Either here or The Subforum that Isn't Related to the Guild's name (On that topic -- name suggestion! The Known Paralyzed? Eh? Eh? Don't know if it'd catch on.). Oh god, if i put this in the wrong place, it'll be so embarrassing!
Anyway, on to what this topic is about. Cough.
Have you guys rewritten any stories outside of editing? I have; We Have to Disappear was a rewrite of a story of mine called Watch Me Disappear that I wrote in 2008. Only, with a completely different plot, less angst, no characters from a canon source, and a newer version of Xauc. Oh, and completely different premise. Would that even be a rewrite?
I'm also planning to rewrite that one story I have posted here – Agony. it was so rushed and sloppy, I hate it. I think I might callob with Bubbly Joy for it when I rewrite it.
So.
Have any of you rewritten stories? If so, which one(s) and for what reason(s)?

Yes, this is in the right forum! smile
I'm going to rewrite a story I'm still half-way through writing for the first time called Anthem of the Angels. It's really a first experimentation thing, and I have plenty more things for the rewrite.
I found that my original plot was weak and too little was made sense. It would have been rather short and confused my readers beyond belief. So I'm changing the plot around.
A tip for rewriting/editing a story: Check out the Anti-Guide in the writer's forum. I found lots of stuff in there I hadn't thought of before.

Everything I write that isn't a poem is re-written often. I have lots and lots of re-writes because I just never find anything I write to be god enough to leave as is. There's always something that I am just itching to change.

I usually rewrite most of my stories because when I go back and read them, I find that I'm not happy with the way I wrote it.
I'm in the middle of rewriting a play I wrote about three years ago called A Cause Worth Fighting For. I need to add more detail to history of the world it was set in so readers could understand the plot. Also, two characters need to be completely changed and the ending was confusing and abrupt. sweatdrop

On the note of writing a play, I'm not much for a drama like that. However, I am developing a musical as a side project. I have snippets of a song already written out for it and a good idea of what the characters will be like. It's not a main focus, but I know that I'll be rewriting this musical over and over until I'm finally satisfied!
