the fact that she got the distinct honor spending time with her current favorite person.

That he seemed to be trying to look as though he didn't care and wasn't exactly inviting her out for a date or anything Violet didn't seem to notice or if she did she didn't care, she was happy enough at the moment with being allowed to 'tag along' and the idea that she would be going to try to play catch up with her studies with an instructor had its advantages, maybe she could glean from him what she should start with and from there maybe she could get him to help her find the books that she would need to study first. She was already thinking hard to herself what she would need to do next.

"Thank you for the help! I have a feeling using my method it would have taken a lot longer in getting to the Library." She said in friendly, chatty manner. Allowing a game of chance to pick a person's route wasn't exactly the best way the Cor could pick to travel but it was the first thing that had come to mind when it came to deciding which of the three directions that she should take at that point. Oh well, her time of being lost was, for now, over and she was going to enjoy that fact to the fullest.

For some reason that Illuser wasn't sure of, how happy Gutsy was that he would show her where the library was didn't bother him as much as he'd thought it would. Certainly her jubilant behavior caught him off guard and he still wasn't particularly fond of the fact that she was so easily excited, but he was glad that she wasn't haughty without reason as Peacock was. That gave her at least one point in her favor. Though any additional squeals would only detract points from the mental tally he had going of his current round of students. That he wouldn't budge on.

With a smile that might have been just a tad tight he nodded and gestured down a hallway, "Yes, really." At Violet's thanks he gave another small nod, though his gaze soon grew curious as he turned his head to face her while guiding her through the hall. "Its no problem. I was headed there anyway. Though...what was your method?" Illuser wasn't entirely sure he wanted to ask, given how excited she was when he offered to help her, but his curiosity wasn't something he often ignored. It at least gave him a chance to learn about her, see what she was about and if she'd be any good as a student.

While he listened for her response, he continued walking, not really planning on prolonging the conversation longer than was necessary. Though if asked to stay and help he wouldn't likely refuse.

Violet looked up at Illuser when he questioned her about her methods and her cheeks turned a slight pink color, "Ahh, well I decided that I would leave it up to a game of chance called Eeny Meeny Miny Mo." She admitted to him, as silly as it sounded it had worked in a way after all. It had taken her so long to play through the first game that Illuser had crossed paths with her so luck had at least been on her side in that way, "I figured it was better to try that then wander aimlessly." As though a game of chance was better.

"Is there somewhere that I can see a map of the Academy? So that I study up on it, maybe copy it down?" She asked, it would be nice to have her own copy of the map so that she could find her way around without getting lost. It would be a shame since she would no longer get to have help from Illuser when she got lost since she wouldn't get lost anymore but who was to say he would be there to save her every time she got herself lost? Given there was no guarantee that he would always be there she was certain that as much as she would rather trail along after her instructor it was best that she learned the lay of the land.

At Violet's words Illuser couldn't help himself as he stopped mid-stride and glanced back at the floating Aeon. The older Cor didn't believe what he'd heard at first and his mouth hung ever so slightly agape as he turned to stare at her. Had she really been playing so simple a game to locate the library when he had found her? Had she not thought to look for someone to take her there instead? As she continued, Illuser couldn't decide if he should laugh or tell her off for such a silly game as her method of getting where she wanted to go. And so, he opted for the nicer one, or so he thought, and chuckled, "I suppose the game would be better than mindless wandering." Though in truth he wasn't so sure the two things were all that different.

Illuser turned back in the direction he'd been walking before he'd stopped and shook his head lightly to distract himself from pondering over Gutsy's way of doing things. This was definitely a first for him, as he was fairly certain it was for the Academy as a whole. His bright eyes slid over to look at her as he kept walking and shrugged, "There's likely a map in the library you could check out. And there will probably be tools in there you can use to copy it down if you want." With a sly grin he added, "Though it would probably be better to memorize it."

After a few more turns down the hall he gestured towards two large doors and gave a half bow with a smile, "And here is the library!" With a flourishing full bow he pulled the door open and waved one arm inward, thoroughly enjoying acting like a knight who had just rescued a damsel in distress, "After you!"

Violet gave a little giggle and a nod, "I thought so." Even if it weren't true she had thought that it was better then doing nothing but wandering from place to place to place in hopes that one of the halls would lead her in the right direction. While it hadn't had a chance to try to work she had at least found Illuser... or at the very least he'd found her so it all worked out in the end, right? She thought so.

As the pair of them moved along down the hallways she took in the things around them, details that would help her to get back to the library. Everything was noted from the decorations to the particular pattern on the floor and wall, even a little crack that was off to one side on the wall drew her attention and it was filed away for later use. She turned to look over at Illuser when he mentioned that there was a map in the library and she clapped her hands together, "I will have to study it hard then." She said, giving a nod of her head.

That there were supplies that she could use to copy it down would help as well though she wanted to follow his suggestion, "I will try my hardest to memorize it so I won't get lost again." She promised her instructor, wanting to make his proud by figuring out the lay out of the Academy so that she wouldn't have to rely on games or guides to find her way around.

The purple haired Cor could have cheered when they reached the Library, floating inside and looked around, from side to side at all of the books that were on all of the shelves and she clapped her hands together, "Amazing!" She said in delight before looking up at Illuser, "Thanks again Instructor Illuser!" Her tone was a happy one and the way she looked at him was in a way that said that he was currently her hero. She floated forward a short distance before realizing she had no idea which direction to go in to find the books she would want for someone her level. As such her attention was quickly back on the other male.

"Where should I start?" Given all the books in this place she needed a nudge in the right direction.

A very small smirk touched Illuser's lips as Violet agreed with him with a giggle. She was very personable and easy to get along with. He knew that should make him more comfortable around her, but it had the opposite effect instead. It didn't help that he had the growing distinction she was rather fond of him at this point. And that was the last thing the Sin-Aeon needed before moving up the chain of command. A little Aeon who liked him. The thought almost made him shudder - but then again, he considered the reality of things. If she were to grow quickly and be highly intelligent and powerful, then age wouldn't really matter when it came to finding a mate for the Vars. With a sly glance at the young Aeon he knew she would be a very pretty woman someday, but he just didn't think she'd be that powerful. If she wasn't, then she wasn't really of use to him.

Her clapping pulled him from his musings and he gave a short nod with as stern of a look as he could muster while being vastly amused at someone. "Yes, you will have to study very hard. We wouldn't want you to have to play a game to get somewhere every time you decide to go out, now would we?"

The words were light-hearted and he chuckled just a little as she made the promise to try to memorize the map. Illuser strongly suspected that wouldn't work, but knew he would also be very proud if she did so. It was, after all, a very large and detailed map.

As another smile touched his lips it ended briefly as he realized the young Aeon actually made him smile a lot. It was uncharacteristic of him to smile much in front of the new Cors and that fact disturbed him greatly. She seemed to be infectious with her personality. The hero look in her eyes didn't do much to deter that disturbance he felt, though he swallowed it down and gave another gallant bow anyway. She didn't need to know he was suddenly bothered by her and how her personality affected him. That would just give her power over him and that would be unwise.

With an almost helpless glance down at her as she asked where she should start he shrugged his broad shoulders, "Depends. What are you wanting to study the most at the moment?"

Violet couldn't help but to flush a little as she was told to study hard so that she wouldn't have to rely on games to help her get around. She lifted a hand to her mouth for a moment before giggling, "Your certainly right about that, Instructor Illuser." She agreed, no reason to get upset when it was the truth she told herself, giggling a bit before before she then crossed her arms over her chest and seemed to be thinking deeply upon the question that was posed to her. What did she want to study the most?

"Let's see... I am most curious about ranged weaponry at the moment, so that I can be able to be helpful to those I might end up paired up with but without having to grapple with someone like... say Ike. I can tell just looking at him that hes tough!" Tough if a little slow, "I would also like to learn more about dragons and the other sorts of creatures that you got your orbs from. I kind of want a tail like yours one day!" She looked over her shoulder for a moment and down toward where the tail would attach... well one day when she had a developed lower body like the one that her Instructor had.

She nodded her head as thought cementing that thought in her head, "I would like to learn a bit more about the Healers, I must say that Reiss talking about them made me curious about them..." She murmured, thinking a bit more on it, wondering if there was something else she wanted to add to her list of needed reading materials, "OH! And I would need to find the supplies needed and the map so I could copy that down... and... I think that's it at the moment. Or at least that is everything that comes to mind straight away."

After she had gotten her whole list out in the open she turned her gaze to Illuser, waiting to see which direction he pointed her in first.
PostPosted: Sun Nov 21, 2010 5:23 pm

Illuser couldn't help but chuckle as he was called Instructor Illuser again and patted the air with a hand, "You don't need to call me Instructor all the time. I'm Illuser." He smiled softly, hoping she'd be willing to stop calling him Instructor all the time. While it was certainly nice to be called that and treated with such respect, it sort of grated on the nerves after a while. And she had agreed with him, at least. Maybe next time he saw her she wouldn't be playing a silly game to get around. That would be nice. Then he wouldn't have to worry as much about her getting lost - what would happen, after all, if she got lost and wound up outside of the Sanctuary? While it'd be an interesting test of her mettle, the tall Cor highly doubted she'd survive without some help.

With a shake of his head he brought himself back to the conversation, listening carefully as the young Cor spoke. Bow and arrow would be perfect for her, he mused as his golden orbs looked her over. She was small and he doubted she could handle hand to hand combat. A sword or halberd would likely be too long for her, and too heavy for her skinny little arms, so a bow and arrow would make the most sense. He nodded in both agreement to the ranged weaponry comment and to show he was listening, though an amused grin cracked his stern face as she mentioned his tail. Unwillingly the offending appendage flicked back into obvious view and he laughed, "A tail just like mine? Then you'll have to become very strong, Gutsy. Beasts that have tails like this," he paused and brought the tail in front of him, "can kill you if you're not careful."

And indeed they could. He remembered how hard a fight it had been, but he had persevered and now had the appendages to prove it.

Again the instructor nodded as she spoke, he had guessed she would wind up being interested in Healers. In fact, if he recalled right, he'd thought of a Healer when he first looked at her. Illuser had to fight the shudder that wanted to run along his spine - he didn't fancy spending time with Healers if it could be helped. They could do some creepy things, in his mind, and while they'd fixed him up a time or two - it was what they could do if they weren't helping you that concerned him. As she finally stopped talking, he glanced around the library and sighed, "Well, ranged weaponry is something we can get you a teacher for. You'd have to be fitted for a bow and its something you have to learn by doing rather than reading. So it sounds like you'd want to read up on the Healers, which would be over in that direction."

Illuser pointed off down to the right to a particularly old and musty looking section of the library, that was obviously not used near as much as the rest of the facility. "As for supplies for the copying of the map, the librarian should have some at the desk in the back of the room for use. Its parchment and quill, if memory serves."

He gave another smile as he pointed in the general direction of where the desk was, though he'd rarely ever used it, as far as he could remember.

She could call him just Illuser? Violet's heart skipped a beat in her chest and she did her best not to squeal in delight over being given permission to do such a thing. How wonderful! Her lips were turned up into a happy sort of smile as she looked up at her instructor, "Alright, just Illuser then." She said, giving a smile.

Her eyes went from watching him to once more watching his soft, pretty tail as it seemed to flick from side to side in a manner that just begged for attention. She watched it for a long moment before forcing her attention to go back to listening to her teacher. She couldn't allow for the tail to get her off track so badly that she was unable to follow along after all, "I will try my hardest!" She said in an enthusiastic and hopeful manner as she watched the tail as it was brought in front of Illuser so that it was that much closer to her. To be able to get a tail like that meant getting very strong, strong like her teacher! Something that she now found herself determined to do.

Talk turned to the bow and arrow she mentioned wanting to read about and she was told that it was something that was more that she would learn from a teacher instead of a book he said. Learning by seeing and doing instead of just reading accounts of someone else doing it was likely the better way to go about it. Violet had hoped to get a head start in the class so she wouldn't look like a foolish girlie girl again in front of her classmates but it would seem that she would need to do that on her own.

Darn... oh well. She would try her best and hopefully something good would come of it.

She turned in the direction that the books on healers were located in then over to where the parchment and quills could be found. She gave a nod of her head before giving a smile, "Alright, thank you Instr... ahh... I mean Illuser!" Vio chirped before turning to head in the direction of the quill and parchment first, she might want to take notes on what she read and want to copy more then just the map so that was the most logical first step on her road to becoming a better student she thought as she gathered what she thought she would need.
