[. . . continued from St. Mark Slums]

Glasgow floated just ahead of William and Victoria. She was clutched on to him tightly as they navigated the seas of creatures and a few creatures who looked human. The marketplace was busy with countless tents set up for monsters to sell various goods. Weapons, books, ancient relics, food and drink. This place had everything one would need. The beholder led William and Victoria to a small but stable building nestled in between two larger but clearly condenmed commercialized buildings. The makeshift sign above the entrance read Paper Cut. Glasgow said nothing as he led them inside.

The shop it seemed was a general goods store. Glasgow had the selves stocked with topshelf topside food items and the best of the best from the bazaar outside. He led the pair to the counter where an old fifties cash register stood in moderate working order.
"Well here we are. Just keep the place from burning down and keep the customers coming in. This is my bazaar. So while your in its gated walls, you may roam freely. Take a look around. Get to know it. The knowledge will serve you well trust me."
The beholder left the shop to make his usual rounds around the bazaar, checking the comings and goings of guests.

[enter William and Victoria]

The pair had a notable bounce in their step as they walked through the gate of the Bazaar. They attributed this with the kind girl they'd met the night before and the small but noticable changes from their slave house. It was early and most of the small stands hadn't even opened for buisiness. Glasgow was in a corner argueing with a troll about his stand's placement. Other slaves were helping their respective owners set up shop and gather materials. William and Victoria made their way through the maze of stand canopies and unorganized product until they reached Glasgows humble shop. The bell above the door jingled as they went inside. William walkd over to the counter and started counting the money in the register and Victoria was walking around the store looking at the inventory. It was a perk to be in Glasgow's employ. His shop was self enclosed and didn't have to be packed up every night. Opening the store was a breeze. After setting everything up. William and Vitoria joined each other in waiting just outside the door, so they could watch the events of the morning unfold.

Kayli walked into the Bazaar looking around, she smiled at all the stores and the very few people here. She was mostly alone, she was glad. She couldn't handle being in a crowded place full of people. It was sickening, this was better. Nearly empty.

Kilik walked through the streets, staring at the booths. He had seen most of these items, and people. He stopped when he spotted a shop that was a building, rather than a booth. He walked over, marveling at it. He hadn't seen a building in a while, since he tried to stay away from cities.

Kate wandered around the streets, refraining to the sidelines, as if clinging to the shadows that were there. She tried to keep out of the way of the large crowds, eyeing each booth carefully. Most of the items at the booths she found were more affordable for someone like her, who had little money. But this time most of the items that she saw were out of her budget. Kate would sometimes catch the eye of a stranger, peering at them through her set of red-irised eyes, as if hoping that they would lend her some money. She sat down near the edge of a small building after having no luck. Kate's black hair blew in wisps around the frame of her pale face, pushed to the side from the wind. She wrapped her slender arms around herself for warmth, shivering. Kate lightly bit her lower lip in order to keep her teeth from chattering. Half of her heart was mechanical, and it often had agonizing malfuntions that send rapid shocks throughout her body. These shocks could easily be set off from little things, such as the cold. Kate squeezed her eyelids closed, breath coming out in small, cloudy puffs into the air.

Kilik noticed the girl, sitting there, freezing. He reached behind him, into his backpack, and pulled over a parka, walking to the girl. "You look like you're freezing your a** off. Here." Kilik said, offering the parka to the girl.

"Yeah, I am. Thanks." She said gratefully, red eyes flickering up to the stranger who had approached her. Kate immidiatly accepted the parka and wrapped it over her shoulders and arms, letting out a small sigh of content and releif as she slowly began to warm up. "Maybe I'll be able to afford a jacket or something like that of my own sometime..." She muttered under her breath. Kate's gaze snapped back to the ground, which was covered with a thin layer of recent snow. To most people, the snow probably would have seemed beautiful with it's crystal-white color, except for her. Kate hated the cold since it was constantly somthing that she seemed to have to deal with each day. She spotted a group of young children playing, building a snowman, wearing their little mittens and sweaters. Kate's right hand clenched into an automatic fist, her lips pressing together until they formed a thin line. She remembered when her life had used to be like that, so perfect, not full of worries. Kate watched the children for a moment, experiencing a shiver of envy run through her. She shook the unpleasant feeling away, trying to focus on somthing else. Her gaze wandered back up towards the stranger who had given her the parka. She openned her mouth to speak, but quickly closed it, lost for words.

"No need to thank me, no need to thank me." Kilik said, following her gaze. "Ahh, to be young like them again." He sighed, before he sat down. "What are you doing out here at this time of year, anyway? And why didn't you have a jacket or something?" Kilik asked.

"I have little money and have nowhere else to go. Most of the time I just travel from place to place. I usually never stay somewhere for too long." Kate responded in a strained voice, not liking to talk about subjects like this. Her eyes carefully scanned over the group of children. Kate noticed that one was a bit fatter than the other's. That child remained off to the side, like an outcast. It occured to Kate that he must be well-nourished and often fed, unlike her, and thought that he was lucky to be so fortunate. She almost wanted to walk over to that one child and encourage the other ones to not exclude him. Kate let out a small sigh and breifly looked up at the frosty blue sky. "So......you have a name?" She asked casually, letting out a small yawn.

"Hmm...yes. I suppose. Which one would you like?" Kilik asked chuckling, grabbing something else from his backpack. "Kilik Saiyaku. And yours?" He asked, pulling out a small red sack of something metal, as it jingled when it moved. He set it upon Kate's lap, and when opened it would reveal to be gold, and other types of currency from different lands.
"Me and you got something in common." Kilik said, winking at her. "I too, am a traveler."
