For five millenia, The Lone Peacemaker, Arannis, and the Kami of Divine Light, Eri, have stood side-by-side in countless struggles of good and evil, light and darkness. 5000 years, unable to see peace across the planes, but now their goal is at last in sight. However, only these two solitary figures remain of their past, and their destination is none other than a modern-day Earth, full of its militaristic society, and with an attitude that is not going to take kindly to any magic-users appearing. How long, then, can this fated pair hold out?

Arannis stared out of a window, Eri close by. His perpetual frown slowly faded, and gradually grew into something of a faint smile. He turned to face Eri, eyes full of compassion, sorrow, grief, understanding, and so much more.

"Eri, you should know... although only this one world remains to be made peace of, we will not succeed in this effort. For so long, humanity has made war against others, now we find ourselves coming to a world where they make war against each other. I will hear what you have to say, ask... anything, and then there is something I must say also."

Eri nodded, understanding full well that this would certainly be the end.

"How much time left is there, or is that not predetermined?"

She nervously folded her hands, even after all this time not ready for this final fight.

"Nothing is predetermined, if one does not submit to fate, which brings me to something I had only recently discovered.... For 5000 years, the two of us have faced a fate far worse than death itself, all in the name of destiny. All of our callings, they were not voluntary movements of our own, but a summons or an action forced upon us. I suspect this last struggle will not outlast the week, though. I have seen a glimpse of this world, and their means of warfare is far surpassing any I've seen prior to this."

He stopped then, taking a deep breath to stabilize himself.

"These times will be harsh at best, though in all of it, I ask that you remember this much... for 5 millenia, we have fought darkness and evil side-by-side. For the same 5 millenia, I have not once even dreamed of giving my love to any other. When this is over, the both of us undone, there is a place between the mortal realms and the netherworld, called the 'Last Blood Cafe'. I once came there, 3000 years ago. If nothing else, we may find some semblance of living peace there."

She thought about this. Peace, a feeling so far forgotten that she was not sure if it even existed in the first place.

"I would like that very much, Arannis. I am thankful that my time amongst the living was spent with you, and would like nothing more than to have that in the next realm."

She risked a small smile, and took a wary glance out the nearby window.

"I will do my best against the remaining darkness, though I pray that our efforts will not be temporary."

Arannis put a hand to the side, opening a blue portal.

"Eri, darkness is done away with, now. As the struggle of good and evil subside, another set of war-bringing ideals rises to take its place. Here, the light is but the two of us, facing against those both for Justice and Supremacy."

Arannis stepped through the portal, arriving at a mountainside overlooking a large military encampment.

Eri followed after, looking around.

"I am ready."

Her eyebrows creased in worry, and she thought back to the many times that they had won the fight for the Light.

(I'm going to need some named military people for this. I'm only going to GM in grunts and the occasional big thing.)

A fighter jet flew overhead, its pilot finding a strange mark on his radar, and he reported it over the radio. Before even a minute had passed, wave after wave of marines flooded out of the encampment, all armed to the teeth.

"And so begins the final chapter..."

Arannis extended his wings, launching himself upward, as his body formed into an iron-skinned replica, holding a hand out to Eri and putting her in a similar state. A series of light arcs came from behind him, quickly bearing down on multiple marines, as they disintegrated entirely from the impact.

The Kami opened her own wings and hovered above the ground.

"May you all find peace on the other side."

Tears started to flow unhindered as she held her arms out, beams of light extending toward the approaching foes.

The infantry units paused only long enough to set their sights on the winged opponents, firing away at the obviously hostile newcomers. In the midst of the gunfire - which had mostly been vainly oppositional against the iron-skinned pair - a solitary tank rolled out from a nearby bunker, setting its sights on Eri.

Arannis' periphery caught sight of the oncoming tank and he hurriedly turned to face it, putting his hands together and firing a ray of light as wide as he was tall at it, piercing through the heavy armor and forcing an explosion of it before he came down, attempting to dodge the anticipatory shrapnel.

A Silver portal crackled and ripped apart the Twilight Sky between the two adversaries. A familiar being appeared now, his blonde hair blowing in the breeze, his grey-blue eyes scanning the surroundings. A Katana radiated a Silver Aura from this person's back, as he was dressed quite properly.

"You guys again..? For crying out loud, I'm getting pretty tired of always having to intervene.." he said, his eyes looking towards both groups, sitting on top of Charon's Oar, followed by a small ghost-like girl.

"Intervention between Wars.. This is so tiring. Don't you people have anything else better to do? Oh well.. A job is a job.."

This familiar being had no clue who the two were that were attacking, but, he probably didn't care.

Arannis' eyes widened, caught between terror, confusion, and an unnoticeable mix of several other things.

~You... of all people, are not welcome here, assuming you are the same Ryn Kuromaru I'd known for so long.~

A sniper round caught him then, and he gripped his shoulder tightly, returning the fire with a ball of light that expanded wildly on impact.

"You may know my name.. but I have no idea who the hell you are. You're causing War, just like these guys, so, both of you are my enemy."

Ryn looked back to the Ghost sitting on the Oar beside him.

"Seriously.. These people are just weird. Glowing gold, Silver Skin. Are they aliens, Okiku-hime? They're talking in my head. Should we just let them kill each other, then deal with the intervention?"
