I'm a big Le Tigre fan. I know that they are sometimes defined as feminist elctro-punk... but since I know NOTHING about electro or anything vaguely related... do you think you could give me a brief history maybe? And tell me if Le Tigre are actually somewhat electro? I could use the lesson. xd

I could use the lesson. xd I personally am not fond of electro...so I couldn't tell ya much. however, I do know a user "GlassBox" that might know something about the genre since he made a pretty killer mix out of it.

Well, 'electro' is a pretty broad term. Just like 'electronica' is. It's a term that usually just puts something into a large category.
VNV Nation (ebm) could be considered electro, but yet so can't Skinny Puppy (industrial). You see? I don't believe it's a genre, really... So, as for it's 'history, I guess you need yo trace it back to Kraftwerk back in the early-mid 70s.
