One of the Vampire Forts along their Elven Boarder.
The tall slim man stood looking out towards the forest in the distance. He really didn't want to fight this war, he rather agreed with the Elves. The humans shouldn't be treated as slaves but at least equal to the demons. With a sigh, Vyers turned and went back into his room. Sitting on his desk was a stack of papers, scouting reports, injury reports, matinance reports, supply reports.... reports reports reports... swiftly he walked over to the door and stuck his head out looking to the guard standing there. "Have them bring my dinner up again please," he asked and the soilder snapped to attention and slauted. He returned to his desk and sat down, looking at the mound of paper. He hoped his cousin Noah was fairing better than he was.

"It would be better if you ate more often..." A still voice would call out to Vyers before the chill of Noah's presence took the room. "I'd hate to see you fall into a downward spiral like my father in health as well." He wouldn't be sure how to fell if Vyers was down too. Watching his father slowly dieing in front of him brought forth unimaginable grief. What was most sickening the women who by law is his 'Mother' was calling the shots. The wrong ones.

Vyers perked up at the sound of his cousin's voice. "Ah... back from patrol so soon? Good! You can help me get through all this!!" he said motioning towards the piles of papers. "Anyway...." he said getting up and walking around the desk. "How did the patrol go? All's quiet I take?" He walked over to the small sitting area of the room and dropped down on one of the more comfortable chairs, his long legs dangling over one arm as he had his back against the other. "Come, sit, my dinner should be up soon and you know there will be more than enough for the two of us..."

"I've not had much of an appetite today..." As the prince would gaze outside with too many thoughts to count in his head. He takes a few deep breaths in and takes a seat himself. "I hate to leave my father with that women the way he is."

"And you worry about my eating habits...." he muttered giving his cousin a look. "Well, look on the bright side, as long as you live so does he...." it was clear to them that Sanja couldn't take the throne simply by the death of the king. Noah is the rightful heir to the throne... by ancient laws if something were to happen to the King and there was no heir to inherit the throne, rule would pass to the Queen. "I know it's not much consolation but it is better than nothing. It gives us time in hopes that sh...." he paused as there was a knock at the door. "Enter!"
A young servant opened the door, "Your dinner sir," he said as two other servents entered, one with a large covered tray and the other carrying a tray with drinks. "Your Highness," the young vampire said suprised once he spotted Noah. "Forgive me, I did not know you had returned! Would you like us to bring dinner for yourself as well?"
"No need Kou, I've already offered to split mine with him. That will be all for now.... Oh! If you could have the baths ready for later that would be wonderful!" Vyers lifted the lid off the food tray and took a look at what they had. There was a varaity of cooked meats, fruits, vegetables, bread and cheese.
"Yes sir!" Kou bowed respectfully to the Prince and Duke in turn as he closed the door behind him.
"Wonderful guy.... still not sure who's side he's on...." Vyers mused softly as he got comfortable on his seat again. In this day and age, one had to be careful of what they said. One bad word about the Queen Sanja would get you a life time in jail.

"Yes. You're right about that..." As the prince would keep a plastered smile to the servant the time he was there as if nothing was going in in the room. "I hate to distrust my own people too. There's so many at sake here. Not just about us anymore." As the young man would walk to grab a leg of a cooked beast and took a bite out of it.
