Hi! I'm Damara Lilt, but you can call me Dama, Dam, Ara, or Flit.
I am 19 years old, and I am a female that likes the masculine side of the circle.
My reason for being here is I am Josephine's friend, I've heard all these stories before, I never expected to actually go.
To make a long story short, me and my mom do not get along as well as some perhaps, but we love each other to death. I am a daddy's girl however and we do a lot of things together. My family is perhaps a little old fashioned, we still turn the TV off at mealtimes and my mom does not leave the house much, but hey, somethings just don't change. Life has been good for me, I have lived in this town all my life, went to school with all the same people, therefore I have a good number of friends. I was given my own responsibilities since I was young and rewarded when they were done properly and scolded when I did not, I'm told this has made me a better person. Whatever that means.
My friends say that I'm not shy, but certainly not the most extroverted person in the world. I tend to be very restless and am regularly on the move, earning myself the gag nickname Flit. Although I get bored easily I have found that it is easier for my friends to amuse than it is for others to put up with me, I tend to be a little quiet, until I feel I am needed then I am plenty capable of taking the lead. Usually I just brush things off and move on, but perhaps you can find my hitch? Really I have never been all that angry, but my mom has a temper that I have worked hard to keep myself from gaining. I spend a lot of time lost in thought, wondering about things most people would not take into consideration.
Oh, I really like books, imagination, and adventure, but I really hate disorganization, anger, and people without a sense of humor.
Sure I have a song! It's Float On by Modest Mouse
One more thing! Did I mention that I get bored easily? *paces*
My parent is The Resting Wolf.

Return to Labyrinth (forum)
HISTORY(pictures have been removed for space purposes, her posting style can be viewed under the TESTING thread)
*********************************
Damara wolfed down her sandwich and scrambled out of the kitchen and up the ladder that was pulled down in the hallway. Surfacing, she found it to be a tad musty, but that was normal. They just could not quite get rid of that 'attic' odor. With a grin she plopped onto the floor, bracing her back against both walls of her corner seat. Dam tended not to stay seated for long, but today she was rather relaxed, the rain did that to her. So she would settle for planning their next big adventure, and of course by that she meant the next possible trip to the mall.Leaning her head back she drifted into her own thoughts, waiting for the others to get up there so they could pull up the stairs, even though Jo's parents were not home, the old privacy act was habit. Her fingers drummed lightly on the floor absentmindedly as she wandered through the crevices of her own mind.
*********************************
Dam found herself at snapped back to the current with the words labyrinth. It had been a while since that subject came up, a couple of years actually and she scooted across the floor to watch Josephine shuffle through the old familiar papers.
Sure enough there were a couple of miscellaneous items tucked in their, but pages of Jo's younger handwriting scrawled across most of them, doodles, memories that had almost been buried. Dama watched her friend closely as she leaned back in her bean chair and recognized the sparkle that was coming into her eyes. She was planning some kind of trouble. Flit found herself on her feet pacing restlessly as Joey voiced her idea.
"I don't know Jose, but I bet it could be fun." The original story flashed through her mind as she giggled at the things Josephine would probably say to Jareth if she ever came in contact with him personally. Actually that thought almost made her shudder. Poor Jareth. "All those twisting changing corridors that look the same in the maze, I'd have a blast." Now that she was kind of excited she began to wander what was taking everybody else so long to get up here.
*********************************
Flit dropped into a nearby bean chair and watched her dear friend with worried eyes. The worry was her own as much as it was for Jo. The truth was as bright as Flit was she was kind of scared about graduating. Well not graduating so much as the the separation that she knew was sure to follow. The chances of them all going to the same college were slim to none. Most of them had never left this town, much less the state, and their group was rarely separated anyway, you need a crowbar to pry them apart from time to time.
"I don't know either, Jose. I don't mind the graduation part so much I guess as the separation afterwards. Congrats on your scholarship though!" Flit shook her head and thought about her own plans. She was going into criminal investigation at a college 93 hours away from here on a full scholarship as well. "Things are going to be so different."
*********************************
Dam glanced up at Ash and Abel as they made their way into the rather spacious attic. Slipping back where she tended to stay she listened to their conversation. The group seemed a bit sullen today, the reason was a good one however. Time was moving to fast for her preference, for all of them really. Graduation gowns were in the closets, invites were sent out and thank you notes were at the ready and parties were being planned.
The more she thought about the more distant it all seemed to become, and yet again she found herself pacing the floor. It was a habit she was very prone too, especially when restless, the others were used to although some were not all that fond of it, but hey, it happens. Her own thoughts soon wondered back to Joey's crazy idea about going to labyrinth. It would be so much fun, but what were the chances?
*********************************
Flit snorted at the mental picture of Jose as a panda. The young woman was not sure if it was more amusing that she could actually picture Jose as a panda or, well, Jose being a panda. Flit stifled her giggles as Jo moved on to more serious thoughts. Crawling across the floor she gulped down the rest of her milk from her glass in the corner. Then she flipped over and popped her hands up behind her head. Jose suddenly had her attention, she was talking about going to labyrinth again. It almost made Dama wonder if she knew how to get there. Then again she is Sarah's daughter after all.
"We could go. Surely you know the words? I mean your mom has told you the story right?" Flit sat up, bubbling with excitement now. It could be a lot of fun and she was desperate for a new adventure.
