Alekto was kinda bored. There were only so many ways to entertain oneself when traveling alone, and she had gone through all of them. She wasn't hungry, thirsty, or tired. 'So what to do,' she thought, humming tunelessly and lightly battling the local flora with her giant paws.

A black clump of fur lay besides a small rock, streaks of white standing out perfectly against the dark coat. The steady fall of the side staring at the sky fell in an easy rhythm, alerting everyone else of the sleeping mass. Slightly hidden in the shade on a fairly nice day, Deimos couldn't resist a small nap. He had had a nice dinner beforehand and had nothing else to do.
Just before he could enter the dream state, he woke with a fright as something collided with his stomach. Jumping to his feet, he barely noticed the rabbit that bounded off in the opposite direction. Backing up, his paw came against the rock behind him and he tripped, tumbling backwards onto his back.
"Ow..." he gasped, something poking him in the back. Shifting his weight around like a worm until it was at a comfortable angle, he than noticed the other presence. Looking up, he realized he had landed in front of another Hollow. Shooting them a shy grin at his sudden appearance, he greeted them. "Hello. Sorry to come crashing in front of you."

Alekto drummed a paw of the ground as she tried to think of what she made of this male. 'Humorous and klutzy,' she decided. Now it was just up to the male to prove her right, or prove to Alekto that changing her opinion would be justified.
"That's alright," she drawled. Looking over the male she decided to add 'handsome' to the list. "Kinda kills any majesty that you'd have strolling along upright though," she added.
Alekto lowered first her front half, then her lower half to the ground so she was more on level with the male. "Got a name, stranger?"

Deimos kept quiet the entire time the female was getting down eye level with him. When she was staring him in the eye, he shifted his body weight on the opposite side of where she was until he was laying on his side.
"Wouldn't really refer to myself as majestic," he commented as he stood up and shook himself, giving his tail a little flick behind him. None of it was in her direction. Flicking the end of ones tail in the fact of another wasn't very polite. And he couldn't feel any dirt on his coat. "Though I'm not generally clumsy, either way," he added, turning around to face her and sit down. Curling his tail across one hindquarter, he gave his head one last shake to rid himself of sleep. "Deimos. Because of my color, I assume." Lowering his head, he cocked it to one side as was his manner. "And yours, lady?"

"Alekto," she said, grinning. "I don't think it has to do to with my color so much as my personality."
Alekto dainty crossed one of her front paws over the other, bright orange claws scrapping the ground. "So, Deimos, if you aren't given to bouts of clumsiness how'd you begin the, doubtless fascinating, series of events that left you sprawled on the ground in front of me?"

Deimos grinned sheepishly, a little embarrassed at his little stunt earlier. "Oh, just one of those rare encounters where a small furry animal misjudges where they're running and bumps into you while you're sleeping. Didn't help that a rock happened to be behind me." He chuckled, thinking about how comical it would be if he were in her position, walking in an area he thought was uninhabited. "Tripping on it is what brings us here."
"Alekto," he repeated, testing the name on his tongue. "I like it. Never heard of it before. What does it mean?" he asked, one ear twitching at a stray fly landing on it.

Alekto's grin was somewhere between friendly and a smirk. "I was named after one of the three Furies, Alecto, Megaera, and Tisiphone. They are "unceasing", "grudge", and "retribution". Alecto is "unceasing."
She shrugged her shoulders nonchalantly. "I changed one of the letters, but the pronounciation and meaning are still the same." Now she tilted her head to fully gauge Deimos' reaction. "I suppose the name fits me. I'm not very flexible, in the metaphorical sense, of course."

Flicking his bushy tail to the other side, the black male was glad his little incident wasn't elaborated on. He was telling the truth when he said he wasn't usually clumsy, so his introduction to the pretty blue Hollow was most embarrassing for him. He silently hoped he wasn't now being tagged as a klutz in her mind. He liked the orange markings on her fur. The wavy pattern made him think of what water looks like under the waves.
Deimos tilted his head forward a little, showing his interest in hearing what her name meant. "Stubborn one, are we?" he chuckled, turning one ear backwards for a second to listen to a loud snap of a branch in the forest. Confirming quickly it wasn't a threat, his ear turned back forward. "Or just highly determined in what you do?" Whether or not an amused reaction was her purpose, it was what she was getting. He wasn't bothered by a lot of personalities. A stubborn one wasn't anything to be shocked or run away from.

"I don't know about 'we', but I certainly can be stubborn," Alekto teased. "Highly determined in what I do, you can say that. I guess the best summary is that when I make up my mind, I rarely change it."
Her ears flicked reflexivly to the sound behind her, but she paid it no mind. In the forest things were always moving around, if one cared to sit still long enough to listen.
"So, Mr. Deimos, what's your story? Do you live around here, or just passing through?"

Deimos chuckled at her tease. He liked a Hollow with a sense of humor. Life was too short to be serious all the time. "Not 'we', indeed," he agreed. In fact, the only personalities he couldn't stand were the cruel ones. There just wasn't any excuse for it. "I'm hardly stubborn." It wasn't much of an answer after her better picked words. He always had problems giving back witty or funny responses to others.
"I live wherever I sleep, really," the dark male replied matter-of-factly. "I like moving around. Meeting different people. What about you?"

Alekto shrugged nonchallantly. "I guess it's about the same for me. I've got a twin, Etheria, so for the most part we stick together. Every now and then we need to get away from each other, just so we can do our own things."
A light breeze ruffled her bright blue fur, swirling around to tweak her ears before leaping to transfer affection to Deimos. Alekto shook her head, flipping fur out of her eyes. "This area is new to me so far."

The dark male closed his eyes for a second, enjoying the wind's gentle caress. He loved the feel of the breeze on his fur and dewdrops clinging to each fine hair after it rained. He was a real outdoors man. Another reason why he never kept up residence somewhere else. Or made a den like other wolves sometimes did. He couldn't imagine just staying on one area his entire life. Guess that meant he would never join a pack. Not unless it was a roaming one or he was the leader.
Once the moment passed, he opened his eyes and returned all his attention on Alekto. "A twin?" he repeated with slight interest. "Never met a twin before. I haven't seen any of my own family for so many years." True, he couldn't remember the last time he had seen a relative of his. They lived farther away. In one of those packs that like to pick a single area to call their own. That wasn't Deimos.
Lifting his head for a moment, he gave a sniff at the air above his head. His tail flicked at all the odors carried on the breeze. The trees, grass, flowers. Some deer and rabbits. Even a few other Hollows. "I've been here maybe about two days. Some new faces, but that's about it. Haven't seen a pack in a while."

Alekto nodded. "You'd know she's my twin the instant you saw her, but our colors differ. She's mainly green with pink stripes. Besides the coloring our patterns are identical." She had to admit she missed her sister. It happened, being a bit of a wanderer, but she did her best to go back and visit often.
"I haven't seen an actual pack in a long time, not since I was a pup," Alekto mused, her gaze joining Deimos'. "It was a small one my parents were a part of. I don't think there were more than half a dozen of us. They took it hard when I wandered away." She still remembered those howls, a mixed message of anger and sadness, and how she'd had to flee their aggressive alpha.

Deimos nodded his head in response as he lowered his gaze back to the real world, images of black wolves fading from his mind. "Why did you leave?" In typical fashion, he titled his head a little, showing his interest in the subject at hand. It was an old habit of his he didn't even remember getting. "If I may ask, of course. I don't mean to pry too much."
He hoped she didn't think he was. He really wasn't. He was just curious about everyone else around him. All he knew most of his life was his own family. "My own pack was just a bunch of relatives. Nothing too colorful, in all aspects of that saying."

Alekto shook her head. "Let's just say in the world of those who are stubborn, there's not many things worse than going up against an Alpha," she said, voice bitter and eyes darkening slightly. She pushed away at the memories, not really wanting to revisit them.
