I was taking a trip to Boston last weekend (which is a wonderful city, by the way,) and I had the great honor of watching the Boston Pops live in the Commons! the best part; the concert was FREE! they played the Overture to William Tell, Stars and Stripes Forever, I'm Shipping up to Boston, Sweet Caroline (with Kieth Lockhart wearing a Red Sox jersey,) and the theme songs from STAR WARS and HARRY POTTER! (I cried when those two songs came on!) have any of you watched TV during 4th of July (if you're American that is?) they always perform a televised concert then at the Esplinad with fireworks! blaugh

that is too cool!
I used to have a copy of Bugs (Bunny) on Broadway -- basically the audio -- music part that is - was muted and was preformed live
Still, what you got to do sounds MUCH better and easier on the budget wink
how was the rest of Boston? have any chowder?

I love Loony Toons! I especially love the chases between Wile E. Coyote and Roadrunner, and Bugs and Elmer Fudd! although I'm not sure what this has to do with the Boston Pops... o.0 they performed the concert because it was their 125th birthday (yes, they played Happy Birthday to themselves!) I enjoyed Boston a lot! I wanted to see Wicked, but we didn't buy tickets in advance. crying we mostly walked on the Freedom Trail and went to the Museum of Science (I went there once before, but only for the Harry Potter exhibit back around New Years.) which is a very cool museum! did you know that there's a scale model of the solar system spread around Boston? after the concert, we went to Finagle a Bagel. it has this cool conveyor belt thing to slice the bagels in half, and was quite entertaining to watch. the bagel goes down the conveyor belt until it reaches this spinning razor blade. when it goes through the razor blade, it shoots down the rest of the belt! biggrin another restaurant we ate at was the Barking Crab. they have these huge picnic tables outside that you can eat at, and if you decide to get crab or lobster, they have large rocks to crack open the shell. I believe we drove by Community Boating at one point. have you ever seen all the sailboats on the Charles River? that's where a portion of them come from! because my town is pretty much landlocked, I hope I can go sailing there at some point during next summer! I'll have some trouble convincing my parents though... but if you ever get the chance to see the Boston Pops live, don't pass it up! my dad said that they perform a non-televised concert on July 3, and it's far less crowded than July 4! (but no fireworks.)
