Snowpoint City is a snow-covered city located at the far north of Sinnoh, where snow blows down from the top of Mt. Coronet causing low temperatures. Snowpoint City and the three routes that lead to it (Route 216, Route 217 and Acuity Lakefront) are also completely covered in snow. To the northeast of Route 217, Lake Acuity can be found. A cave, which houses Uxie, is located in the middle of Lake Acuity. Given the snow which affects every battle on the two routes leading to the city, as well as the fact that to get to Route 216 from the rest of Sinnoh one must pass through Mt. Coronet, the most convenient way to get to the city is to Fly. There is a port here in which the player can access the Fight Area, part of the Battle Frontier.
The Snowpoint Gym is the official gym of Snowpoint City. It is based on Ice-type Pokémon. The Gym Leader is Candice. Trainers who defeat her receive the Icicle Badge. The Snowpoint City Gym is a Gym consisting of a three-floor ice rink with slides connecting the various floors and snowballs blocking progress through the Gym. To reach the Gym Leader, trainers have to slide around the Gym and destroy the balls of snow blocking the way. For defeating Candice, trainers receive the Icicle Badge.

It was snowing as they landed in Snowpoint. Of course, it was always snowing. But at least it was a still snow. As he got off of his Pidgeot and put it back in it's ball, he reached in his bag and pulled out a jacket. He handed it to Linda.
"I'm used to the cold. I grew up in this place, so this kind of cold doesn't get to me. When it gets windy here is another story."

The scenery over this land was beautiful, especially as they went farther north. Belinda had never seen so much white. When Icarus landed, Belinda jumped off and her knees bent a little. Long flights always made her legs feel weak. She could already feel snow creeping into her socks. Wearing a short skirt didn't seem like the best idea right now.
"I'm a bit of a wuss when it comes to cold. Luckily I have plenty of money to buy better clothes, where could I get a coat in this place?"

Roland held up his Pokeball. "Come on back, Jet Speed. I'll bring you back out when we get to the house." Roland headed towards the Pokemon Center. "They sell some clothes here for people who don't know how cold it is. You should get something."
As he walked to the door, a young boy no older than 12 ran out and bumped into him, knocking Roland over. The boy got back up very quickly and started apologizing. Roland look at the kid that ran into him and came to a sudden realization.
"Lucian, is that you?"
The boy look at Roland. "Ah! Older brother, you're back!"
"Only for a little while. I'm here to see my parents. Plus, I have to find a place for my friend here to hide. She was a member of Team Rocket and made them very mad because she didn't want to do what they said."
The young boy laughed a little. "Team Rocket's nothing compared to Team Galactic. Those guy scare me."
"Wait... Where are our manners. Introduce yourself to the young lady."
"Oh! Sorry Roland." The boy turned to Belinda and bowed. "My name is Lucian. I'm new Pokemon trainer. Pleased to meet you."
"Alright, now. Remember what I always told you about Pokemon. If you're kind to them and trust them, they will trust you."
"Alright, older brother. Bye now." With that the young boy ran off.

Belinda chuckled a bit. It wasn't only that she didn't want to do what they said... clearly Roland didn't know the half of it. Oh well, she might as well keep it that way. No use in telling all of her secrets to a man that she had just met that day... She laughed a bit louder when the smaller buy said that Team Rocket was nothing. "If you lived in Kanto or Johto you would have a very different view about Team Rocket, that's for sure." She smiled at Lucian. "Listen to me, Lucian. Don't make the same mistakes that I did, and do bad things just because your friend was doing them also, alright?" She would have to see someone go down the same path that she had. After the boy ran off, Belinda turned to Rolan. "My teeth are chattering, I might as well go buy the clothes now." She went inside. After a few minutes, she was all decked out in snow gear. She liked her boots the best, she could get used to wearing that kind of footwear. "You know, if I would have had an older brother or sister to tell me those things, maybe I wouldn't be in the situation that I am in now. Children are very willful at that age, and I was no exception. Even though I didn't exactly respect and trust other people's Pokemon, I did to my own. So don't think that I'm a bad person, ok?"

Roland chuckles a little. "He isn't my brother. I'm an only child. The younger kids just call me 'older brother' because it was how we were raised. We all looked out for each other. And I don't think you're a bad person. Just someone with an interesting story. Life really isn't worth living without an interesting story behind it."
He heads toward s the door, "We should get going. My parents house is pretty close to here. They'd think you were interesting, too."

Belinda sighed, then smiled. "Well, at least they have you then. You seem.... decent enough." She was glad that he couldn't see her blushing with her face all covered. "Well, the people that I took pokemon from seemed to think that I was a bad person."
There was no avoiding that fact, so she might as well get it out in the open right now. As much as she wished that she could give them all back... it was quite impossible. She stopped. Even though Roland seemed like a perfectly decent man.... years of distrusting others made her a little anxious. "How do I know that you're not just going to arrest me or something? I mean... I hardly know you......"
She realized how cruel her assumptions must sound. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean that. It's just... never mind. Just forget that I ever said that."

"Fair question. Who knows if I didn't set up some sort of sting operation here to catch you for being a former member of Team Rocket? Or if I'm a member of the team you never met trying to get you? Or a member of Team Galactic trying to recruit you?" Roland stopped walking. "There are a thousand things that I could be, but there is only one that I am. It's really your choice weather you want to believe me or not. You could run right now if you wanted to. I would never know where you went."
He turned and looked at her. "The fact is that you have found someone who has found out a little bit about your past on his own, and you chose to trust him this far. Now that you are in Sinnoh, far from Team Rocket's reach, do you continue to trust this man, or do you go? That's the real qusetion."
Roland turns back around. "I'll let you mull that over for a bit." He continues to walk to his parents house.

Belinda closed her eyes, sighed, and made her decision. Over the years she had convinced herself that safety did not exist.... maybe now was the time to give it a chance. She followed him.
"I still don't completely trust you, but you at least deserve the benifit of the doubt. It's just that... I'm not used to people trusting me. You're catching me off my guard a bit."
Belinda was longing for another companion now, so she released Hercules the Arcanine from his pokeball and continues walking, with her hand on his forry back. He didn't seem to mind the snow, he was kept warm by his fur coat. "It really is pretty around here, growing up in the city I didn't ever see things like this."

Roland looked around, "Yeah, this place is pretty nice most of the year. There is the occasional blizzard, but other than that it's nice. There was still plenty to do here as a kid, like snowball fights and..." Just then, Roland was cut short by a snowball hitting him in the face, knocking him to the ground. "ow..." Roland groaned A fairly large man was sitting in the doorway of one of the houses, a Vulpix standing next to him. He spoke with a very gruff voice, "You don't give us so much as a letter for a couple of years and then you show up without a call. Your mother was worried about you." Roland got up slowly, dropping a Pokeball and releasing his Infernape in the process. "Dad, do we have to go through this every time I visit. Most of the places I go have no cell phone reception, and seeing some of these Pokemon takes weeks of camping out." The man looked at Belinda. With the same gruff voice, "Who is that with you? Bringing people with you without notice, too." The man walks over to Belinda. He looks at her for a second with an angry scowl on his face, then he smiles. He speaks, this time with a very kind voice. "Hello, miss. Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Fredric Jamison," He bows, "I'm Roland's father."

Belinda couldn't help but laugh a bit when Roland got hit in the face, although she felt bad about it after she did. "Are you ok?" When she saw that he was she giggled a bit more. But when the other man appeared, she just stood there awkwardly. Belinda thought that she would get much of the same reaction if she ever showed up back at her parent's house, minus the snowball of course. Actually... hers would probably be worse. It had been almost ten years sense she had visited.
She was a bit nervous. The man seemed angry. Hercules' fur started to stand up slightly, but Belinda took a handfull of it so that he wouldn't growl. She was about to flinch away when he smiled and introduced himself. Well, that was a surprise. Belinda smiled too, but mostly from relief that he didn't scream in her face or something.
"Oh, nice to meet you Mr. Jamison. My name is Belinda but most people call me Linda. I just met... your son today."
She looked over at Roland and smiled, wondering what he would think of all of this.

Roland dusts the snow off of himself. "So dad, was it the nurse or Lucian that told you guys I was here?"
Fredric looks at Roland and smiles. "It was Lucian. He was so happy to see you here he decided to tell us. He said you had a friend with you, so I thought this would be an interesting way to greet you." He looked back to Belinda "You said that just met him today. And he decided to bring you here with him." He looks back at Roland. "What do you know about her that makes you bring her here from... Where are you coming from?"
Roland gets a nervous look on his face. "I was in Kanto. And... um... it's a little funny..."
"Spit it out already." Fredric said, sounding gruff again.
"She was a member of Team Rocket who deserted the group and took money and other stuff with her. I brought her here to get away from the team's reach."
Fredric got silent. It was nearly a minute before he spoke. "Remember what happened last time you got involved with Team Rocket?"
"Yes, but this is different. She isn't a member any more. She doesn't steal Pokemon. Besides, I was 16 then. That was 12 years ago. I've changed."
There was a long silence, which was broken by a woman's voice. "Perhaps we should take this conversation inside. It's quite cold out here."
Fredric calmed down. "Of course. I didn't even realize how cold it was. Belinda must be freezing." He smiled at her. "Would you like to join us?"

Belinda was curious, what had happened with Roland and Team Rocket before? From what she could tell from his father, it hadn't ended well. She didn't want to ask, however, it seemed like sort of a touchy subject. She figured that if they wanted her to find out, then she would.
As soon as the voice from inside mentioned the cold, she realized that her tows where freezing. She hadn't had the chance to build up any body heat before she had stepped outside again. She didn't quite like it, but it seemed like something that she would get used to if she stayed here...
"Oh, yes, sure. You wouldn't mind if Hercules stayed out of his pokeball, would you?" It was the polite thing to ask when going into someone else's house with a pokemon. Especially a fairly large one like Arcanine.
Belinda smiled at Roland, but he might not have been able to see with her face wrapped up against the cold. She started to walk inside.

Fredric looked at the Arcanine. "Sure, you can leave him out of his ball. As they entered the room, they see a small table in the middle. Tea and warm Sake have already been set out, ready to be served. On the floor are a few dishes of Pokemon food. The Vulpix from earlier is already eating from one, as is Roland's Infernape. Fredric sits down at his usual spot and pours himself a cup of sake. Roland follows suit. Standing near the door is a woman. She bows at Belinda when she enters. "Hello. I'm Sandra. Nice to meet you. We have tea prepared if you would like some." With that, she sits down at the table and pours a cup of tea. Fredric looks at Roland. "It's been a while since you were here. Hows about you make a toast." "Alright," Roland clears his throat and holds up his cup. "To healthy family, happy pokemon, new friends, and new beginnings!"

Belinda sighed, at least she got to have someone familiar by har side in this strange place. These people where... much nicer to her than she had expected. Most people couldn't see past the big red R. At least they where giving her a chance to prove that she wasn't a despicible person like she used to be.
It was warm inside, Belinda unwrapped her face, remover her hood and gloves and unbuttoned her coat slightly. She noticed Hercules nudging his way between the other two fire tyupes to get at some food. He did so in a friendly way, but still Belinda was horrified. He usually acted better than that... but then again he seemed to be getting along with the other pokemon.
"Yeah... sorry about him. He's a bit impulsive at times, been that way ever sense he was a little Growlithe."
She sat down at the table. The tea was warming her fingers, it felt nice. She added to the toast. "And second chances." And smiled at the rest of them.
