Name: Ataenushi Okunen
Nickname(s): Oku, The Blood Hound
Gender: Male
Age: 20
Height: 5’11”
Weight: 156 lbs
Sexual Preference: Male
Origin: Takigakure
Appearance:
Oku
Personality:
When taking in account his childhood spent among the ANBU and his life as a ninja taking part in individual independent missions with no teammates, it’s really a surprise how Oku’s personality turned out. Like the average stereotypical ANBU, Oku can come off as cold and suspicious, as well as elite. However, he isn’t limited to just that. He can also be warm, open, and comedic at times too. An ANBU who has a personality? Well, the key here is, as it always is, moderation. Oku isn’t retarded enough to let his more joking personality take hold during an important priority mission or hunt, yet he isn’t an anti-social douchebag. During the rare breaks when he doesn’t have an urgent mission, he freely converses with anybody at a whim.
Don’t be completely fooled, however. If any enemy sees Oku’s warm side, so much better for Oku. People tend to underestimate others who show a sliver of emotion. Yet, while seriously fighting, Oku can still be rather annoying, on purpose too. Not only is insulting people fun at times, he can piss them off until they can’t properly concentrate on battle. For those who lock up their emotions and throw away the key, well it’s not like Oku isn’t a skilled fighter. Essentially, it would be wise to not make judgments on Oku immediately. At the same note, neither is his personality easily described in depth. Like all people, when such an act is attempted everything sounds like a paradox.
Weapons:
Aside from the regular arsenal of kunais, shurikens, exploding tags, and smoke bombs, Oku carries around a broken nodachi with a good chunk of the blade broken off in combat. Yet, for some sentimental reason, Oku didn’t discard it. Instead, he worked on a jutsu that allowed him to channel his lightning chakra into the blade and forming a shocking extension at will.

Boss Summoning: The Grand Kyokujira
No, I’m not joking, The Grand Kyokujira is a gigantic flying whale. In fact, all of Oku’s whales can fly, but that’s beside the point. The Grand Kyokujira is a giant a** whale, if you couldn’t tell, that is around ten times the size of a blue whale, the largest animal known to exist, putting the Grand Kyokujira at around 1,080 feet and 2,000 short tons, making it gigantic. Although he is able to fly by utilizing his ballasts, the Grand Kyokujira can also create an orb of water around him with up to a mile diameter, with the orb centering in on him. This allows the Grand Kyokujira better maneuverability. He is also able to eject a large amount of water from his mouth, which Oku can combine with his lightning techniques to electrify somebody. The Grand Kyokujira is also capable of increasing his ballast, bringing him down over a large area and destroying it absolutely. Gigantic barnacles also extend all over the Grand Kyokujira, giving it a nearly impenetrable armor in certain areas as well as a symbiotic relationship with giant barnacles that can ensnare somebody within their tentacles when an enemy gets too close. The tentacles of the barnacles are also capable of producing an electrical shock to stun whatever falls into its grasp. Unfortunate shinobis will often then find themselves torn from limb to limb as they get shoved into the shell of the barnacles and devoured. The Grand Kyokujira also enjoys singing.

Biography:
Being born of the Ataenushi Clan, Oku was among the few members of his clan taken at only a few months old by the ANBU to train his unique Kekkei Genkai. Although his parents had protested, it was the obligatory minimal. More children could always be had and this was something to be expected of. Besides, being taken by the ANBU was a sign that the child was destined to become one of the strongest ninjas in the village. Nobody trains with the ANBU for a long time without either becoming extremely successful or burn out in training, equivalent to death. When raised with the right mindset as a child, a large majority would not burn out. So in the ANBU headquarters, raised by one specific constantly masked member, Oku grew up. Many wouldn’t consider it the ideal place to raise a child; some would even go as far as calling it immoral. Perhaps they were right, but it was practically a way of life for a few of them. Not only that, the very existence of the Ataenushi clan is kept hidden, much less the fact that a select few receive special training from childhood.
As a young child, Oku couldn’t really begin to learn Taijutsu and engage in actual combat. He was too small, weak, and fragile for that. Instead, he was taught the techniques and information most academy students learned and needed to graduate. Since that was pretty much all he could do, and with the amount of training he was required, even forced, to do, Oku had quickly learned and mastered the basics that the average academy student twice his age had just begun to learn. Yet his strength could hardly be considered phenomenal. Slowly, he advanced to training his power around the age of ten. Often times he had taijutsu only sparring matches with the other much older ANBU members. Needless to say, Oku got his a** handed to him on a silver platter nearly every time. They hadn’t taught him any fighting styles, the ANBU wanted to see if he could develop his own when put in the right conditions. Turns out that idea wasn’t all that farfetched. As time progressed, Oku had begun to develop a unique sort of fighting style that seemed to mesh together that of the various ANBUs. All at once it was familiar yet different without a necessarily clear line of approach. With his small status, Oku had to learn, through trial and error, ways to grapple with older, heavier, and more experienced people. Of course, Oku never won a single bout, that’d be an insult to the ANBU if he had. Each time though, he had some new trick up his sleeve to use on them.
After around more four years of training with the ANBUs, Oku had “graduated”, in a sense. Instead of becoming a genin, they skipped that tier and immediately promoted him to a chuunin. He wasn’t assigned a team to be a part of, instead they wanted him to become much more independent. The missions he was sent on weren’t simple missions, they often averaged out at three months per mission, an incredibly long time to carry out a mission single-handedly. It was all part of the training; really to make sure Oku would be an ideal Ataenushi ANBU. With his tracker-like Kekkei Genkai, he could spend months in search of one person, having to follow through nearly their exact footsteps, making tracking something that required patience and good level of independence to do. Spending five years doing these sorts of missions, only getting to pop into the village once every now and then for a short time when he turned in one mission before receving another, Oku was practically ordered to take part in the Jounin exams. His field experience and expertise quickly allowed him to breeze through them with almost no trouble. Becoming a jounin, the ANBU quickly recruited Oku back among their ranks, eventually rising to the top as many had expected him to.
After some time, the former leader of the Takigakure, who was sure to be the first Takikage, had passed away. Instead, a young girl of around 18, just two years younger than Oku, ended up replacing the former leader and had become the first Takikage instead. Due to her young age, many were worried about her, especially the ANBU leader. Although she already had a bodyguard of sorts, Oku was also assigned to her, a “just in case” from the ANBU. They did not want to the Takikage dying and wanted to keep a close eye on her two, killing two birds with one stone.
Clan Name: Ataenushi
Village Alignment: Takigakure
Clan Description and History:
The Ataenushi Clan's origins were back in the times where settled civilization was unheard of with tribes of people moving from place to place. "Ataenushi" wasn't an actual clan name, but the title given the people who were the equivalent of what are also known as shamans. However, after a certain time, an ability began to develop with certain members of the tribe, an ability that allowed them to peer into the past of a certain area or object. These were the people chosen as Ataenushi and their offspring bore the same ability. Although there were only one Ataenushi per generation, the family itself began to be known as the Ataenushi too. Eventually, when the tribe settled down, the necessity of Ataenushi slowly began to dwindle with each passing generation, the original title had no meaning and it was simply a surname now. Many members of the family also did not do anything to pursue their powers here, only certain families within the clan actually maintained the knowledge of this ability, often creating a separate sub-clan within the clan, representing the members who had the famous Ataenushi ability of looking into the past.
The power was never boasted about or thrown around, due to secrecy and superstition of the times, the fact that many clan members did not have the power aided in the illusion presented that they were normal people. Eventually, as more time passed, nations grew and Hidden Villages were raised, villages that were supposed to be for training shinobis, who had special powers. As a result, a large majority of the Ataenushi members who kept in touch with their powers migrated towards the closest village, famously known as Takigakure, the Village Hidden in the Waterfalls. Joining in the village, the children joined the Academy, yet their powers remained hidden, rarely used. When they were used it was disguised as some form of tracking. The years passed and the Ataenushi Clan survived from the shadows, living through the turmoil of war and destruction and internal strife of Takigakure.
It wasn't until recently that their powers had come to light within Takigakure, and generally only along the higher ups. People with such powers were generally coveted for their abilities, peering into the past meant they could easily track somebody down and any diversions set would be seen set. On a few rare occasions, certain members of the clan have even been specially trained from a young age by select Jounin or ANBUs to fully cultivate their potential with training, often those few who have been trained in turn become members of the ANBU themselves.
Clan Primary Elements: Memory
Clan Techniques:
The members of the Ataenushi have a unique ability to tap into the residual 'memory' of a person, area, or object as long as they are within contact with it. Especially if the person is 'broken', this makes the Ataenushi ideal for extracting information from prisoners or for tracking. In combat, there often isn't enough time to gather too much information from a combatant, but if properly restrained then extracting information then just depends on the mental capabilities of the person and the memories that they consider most important, consciously or subconsciously, often allowing an Ataenushi to view important parts of their life.
When dealing with a certain area, Ataenushis can view up to a certain area around them and need to be stationary for about three seconds to find what they need and file it away in their memories. This means that they'll likely to find the location of their enemies base or even be used to spy on their training. Tapping into the residual memory of an object is a bit different although. When in contact with an object, the Ataenushi can learn about a person for as long as the object was in contact with them also, which segues into another interesting concept. The more advanced members of the clan can, when viewing a memory, tap into the thoughts of the people present and see what they thought, but only the thoughts they had during the time of the memory.
The Ataenushi's power also works on themselves too, meaning they can instantly recall any memory they have, especially the ones they have used their Kekkei Genkai on to find, meaning they can review memories over and over again, allowing them a great deal of strategical knowledge. They also possess the ability to 'project' these memories over a certain area, preferably a wide-open space, to allow others to view them too.
Novice [Genin] – The first stage, Ataenushi genins are the most limited in their abilities to use their Kekkei Genkai. Although they have perfect recall, they cannot exert their power over people, cannot look into other's peoples thoughts, cannot project memories, and can only detect up to a twenty feet diameter around them when looking into an area.
Skilled [Chuunin] – The next stage, more of their powers are expressed in the Chuunin stage. Now they can tap into the residual memory of people, places, and objects and have the ability to project memories. When dealing with the residual area of a certain area, they can detect up to a fifty feet diameter, yet are still unable to tap into the thoughts of the people they see in the residual memories.
Adept [Jounin/Anbu] – The third stage, the people in this stage are Jounin and Anbus, this allows them to tap into the thoughts of people they detect in the residual memories, giving them a great advantage and an ability to figure out where they are heading by thoughts. The area of effect of their area detection has also increased to a hundred and fifty feet in this stage.
Master [Kage/S-Ranked Criminals] – The highest level stage, rarely reached by members of the clan, surpasses the rest. The range of their area of their memory tapping has increased to three hundred feet. At this power, the Ataenushis can even implant memories. Of course it isn’t as straight forward as that, if the memory conflicts outright with any of the other person’s memory, it can often be subconsciously rejected. Yet, small things can be placed in, perhaps seeing a specific person in a specific place among the crowd of often forgotten faces.
