i'm back to report that i've kicked my hot cocoa addiction for good. it was hard, i still want that warm, sugary treat. but oh well. gotta be strong right?

The HFCS dilemma gets to me, too. I stopped drinking soda, for the most part, and I don't do a lot of fruit juice, either. (Beware: "juice made from concentrate" can very easily mean there's high fructose corn syrup in the concentrate and they're just not telling you.) It's trickier with bread, and sometimes my wallet decides for me -- but I figure keeping my intake lower is better than eating it all the time.
Really, though, the only problem is in buying fresh ingredients and cooking from scratch, instead of pre-made things. Cooking kind of sucks sometimes, but at least you know what you're eating that way.
