The story that was once gone between Arannis Desrani and Eri Hikami has passed the baton, as their children, Lyrandis and Terra, realize that the alternative being to Arannis' brother, Derahci, known as Siranae Desrani, has in fact, masterminded events both in her own multiverse as well as in the otherwise normal one, which we know as Mortalis. After the defeat of a hate-formed Arannis and Eri at the hands of their children, Siranae appeared, issuing a challenge where the kids have a choice to either follow her through the rift to Alternus and face extreme odds against them, or remain in Mortalis, a series of realms otherwise doomed to fall into utter darkness.

The Cast:

Lyrandis Desrani (done by Lyrandis Desrani - go figure)
Terra Desrani (done by Terra Desrani - again, go figure)
Sinnara Desrani (done by Lyrandis Desrani)
Ira Hikami (done by Terra Desrani)
The mods (Arannis and the Kami of the Divine Light)

Terra's mind still rang with Siranae's words as an intense feeling of hatred welling up.

"That monster!"

She turned to Lyrandis, a look of pained urgency on her face.

"We have to stop her!"

"You're one to talk, Terra..."

Sinnara's voice sounded for the first time since the battles with the children's parents.

"Sinnara, you're alright! But... I agree, with you both. Siranae can't be allowed to pull the strings on two entire multiverses, not if I have anything to say about it!"

Lyrandis came down to a knee, still somewhat pained from the prior fight.

"Hell, though... I wasn't expecting so much cunning."

Terra rushed to her brother's side, kneeling down beside him.

"This was difficult in and of itself. Is this what father and mother meant about a never-ending battle?"

Ira issued forth from the dagger, arms crossed solemnly. His gaze lingered up at the sky, frustrated at the newest turn of events.

Sinnara appeared, looking first, fondly, to Ira, but shaking her head, and looking to Terra.

"It is, indeed. Lyrandis showed you what he borrowed, then? Arannis and Eri stood for longer than either cared to live, forced into struggle after struggle. Fortune, however, found me as the writer of the tales, and not the combatant, herself."

Lyrandis nodded in agreement.

"But seriously... for one from a set of worlds that should never have existed - no offense, Sinnara, Ira... to be pulling the strings here on Mortalis? There is no end to wickedness, is there...?"

Ira shook his head sadly and looked to Lyrandis.

"Sadly there is not, but that also varies depending on one's viewpoint. What is considered wickedness to one might be justified to another. You saw that yourself just now as you faced your parents' likeness. Were they justified in their emotions, or has that only led to more darkness?"

"Ira... you do realize, don't you... that I would have become the same as the darkened Arannis, had these children not intervened? And you... unfortunately, even our blessed Kami is susceptible, as I have seen both directly and indirectly... You would have been no different. Somehow, in Alternus' creation, not only were we created the opposites of our Mortalis entities, but also the conditional resulted failures from Mortalis, as well..."

Lyrandis' shock was clearly evident.

"What?! You mean to tell us that now we've taken on the Alternus of a given reality?"

Ira's gaze lowered as he stared hard into the ground beneath. Knowing too well the truth in Sinnara's words.

Terra watched silently, her shoulders sinking.

"So no matter what we do, others will keep coming?"

Lyrandis pondered his sister's question for a while, then shook his head.

"No... It seems to me that if Siranae is behind all of this, we need only track her down, which inevitably puts us through this very rift, here... But we'll need a point to start searching. Sinnara, you always did well with the books. Where did Arannis even meet Eri, in the first place?"

"D-Divinus... but are you certain of this, Lyrandis? There's no telling what may have happened in Alternus in the last five millenia. We could all be overrun on sight! What's to say that this isn't walking into suicide?"

"...And who's to say that I'm going to stand back and let that damned twit rule all of Mortalis from off to the side? Terra, are you with me?"
PostPosted: Tue Oct 12, 2010 10:59 am

Terra nodded firmly to her brother.

"Always, Lyrandis. We will put an end to Siranae."

Ira looked at the two sibling's resolution, the turned to Sinnara, an exasperated smile on his face.

"We can't very well let them go alone, can we?"

Sinnara giggled some, but steadied herself.

"We do have the choice, you know, to free ourselves and resign to the equals of what fell not too long ago. But! I have no such intentions, so I remain bound to Lyrandis, regardless."

Lyrandis looked out to the horizon, silently bidding farewell for now to Mortalis, as he stepped through the gaping rift.

Ira gestured before him to the opening, allowing all others to enter before joining them.

Terra ran straight ahead, not wanting to miss a second of what was in store.

Through the rift, the pair found themselves at a place not unlike the fallen Celestia from Mortalis, although the color scheme matched much better to a place fitting for the Alternus-bound Celestial race that Sinnara represented. The feeling of darkness loomed everywhere; more to the point, Infernal darkness. The rift vanished as soon as Terra came though, forcing Sinnara and Ira back into their respective blades.

Terra looked around at the dark realm as a small feeling of unease surfaced within her. For a moment, she felt as though it might have been better had they stayed put, but she shook this off and glared at the oppressive surrounding.

"Where to from here?"

Sinnara's voice sounded, though she herself did not appear.

"She would put us on Celestia, wouldn't she...? Children, Ira, the memories of all the travels you know will likely be put to use all throughout Alternus. Be wary, though... Celestia in Mortalis was under no such dire duress when we were there. Things have indeed taken a far worse turn than I had predicted... Use caution to the extreme, I beg of you."

Lyrandis looked around, and nodded slowly in agreement. He looked to Terra.

"Given no choice in the matter, eh? Sounds... awfully, familiar. Here..."

He held out his hand, readying to submit his every borrowed memory to his sister.
