So this summer, I decided Wii didn't have enough games to tickle my fancy, and PS3 was too pricey. So I shelled out for a 360 and got Mass Effect, Fable II, and Fallout 3. Thus far, I have finished Mass Effect and Fable II. Fallout 3 I spent nearly 100 hours on, and still have a good bit of Wasteland left to cover, but...

Fact remains, I'm still running out of new-game-room.

While this shouldn't be too much trouble for me (I'm trying to avoid blowing my cash on video games, plus I'm in graduate school as it is), I'm trying to grab game ideas for future reference. (And don't just say Fable III-I'm sure I'll see it enough on these forums. razz )

So! What out there on the Xbox (360) gets your interest? (And is there anything on Xbox that can carry over to the 360, 'cuz I clearly missed out on Fable, and from what I can tell, both the KOTOR series and most of Halo.)

The Xbox had tons of great games.

As you mentioned, Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic 1&2, and in that vein, Jade Empire, a action rpg by bioware set in a sort of ancient china, kung fu movie sort of thing. Jade Empire can be directly downloaded from Xbox Live for around 20 bucks worth of microsoft points.

I was always fond of Jet Set Radio Future as well. If there is one near you, you should be able to find that game at a Play N' Trade for around two or three bucks. If not there, I'd go to Ebay or Amazon. It's a remake of the Dreamcast's Jet Grind Radio, with updated graphics, and a slightly changed story.

Psychonauts. It's trippy, it's fun, it's awesome.

Moving on to the 360, I'd say Brutal Legend is a must if you're a fan of any of the following: Jack Black, Tim Schafer games, Heavy Metal, or 6 hour games that give you a great story, but don't make you immerse yourself using hours that could be used to get a better grade in class, while still having a fun game to play.
Downside to Brutal Legend is that there is absolutely no replay value, but even after you beat the story there are tons of things to unlock to tell you more about the world you're saving.

If you beat Mass Effect, I'd definitely pick up Mass Effect 2. They put more shooter elements to it though. Still, it's an RPG nonetheless.

Viking is a fun on and off game. The story isn't very compelling, but if you have nothing else to play it's a nice time waster.

PROTOTYPE, GODS YES PROTOTYPE. That's all I'm gonna say on that. Great ******** game.

Red Dead Redemption, an indirect sequel to, I believe it was 2003, Red Dead Revolver. IT IS SO DIFFERENT FROM THE FIRST GAME THAT IT'S ASTOUNDING. It's a great game though. A lot of people say it's Grand Theft Auto in the old west, because it's from Rockstar, but I really felt it was more like Bully meets GUN than GTA.

I didn't personally like this one, but a lot of people did, but Dark Sector is supposedly a great game once you get this one weapon. I just didn't like it. It was a bit to dark for me.

Borderlands is a great game, but seriously make sure you have friends to play it with over LIVE, cuz that is where the real fun comes in.

The Force Unleashed is a great game, with a sequel coming out either next year, or in 2012. I warn you though, it gets repetitive pretty quickly. The great story saves it from having that kill it though.

Just play it. Breathe it in. SO MUCH REPLAY VALUE. Also, there is tons of DLC and the sequel comes out this coming March. An ultimate edition is coming out in the next month or so I think, which includes all the DLC.

Oblivion. If you liked Fallout 3, and Fable, you'll love Oblivion, because it's a medieval fallout 3, which Bethesda actually made first. It's the fourth game in the Elder Scrolls series, but they're not direct sequels. They just take place in the same universe.

Dead Rising is pretty good, and the sequel just came out, but I suggest having an HD TV, otherwise you can't read objective text. That's the only reason I stopped playing. I have an old television.

Bioshock. Great game. I just didn't feel it's horror/suspense elements. I'm the only person I know who complains about the game though.

Assassin's creed should only be played so you can play the much better Assassin's Creed II. Seriously.

Assassin's Creed II. Nuff Said.

Bayonetta. It's like Devil May Cry, but has sex appeal for us guys to enjoy. More importantly, the story is really good.

Halo Series. The story is great, and the multiplayer can be fun. Just hope you don't get stuck with a bunch of frat boys or trolls to play with. I'd rather deal with complete scrubs in that game than I would deal with giant tools.

Just Cuase 2. Forget about the first. It was a travesty. The second one is great.

Because this is gaia, and I don't know the amount of Final Fantasy fanatics we have here, I'm just gonna suggest Final Fantasy XIII and be safe.

There are a whole lot of great fighting games on the 360. The most recent being, I think, Super Street Fighter IV. Tekken 6 was also fun. Soul Calibur IV was broken. Seriously. The market place has some good old school fighting games in it. Street Fighter 2 HD Remix is great, KOF98UM is also fun. Garou Mark of Wolves (GarouMOW) is awesome. Best 2d fighting game for download on LIVE. Samurai Showdown II is on there as well. the first Soul Calibur is there, and out of all the downloaded games on my hard drive, that gets the most play. That and.....

Castle Crashers. Hilarious. Fun. Better with friends. If you play a few minutes of Mario Bros Wii, and kill your friendship, Castle Crashers will make the friendship rise from the ashes like a phonix. It's like your friendship went "HEY! WE'RE AWESOME AS A TEAM! ******** YEAH!"

People are gonna say Geometry Wars is great, and that Plants Vs. Zombies is great. I don't get it. But some people like it, so there has to be some redeeming factors. There has to be.

Also, Fallout New Vegas comes out on the 19th. That's Tuesday. Pick that up until Fable III is out, one week later and then go back after you have your Fable fix. That's my plan.

Enslaved just came out. I haven't played the whole game, but the demo was awesome. It made me want to get the full game.

Resonance of Fate is pretty fun, but it took me and my buddy five minutes to figure out the combat system. It's weird. But hey, Square Enix. Fun. Right? Eh. Just Cause 2 is my favorite Square Enix game. You should pick that up instead of Resonance of Fate.

I'm sure I'm leaving a lot out of this, but I'm looking at the scroll bar for this text box and it's looking pretty small, so I'm gonna leave it like this and post again as I think of more.

Also, Go on the market place. Find demos. Play said demos that look like the game would be interesting to you. That's my favorite thing about having the online part of xbox. Play Station Network has demos as well, and it's free, unlike LIVE, but I'm an Xbox fanboy.


Even though I totally plan to get a ps3 to play DC Universe Online and Little Big Planet.

also, the Silver version of Live is free, and you still can download games and demos with it. You just can't to online multiplayer.
