Lesson #2: Character & Profile Development

This is probably one of the hardest things to do... When you make a profile, You usually have to type these things:

His/Her Name

Their Age

Race/Gender (Whatever)

Secxuality (Homo, Bi, or Straight.. whatever you want. It mostly has this only in Romance Rps)

Weapon/Power/Element (optional for War or Fantasy-like Rps)

Personality (What they act like in normal situation or formal situations)

Bio: (What happened at the past that made them who they are today)

Abilities/Talents (Most likely for Romance, School, or maybe it was anytime..not sure.)

Other/Appearance (appearance can be at top or bottom..whatever they are. But there is usually a other in profiles like Scars, Clothes, What they have in Pockets, Etc. Anything)

Honestly...The Hardest ones ever are Personality and Bios. Why? Here is some reasons:

1. Your person's Personality can change. You don't like to stick them to one thing. It's hard to do so sometimes. Like you want them to be sad yet you put them on heartless... or you said they're a crybaby but you want them tough due to maybe fear of death or pain. Trust me. I have a hard time doing that so much...I can't stick to their personality and I get in trouble with it because I have a hard time.

2. For Bio's, You have to have your thinking caps on so much. Sometimes I put in what my friend went through, what I went through, what happened at the news...Tv's, Anime, Parents, Etc. People always like the Bio's Long with big paragraphs and that is usually the problem if we're not that literate like I am. So we like to keep them short but sometimes we try to because people seem to be growing their literacy skills so much. In this Guild, I don't think you have to do paragraphs of Bio's IF you want to. Otherwise, we don't want one-liners... that is just a waste.

Otherwise there are three types of Skeleton Profiles fore Rps; simple, improve, Detailed.

Biography: Diserius wasn't always his name, but his former name was forgotten along with most everything else. However, he does remember he was once a hero to the people. Many times over he risked his life to save theirs, and everytime he was victorious. However, once he was caught in a battle with a monster, he couldn't do it alone, he called for someone to help him, anyone at all. But none came to his aid, he managed to slay the beast, but not without severe, almost lethal, injuries. He left, leaving the place he protected for so long on it's own. That place was attacked again, and many had to flee, those that did not, died. Whenever he showed his face he was despised for abandoning the people and leaving them to die. How hypocritical that they did the same to him and he is to be punished. His hatred grew, as did his thirst for revenge, and this ate away at his heart and turned him hollow, a Nobody. Now he plans his vengeance, bidding his time and gathering power to show the world his wrath and take what he deserves.

That was an example of simple profiles. It's just simple stuff; nothing too code-like. But this profile had a good Bio..no Txt Talk, One-Liners.. Or Grammar Problems. So this is good if you just want to put down information and not go to details and write so much.

I am a 18 year old girl.
My life from the outside is weird, to others it seems as though I'm talking to myself. I seem happy when alone and talking to myself, yet im cold to everyone else. but in fact I'm a nice warm hearted person. I don't try being friendly to others because my ghost gets jealous, but I get away with politness. I try to help people whenever I can, and I wish I had more friends. That is an 'Improve' Profile. Now this is a type of skeleton you need to work on a little bit and follow it's directions. Like it says on the profile, she says what she doesn't want to hear from a Bio and you have to think really hard about it. All you work on a little bit more of is color and also what their middle and last name should be. Sometimes you don't have to, some would want the first and last name, others would want the middle name..which I think is difficult..

What The Union Doesn't Know...


Personality:The best word to describe Evelyn is guarded. She trusts a few and is suspicious of most. She's determined and focused, analytical and strategic. Her mind is like a mental filing cabinet and everything is in its own separate folder. This allows her to work for a Union organization and The Order at the same time. She knows which party she belongs to and keeps her mind clear enough to not fall in any traps. This allows her to directly infiltrate The Union. But, she often finds herself fighting the endless violent thoughts such as burning the entire lab to the ground.

History:Joseph and Sara Pennington were both Neuro-scientists who worked for the Cyberlabs of Canada. Their job was to examine the neural networks of Androids. When they wanted to start a family, they contacted the Union and were given two names. If the child was a male, it was to be named Elliot Charles. If it was a female, then the name was to be Evelyn Claire. A year later on an evening in May, Evelyn was born. Her parents were busy people so they hired an android-nanny to babysit her every afternoon after school. They got along and she loved her babysitter but she was also well aware that her sitter was not human. Every night, she would run to her parents and tell them her observations and then explain the differences between an android and a human. She was praised for her analytic mind and her keen observation skills. She also showed a great interest in computers and technology. She was always asking her parents how a certain gadget worked and what it was able to do. So it wasn't surprising that Evelyn went into the field of Computer Science at age sixteen.

She was a curious person and she always wanted to learn. It was during her training years that she learned something that changed her life. She was seventeen and she stumbled upon several members of The Order on her way out of a local cafe. They were speaking against the Union and she caught on to it. She approached them so she could warn them about the punishments but was dragged into a secret meeting place they had. That was when she met The General. Instead of questioning her motives, he took a leap of faith, trusted her and told her about the world before The Union. At first she didn't believe him. She was angry at the man for insulting their great government but still she could not push the stories from her mind. She returned to the cafe two weeks later, followed a girl to the meeting place, and listened to the stories.

She graduated from the training facility at age twenty and got a job as a system security officer for CyberLab of the US dome. Her parents were proud. She was happy but little did they know that their precious daughter switched loyalties. Evelyn joined the Order sometime in her twenty second year and decided to fight for a better world. Her job? Well, what better way to infiltrate The Union?

This is where you have to put their exact Height, Weight, Hair & Eye Color, Quotes, Job, Date of Birth.. well. Date of Birth would be on Improve Profiles but it always is on 'Literate' Rp Skeletons. And usually.. these profiles want you to make paragraphs.. PARAGRAPHS of Personality and Bio. And if you can't do that, they won't accept it due to you not being in the Literate Lvl.

So Please.. do not worry about the VERY Literate Profiles.. you don't have to join ever single Rp, but if you see a Rp that looks awesome yet have VERY literate profile skeletons in it they want you to do... I would suggest you try it out and see if you can test yourself and your literacy skills! Well. That is all for Lesson #2
