How do you guys deal with it? And its horrid ways of killing self esteem and creating pushy stereotypes? Or the lack of creativity and that EVERYONE THINKS YOUR A LESBIAN.
not that being lezi is bad, it just sucks when you arent and everyone assumes. *sigh* anyway. your thoughts?

My first year of high school was effin' terrible. My friends and I were, for the most part, ousted by our schoolmates. I became so depressed that I didn't know what to do with myself. I guess I sorta shut down for a while. I didn't communicate with my friends very well, I got bad grades, I fought with my parents constantly. I just gave up on trying and let all of the negativity take a hold of me.
Whatever you do, DO NOT let this happen to you. And if you are feeling like this, do something about it.
I eventually managed to motivate myself to try a little harder. I started going to a peer counseling group at school, became perhaps a little more vocal and confident in myself. I still had a lot of problems through high school, but with every year, I tried a little harder, and it really helped me in the long run.
You can't let the stereotypes or the bullying get to you, really. In the end, you just have to think that the name-callers and the s**t-talkers have such low self-esteem themselves that they feel the need to make others feel like they do. In high school, EVERYONE feels a little anxious about themselves. You just can't let other people make it worse.
Find someone you can connect with and talk to. Laugh at the people who make fun of you. Be yourself and be proud knowing that you're the person you are, not the person that they think you are.

I cant remember much before highschool but i'm pretty sure it was okay.
Freshman year was awesome but terrible at the same time. I came in being one of the "fresh whores" so everybody kept wanting to get up on me. unfortunately i let guy in, and afterwards he treated me like i was nothing, and i was ******** preggers. drugs came into the picture and sadly the baby died. i felt superbly depressed for a while but that year i had all my friends to support me and helped me get through.
I cant remember much of my sophmore year...so it was pretty much boring. my best friend had died over the summer so i came in super depressed and i shut out alot of people in my life. I for reals only had like five friends. i do remember getting in a fight at church and the next monday everyone new about it, contragulating my for "winning"

I'm just now a freshman, but so far its okay i guess, I'm on the student council so that gives me some leverage over the preps... I am Gothic and so is my gf so i get a lot of s**t thrown at me. I'm slowing finding new friends. the only reason i even go to school is to see my gf... i have only like 4 good friends other than her. I just met this person named Shane and i think that can make my friend list up to 5. Most of my teachers like me cause I'm different, but I'm sick of them already.. they are to happy and yea... so basically I have an okay high school experience so far. I'm hoping it stays fun.

I personally, have found that if I try to be anything but myself I'm not happy, so this year I decided to do whatever I wanted to do. And be whoever I wanted to be. I no longer care about the opinion of others, and for every death glare I recieve I smile. Because I know I'm happier then they. They have to live up to the expectations of their friends, and be who they're supposed to be. While I'm over in the corner, having a great time headbanging to my ipod all alone (or with LaLa, depending)
And every time I get a hate crime shove in the hall way, or a malicious laugh, or someone eyeing my combat boots with distaste, I laugh. And this mentality just makes school so much more amusing. Because I don't let the bitches get to me. Which just makes them angrier. And me laugh harder.

gawd, you guys have actually issues at your school! it makes mine feel pathetic... but my only problem at the moment is a friend of mine is running away to her fathers house in about two weeks so i'm gonna miss her like hell... but i'm also in 8th grade... so maybe nothing has happened yet...
other then that, its basically defending my beliefs (like i'm not homophobic, and like everyone at my school is... except my best friend... shes into the whole freard thing cuz of me...), and that i'm not 'emo' cuz i wear black and listen to actual music unlike the pop/rap garbage scene my whole ******** class is in...

im a sophmore now, and i'm lucky enough to go to a school where stereotypes doesnt really exist. i mean you see it there but no1 cares. no1 is made fun of or picked on because of how they dress like sure rumors start about somethings but no1 really is bullied. i guess i'm lucky in that sense plus i'm like a mix of stereotypes, i'm dressd like a goth/scene but i'm also on the soccer and track team, i used to be in basketball and i get along with just about every1, almost every1 i know gets along with alot of people, we may not like some of them but we dont call them names or see any1 bullied or anything. the most we see is when the "cholo's/preps" get into fights with one another, but its because of some problems they have with each other because they used to be friends, alot of the schools in the LA area are like this
