Saedah was less than happy with the news that she'd be getting a dragon soon. Well..sooner rather than later though she was half hoping for never to happen. Just ..thinking about it made her nervous and jumpy and since she had gotten her letter she had been trying to keep herself busy so that she'd not have to think about it.
Her little pink hands worked on wiping down a mat from her fathers martial arts class, vigorously cleaning it no one could ever say she was a lazy child. Perhaps a bit neurotic..like her guardian figure but still. A hard worker.
She was outside, a feat in and of itself, but she had figured she'd have more room and wouldn't risk dirtying the gym floor.
Geia looked over his shoulder as he flew along toward the D-Corp building, giving a slight smile when he saw that Vorel was in fact staying home to play with Maria as he'd requested. It wasn't that he didn't trust his brother but... well he would rather leave Vorel to keep an eye on her just in case the cobra got side tracked with the various things that he spent his time on. He turned back to the direction he was going and set to flapping his wings a little faster, determined to get to school so that he could trade out the books he had in his bag for some new ones. The magic teachers seemed find with him borrowing books so long as they were only one or two at a time instead of a stack like he would love to bring home. Their collections were far better then his as well, as the teachers seemed to do better at finding where to buy such interesting reading material. He was going to see about signing up for another class while he was here as well, perhaps all he'd been working on since the last time he'd met with Zyane would help him in becoming a better mage, one that had a better idea of where he wanted to go in life.
The owl's wings tilted slightly so that he could start to circle down toward the ground, spotting a familiar color as he headed downward and his plans for the day seemed to get pushed to the back of his mind as his lips turned up into a smile. Of all the people in the world he could have run across this was one he quite enjoyed talking with, she held a special place in the owl's heart likely due to how they had met. The only person outside of his family who held a bigger part of his heart was Chath but Saedah was someone he loved for entirely different reasons then he did the newt. What he felt for her was closer to what he felt for Maria after all while Chath was... something far different.
The little corn snake girl was far too absorbed with cleaning to really notice the shadowing coming towards her. It wasn't until she heard the flap of wings that her fork like tongue flickered out to taste the air. Rather than her immediate reaction of fear, she knew it was her most favortist person in the entire world. Placing the mat down gently she turned, proudly adjusting her bow/headband on her head which was a blue ribbon Geia had given to her when she was younger.
"Gewa!" She called out happily using her nick name for him since when she was little she hadn't been able to say his name properly, and well it kinda stuck to him now. She reached out her hands wanting to be picked up, she loved it when he held her.
The moment the owl heard his nickname he couldn't help but to smile that much more, his ear tufts giving a little wiggle as he landed on the ground near to the little snake girl. She was looking so adorable, holding her arms out to him, and he couldn't help but to scoop the girl up to give her a hug, "Hello, Saedah." He murmured, snuggling the girl to him in a happy manner. He couldn't help but to be completely taken by her, having helped to care for her when she was little as well as helping in her classes had meant a lot to the owl, "I've missed you." He told her, finding the downside to having moved being that he didn't get to see her nearly as often as he liked.
Saedah was more than thrilled to be held and hugged by the owl boy. He was her idle, he meant everything to her, and that was saying a lot. He was perhaps the first person she hadn't been terrified at which was saying a lot.
"I missed you too!" She echoed happily as she kissed his cheek, like a daughter may her father. Kuyoja would disapprove...
Leaning back her pink eyes stared at Ligeia happily just taking in his image as if she was worried he may vanish suddenly.
"How you been Gewa? I missed you, don't go away again...why don't you come back?" she asked in a rush of questions.
He gave a flutter of his wings as she gave him a kiss and he returned the gesture by giving her a little kiss on the forehead, "I have been pretty good, a bit busy with relearning my magic." He said, having started back at square one after his time with Zyane so that he could get a better grasp on things. He still hadn't been able to push himself to the absolute limits of his powers but maybe he would try it again soon. For now he was happy enough just doing the basics all over again even if it might seem silly to others his age and talent level.
"Ahh... I don't mean to be gone so long and so often, my Dad moved us to a bigger place so we aren't staying here in the apartments anymore. Its not to far from here though." He explained to the snake girl, giving her a gentle smile, "Your welcome to visit any time you want to, you need only to call me and I could come to pick you up with Vorel so you can come play at our house."
Saedah's snake end, the tip of her long body had been twitching like a wagging tail up until he mentioned Vorel and coming to visit. It was good that Geia would come get her, she doubted she'd be able to get there alone, by herself. But there was still the problem of the dragons. Baroness was terrifying and Vorel...was just ..HUGE.
Her entire body seemed to slump, like a huge weight had been put on her shoulders.
"G..gewa..." SHe hiccuped as she then threw her arms around his neck and went about sobbing against him.
"I don't w..want a d..d..dragon Ge...hic...Gewa..."
Geia gave a gasping sound when he suddenly threw her arms around him and started to sob, instantly he was hugging her closer, hand soothing over her back, and he settled down onto the ground so that he wouldn't risk tipping over and hurting them both, "Saedah? Shhh, shhh... its alright." He said, not understanding what had happened until she said that she didn't want a dragon, something that made his eyes got a little wide. Poor thing, he thought to himself, continuing to sooth her, "Its going to be alright, I promise. I am sure they are well aware of your fears and I bet they have made sure not to give you one who is scary like Baroness or Keir." He tried to reassure her, surely the people here were smarter then that?
She shook her head rather violently, causing her whole body to tremble and shake. No she didn't want one at all! Why couldn't anyone understand that?
"B..but I d..dont w..want one..." she murmured still shivering in his arms. "W..why Gewa...why do..do I have to hav..have one?" she asked in a breathless manner. The world would be so much less scary if dragons weren't around.
He blinked a couple times before giving her a gentle smile, "I... don't know, I have never really thought about why we have to have them." It had been a natural thing to him, knowing since he was little that he was going to end up with a dragon. It was an integral part of the lives of the children that this place produced but he felt that trying to explain it to her wasn't going to help, "Have you told your father about your worries?" He asked, wondering what he might have said. The guy was nice enough though he seemed a bit... stiff and maybe a little hard to approach.
The little girl shook her head, how could she? Her father was 'excited' about getting a dragon in the house. He loved the things, respected and revered them. Telling him would be like telling him she hated her father himself.
"D..addy likes dragons..." She mumbled fidgeting in Geia's arms and playing with a piece of his shirt and hair trying to distract herself from a panic attack.
Geia gave a soft sigh, that would make it hard wouldn't it? He moved his hand to stroke her hair gently, "I am sure that he likes you more though." He told her, sure that Kuyoja must love his own child more then he did the dragon he was going to get... or at least he sure hoped so. If not Geia might have to freeze the man's feet to the floor, "If you are unable to talk with him you can talk to me instead." Perhaps talking would help? It was supposed to help when one worried about things... not that he often told people his worries since he didn't like burdening them with his problems.
Saedah silently nodded her head, she had been so happy to see Geia and now he wanted to talk to her about dragons? She wasn't so keen on the idea...but afraid she may offend him she only nodded again and then hugged him tightly.
"...t..there big...a..and scary...a..and have lots of teeth...and...scary...and could ea...eat...me.." she stated starting to list off the things that made her frightened of the beasts. She rambled and repeated a bunch of the same things. Being scary the most prominent part..as well the fear of being eaten.
He gave a thoughtful sound and he nodded his head, "I agree actually, they can be just that." He said, instantly thinking Aullol and the damage she'd done despite not wanting to. It seemed to be the thing that always caused him the most nightmares... and he could only imagine the bad dreams poor Chath must have. He shook his head, "Its not as though your fears are without merit or that you should worry that your the only one who thinks such things. Truth be told I am more then a little terrified of Black Dragons myself, it makes things a little difficult given that my..." He paused for a moment and wondered what he should called refer to Chath as in front of a little kid, "Friend Chath has one as his partner."
Saedah looked to him with wide eyes, Geia was scared of dragons too? Okay so ..black dragons but still..that was more of a surprise than she would of thought.
"R..really? Y..your s..scared o...f them Gewa?" She asked with a swallow as she was nervous again. If Geia was scared..they must be very terrible dragons indeed. "B..but..h..how do you s..see you..r..f..friend then?:
He nodded his head, "Of course, everyone has something that they are afraid of." At least he was sure that they did, he doubted highly that Ter would admit to such a thing though... then again given how stubborn and egotistical the cobra could be... he pushed the thought aside, "It can be a bit of an ordeal at times when I actually cross paths with Keir, that's the dragon's name, he likes me about as much as he would like a ribbon around his neck which is not at all." It wasn't as if they hadn't already had one argument given the Black Dragon didn't want to share Chath...
"Mainly I do my best to be brave in his presence." He said, giving a her a smile. It was likely the fact that he had an endless supply of patience along with his feelings for Chath that aided in dealing with the Black Dragon.
Saedah looked to the owl boy with wide wide pink eyes. Everyone had something they were scared of? That wasn't as encouraging as one would think. In fact she felt more brave when she thought Geia wasn't afraid of anything.
"He..s..sounds s...scary.." she whimpered clutching at Geia tighter. "W..will I g..get on.one of those sc..scary ones?"
Geia gave her a smile, stroking her hair in a soothing manner, "Its alright, I don't think that they would give you something like that." He said in a reassuring manner, he thought so anyway and really, really hoped that he was right about that... he gave his little friend a smile, "I am sure that it will be alright. If you like we could always visit your dragon's egg together sometime. Only if your ready though, I wouldn't want to force you to do something that is scary for you."
She chewed on a length of her hair, debating on her answer to his question. "I..s..saw it o..once...Papa a..asked a..about it. I..j..just know it will be sm..small." She replied quietly finally, fidgeting in Geia's arms and allowing her tail to wrap around his arm for comfort,
"That's good to hear, that it will be small that is." He said, giving her a smile. If it were small then maybe that would help her in dealing with it easier, before it was able to grow to being larger. Best they make friends while they were both still small. He couldn't help but wonder and worry what might happen if they weren't able ot get along, what the dragon might do if its partner was afraid of it. He pushed the worry aside though, "Was there anything about the egg that you liked?"
Saedah wished they could talk about anything else, talking about the egg made her uncomfortable. Shifting in his grasp again she tightened her hold on him.
She had to think long and hard about it. What she could remember about it besides the feeling of being terrified.
"I..it glowed.." SHe whispered, she didn't like the fact that it was black..but it did glow a pretty green color.
Geia's eyes widened a little, "It glowed? Wow, that sounds like fun." He said, finding himself wanting to go and see that egg himself. He'd never seen a glowing egg before, he might have to see if one of the techs would allow him into the dragon egg area to take a peek. So long as there was an escort they were allowed in after all, he might have to do that later.
Geia looked around the area for a moment then chuckled, "So, what are you doing out here with those?" He asked, noticing that she had been up to something odd when he'd arrived. He'd been rather distracted with hugs and talk about other things though so he'd been unable to ask about it.
Saedah's body instantly relaxed when the subject was changed, looking over her shoulders she peered down at the mats and then looking to him beamed.
"I was cleaning!" She chirped sounding relieved to be talking about something else.
"Papa likes his gym neat and tidy, so I was helping!" She giggled softly. She pointed to the rags and the spray bottle, "I spray them with water and then wipe them with the cloth." The little girl sound so very proud about all this.
He gave a chuckle, "If only my father was so tidy." He said, giving a shake of his head, "You should see his office, its like a tornado went through he told her, giving a bit of a smile as he thought about the state of his father's new office. He did had a system, or so he said, but what that might be the owl had no idea, "That sounds like a tough job you have, but if you enjoy it then I applaud you."
Saedah smiled up at him and hugged Geia happily, "Yes, I like to make Papa proud." the little girl explained, "I clean and helping his gym. I t..think it's to help me not be so ski..skittish." She explained sheepishly. Her pink eye's turned to him when he mentioned his own fathers tornado of an office, the expression was mildly horrified.
"D..does he not know how to cl..clean?" she asked surprised.
Geia laughed, "That's a good question... I... don't think that he does know how to clean." He said with a bit of a smile, he wouldn't be at all shocked if his father had no idea how to clean, "Its something that he needs to learn." He was doing his best to keep up the housework himself but he could only do so much between that, school, training, and meeting with friends and Chath. Cleaning was normally the last thing on the list of things he did each day.
Saedah took a sharp intake of breath, "Papa would not like that..no..not at all! We should go help your daddy clean up his office!" She insisted as she tried to get down as if she couldn't wait to move into the D-corp building seek out Orpheus's office and set to work.
"It would be nice surprise for your Papa don't you think??"
"That or he would have a heart attack because he can't find anything." He said with a bit of a smile, "We will need to label everything clearly so that he will be able to find everything he needs." He found himself half wondering how long the place would stay clean before Orpheus messed it up and have things back into random piles again... he wouldn't give it that long at all.
Saedah was up for the challenge, as she was a firm believer that a clean home was a happy home. After she was placed on the ground, though after a moments thought wished she had stayed in his arms she went about gathering the mats she could carry and placed them gently and neatly back into the gym. It all took about five minutes before she breathing a bit hard was now before Geia and looking at him expectantly.
"Sh..shall we go then?" She asked a tad breathlessly.
He nodded his head, "Sure, just... brace yourself." He warned before they were heading up to where the offices were located. He looked up at the numbers as they counted along and then at the sound of the ding the door opened up. He lead the way to where his father's office was, rarely if ever locked, and swung the door open.
Inside it looked as though a storm had come through. There were piles of papers, files, books on every flat surface including the floor. The bookshelves were half empty, the file cabinet was hanging open, the desk chair was rolled half way across the room, and his desk had various gems scattered across it as though he'd been in the middle of working on a piece when he was called away to do some task or another. There was various cups filled to random levels with coffee, empty food containers, and half eaten snacks all over the place. Needless to say it was not what poor Saedah would be accustomed to...
