The dorm rooms are complete with three beds; one bunk bed and one separate bed, with an open kitchen, which has one refrigerator, one electric stove, with an oven attached, one stainless steel sink, counter space, a microwave, a toaster and cabinets. There is also an eating area, with room for electronic entertainment, and it is furnished with a low eating table with four cushions. There is also a bathroom with a toilet, sink, a shower.

A student rushed into the dorm room, looking around. No one yet...good. He had a roommate, but that didn't mean it was a good thing. To room with Setsuna, or even with Konoka, was a comforting idea, but it wasn't going to happen. His roommate was someone who didn't know him at all, which meant he'd have to try harder to try and keep his secrets, secret. He pulled out his uniform, changing into teh boys' uniform and going into teh bathroom and shutting the door. He pulled out a thick white binding out of his smaller bag and laid his unfirom jacket and shirt on the covered toilet seat.

He put a pin between his teeth, and wrapped the bandage around his chest, tightly binding it before pinning it securely. He sighed as he put on his shirt and buttoned it, along with his tie and jacket. "Man...this is going to be hard to keep up..." He muttered, fixing his hair and brushing his teeth while setting up some of his own hygiene items in the bathroom. Not including the few things he had to keep hidden in his bag so his roommate didn't find them. He walked back out of the bathroom and got his books together.

Axel fixed his tie, and took a breath. "God I hope Konoka was right about this idea..." He was nervous about this school. He was risking getting found out, and he liked his identity to be kept under wraps. He checked his calendar. The New Moon was coming soon. He gulped. That wouldn't be a good day. He grabbed his bag adn left the room.

"Too...tired." Gilly grumbled, as she walked into her room. Looking around, there wasn't anyone there, but it looked like someone had been there recently. 'A roommate? I wonder if it's a boy...? I wonder if that'd drive Ian nuts! Heh...that'd be fun.' Gilly thought, remembering her boyfriend, Ian Merrigan. She had hoped he was in the same class as her, but there were so many students at Mahora. This would be their second year at Mahora. Last year had so many events, and still, so many unsolved mysteries.

'I wonder if staying at Mahora was a bad idea. Maybe I should've taken up Dad's offer.' Gilly thought. Immediately after thinking that, she shook her head vehemently. "No! I stayed here for Ian, and because Dad would've made me someone I'm not. I made the right choice. This..." Gilly said out loud, seeing her yellow demonic eyes and wings in her mind. "...Is who I am. And I should be proud of it. Why am I talking to myself! Ugh! I need to get to class, so I can surprise Ian~ Make him blush more this year!" Gilly laughed, setting down her suitcases, and packing books in her bag, before changing into her Mahora Academy uniform, a maroon blazer, plaid skirt, knee-high black socks, formal shoes, white shirt, and complete with a red tie and maroon vest.

Once finished, Gilly let out a whoosh of breath. Time to start school once more.

{Gilly left to Academy Grounds.}

Axel came by the dorm before Gilly and Masato, and he opened teh door for the two. He kind of wondered if having a fox around teh room was going to ptentially be a problem. He was pretty sure he didn't have anything lying around where anything could find it that easily...

{Gilly enters the dorms.}

Walking in, with a thank you bow to Axel, Gilly walked into the room for a second time that day. Collapsing on her bed, Gilly breathed sigh of relaxation. Nothing like a good bed at the end of the day. Looking around the room, there wasn't any sign of another roommate, but since these rooms held 3 people, Axel and Gilly never knew. Technically, they did have another roommate, Masato.

"Well, we'd probably best eat soon. I'll get cooking. You two wanna help me, Wolfram-kun, Masa-kun?" Gilly asked, bouncing off from the bed, as if that one minute break rejuvenated her. Walking to the fridge, Gilly opened it, the whoosh of fresh, cool air meeting her child-like face, blowing back her lavender hair. The fridge was already stocked with basic ingredients, enough to make a simple Japanese meal. Nothing too complicated, that would require a trip to store, one that Gilly would probably make tomorrow evening.

"Hmm..." She murmured, opening the cabinet doors with a quick motion, and letting them close gently, after she peered in them, on her toes, checking for more ingredients. "Oooh, rice. Perfect, some veggies. Some meat's in the freezer...some seaweed too. Oh, broth! Perfect. Miso and dashi, that's good..." Gilly muttered, completely immersed in making something good with the available ingredients. Her thinking was deep, in the way she spoke to herself, wrung her hands, and nodded her head, as if dreaming up ways to transform those simple ingredients into a feast.

Suddenly, she snapped her head up, looking at Axel and Masato. "So, what do you guys want? We have enough for some domburi* and some miso soup*, and I'm sure I can make some sort of western-style food too. I have some ingredients from the bentos left over too." Gilly grinned at Masato. "I'm assuming they tasted alright, since Masa-kun sure finished all of it."

[*Note: Domburi = cooked rice with some toppings on top, like tempura, pickled veggies, strips of meat, egg.

Miso soup = miso paste with (often) seafeed, and small strips of tofu.]

Axel smiled and nodded. "I'll help if you want. I'f you're going to cook for your roommates they might as well help out." He grinned. He stood up and walked into the kitchen, seeing she already had her ingredients out. She really got into this, didn't she? "I helped Eishun-sama'shelp sometimes when they cooked...I don't know a whole lot, like I said, but I make a pretty good assistant." He chuckled. He had an IQ through the roof yet was only mediocre at cooking skills. "I don't know what you wanna cook though. Maybe Masato-san has an idea of what he wants?" He said, feeling odd looking at a fox for a dinner suggestion.

"Alright" was a gross understatement in Masato's opinion. Gilly's food was delicious and he was almost afraid to offer to help her make it for fear of ruining it. "Donburi sounds good, but I should probably leave that to you. However, I can make the miso." Masato didn't have hands, but that didn't preclude him from helping as he deftly jumped on the counter and flipped a knife out of the holder near the sink into his mouth before clamping his teeth around the handle and trotting towards the tofu at the far end of the counter.

Masato took special care to make sure his fur didn't touch it as he adjusted the blade in his mouth and cut the tofu into fine pieces. It was an awkward process to an untrained observer, but his movements were smooth and precise and Masato actually became quite adept at using blades even in fox form. It almost felt natural to him. However, his current level of skill was nothing compared to what he had when he was human.

Oh, how he wished he could be human again...even for just a day....he cooked Ayame so many good dishes when he was and wished he could give Gilly and Axel along with Ian and Benkei a taste of his own cooking in return for their kindness. He honestly missed Ayame, who he loved dearly, but knew an encounter with her in the future would likely be fatal. He was a Koga fugitive and she would be bound by loyalty to the clan to kill him if she found him. But Masato banished that thought from his mind as he made the last cut, dropped the knife next to the tofu, and jumped off the counter. He had to fetch the other ingredients for the miso and peered into the open cabinets, his head moving slightly and his eyes scanning quickly for what he needed.

Axel grinned. The fox sure knew what he was doing. he looked at Gilly. "I'll take care of the domburi. I can at least handle that. You go ahead and surprise with something more western." He chuckled. Not like he'd never had it before, but he was wodnering what Gilly wanted to make. He went ahead and started on cooking the rice and searched fr some good choices for the topping. Gyu-don was fine, with beef the most common choice, and they had some, so he'd decide to slive that up thinly and make it for the topping.

Standing there in awe, Gilly just watched at Masato neatly cut the tofu. If he was better than most students at merely just cutting the tofu, how good was he with a blade when he was human?

As Axel and Masato got to work, Gilly shook her head, snapping herself out just being an observer in this show. Taking off her blazer and vestment, Gilly threw those on her bed, and took off her tie, and that joined the other clothing articles. Loosening a few buttons near the top of her shirt, and rolling her sleeves, Gilly washed her hands, and began her work.

Looking in the fridge for western ingredients, which were harder to find, Gilly pulled out a few things: cheddar cheese, a jug of milk, and some butter. There was a few slices of cheese left from making various sandwiches, but there was a lot of milk left, and a whole stick of butter.

Grabbing a package of macaroni from the cabinet, Gilly reached in the freezer for one last ingredient: bacon. Everything was better with bacon. Pulling a pot from the cabinets, Gilly filled it up with water, and dumped the whole package of macaroni in the pot, and left it to cook, al dente.

Once finished with that, Gilly melted the butter in the microwave, and poured it into a bowl with the cheese and milk, mixing all the ingredients together. Once finished, Gilly stuck it in the microwave to stay warm.

Gilly then took the bacon, pulled out about 5 strips, and sliced a bit of butter into a frying pan, and then laid the strips into the pan, 2 at a time. With a chopstick, she watched over the bacon, as the fat sizzled, and it cooked, Gilly methodically flipping them over with the chopsticks, so they were evenly fried. Her grandfather had taught her this recipe, after living for so many years in New York City, Mac and Cheese was one of Gilly's favorite dishes to eat a child, when she first arrived in New York. It still remained to be one of her favorite dishes, and she was eager to replicate her grandpa's recipe. He had never told her the recipe though, as he wanted Gilly to figure it out. She'd come close, but there was still something her grandpa had put in there, that she never knew about.

'Making this mac and cheese brings make memories....' Gilly thought, while she watched over her bacon. Her grandfather had taught her American-style dishes, while her mother had done Irish-style dishes, which she'd learned from her father. Gilly's father had hardly cooked, and he was hardly around, but he knew some Japanese dishes, which he'd taught to his now deceased wife. 'I never did have much in common with dad. He couldn't even cook. He'd rely on instant noodles. He'd much rather have instant noodles than have our cooking.' Gilly thought, with a twinge of bitterness in her thoughts. Of course, Gilly was referring to her mother and herself as our. They often worked in a team to create wonderful dishes, that the two enjoyed. However, Gilly's father was a late-night worker, and the pair hardly ever communicated, as she was usually asleep when he arrived.

Masato's eyes scanned the cabinet's interior before he finally found what he was looking for, stuck his head in, and pulled it out. Bonito-flavored soup stock...and the good kind at that. Whoever stocked the cabinet knew how to pick out ingredients and he suspected Gilly did it. Masato secured the box in his jaws, jumped back onto the counter, set it down, and proceeded to fill a small pot with water after taking off a hook on the wall, carefully avoiding Gilly and Axel as to not mess up their work. He then lifted his head a bit higher and clamped his jaws on the harder to compensate for the added weight before setting it down on an empty stove grill, leaping back to the floor, and standing up on his hind legs while moving the stove switch with his paws.

'Just right...' Masato thought as he adjusted the flame and proceeded back to the other end of the counter where he had the box of soup stock. Masato jumped back up to the counter top and opened the box with his teeth before carefully picking the bag containing the powder out, moving back towards the edge of the stovetop, tearing the bag open with his teeth and one paw, and then pouring the soup stock powder into the now-simmering water. The scent of the powder mixing with water wafted into his nostrils and Masato shook his head once from the strong yet hearty scent. If humans thought something smelled good, then for foxes, it was even better since they had a far superior sense of smell. It had been both a boon and a curse since he became a fox, allowing him to sniff out food almost anywhere, but at the same time making him hungry when he didn't want to be. But enough with the sniffing...

Masato quickly jumped off the counter and came back with the tofu and some squares of dried and salted seaweed covered with an odd sprinkle of spices in a porcelain bowl in his mouth. He walked carefully towards his pot and dumped the contents in, making sure he didn't burn his fur by coming too close before taking a long plastic spoon off another one of the hooks (two sets of hooks near the stove...one with cooking utensils and another for small pots and pans). He began stirring the mix until it started to boil, after which he jumped back down and cut the flame. He then climbed back onto the counter, pulled the plastic spoon out, leveled it, and set it down very carefully as to not spill its contents on the counter. Masato tasted the mix he made and was pleased with the results. It was good...it was actually good. The first dish he successfully made in fox form! HOORAH!! He just hoped Gilly and Axel thought the same.

"Gilly-sama, Axel-sama, give this a try...although you might not want to use the same spoon I did," Masato said after getting off the counter and sitting on the floor while looking up at the pot full of miso. He wasn't a cook of the same caliber as Gilly, but would have gladly pitted his skills against hers in a friendly cooking contest when he was human. Perhaps he'd have learned a thing or two and been able to surprise Ayame later on with something new. Masato then tilted his head slightly to see if they'd try what he just made for his new friends and "owners."
PostPosted: Sat Oct 09, 2010 10:50 am

"Masa-kun, you don't have to call me, 'Gilly-sama'." Gilly said, lowering the heat on the bacon, while she went over to where Masato had his culinary creation. "Gilly would just do!"

Taking another spoon, Gilly plunged the spoon in, and took out a bit of miso soup, and held it to her lips, blowing on it gently. Although Masato, Axel, and herself had only known each other for not even a day, Gilly trusted them. Masato could have poisoned the broth while the other two were busy, but Gilly didn't think Masato would do that. He seemed like a gentle soul, tortured by the wretched state he was put in, because he had honor, pride.

Letting the small amount of miso soup slip between her lips and into her mouth, Gilly closed her eyes, letting the hand with the spoon drop a little, as she smiled, tasting all the beautiful flavors Masato had put in, gently breaking apart the tofu with her teeth. The soup wasn't overcooked, not too hot, but warm enough so that it excited her taste buds, and soothed her throat. Perfect comfort food.

Setting the spoon down on the counter top, Gilly wrapped her arms around Masato for the second time that day, and planted a kiss right between Masato's mercury eyes, the slight bit of miso soup left on her lips, stayed on Masato's fur. "Masa-kun, you're beautiful! How did you learn to cook so well as a fox?" Gilly asked, letting go of Masato, and holding by the head at arms length, admiration gleaming in her eyes.

Turning to Axel, Gilly had a serious look on her face. Pure culinary art must be taken seriously! "You've got to try it, Wolfram-kun! It's a pure burst of flavor, controlled cooking, yet it has heart and soul, but a hint of laidback action." She nodded, that serious look in her eyes.

Axel chuckled. "Same here. I usually never have people call me by such a formal honorific." With the encouragement from Gilly, Axel nodded and took a small spoon, putting a bit on it and sipping some of it carefully. He grinned and seemed surprised. "Wow! That really is something else, Masato-san." It really was good for being made by a fox, which was more impressive. "That's some skill, to be able to still cook really well in that form." He commented as he walked over to teh pan he had simmering the strips of beef. "Heck, Masato-san's a better cook than me." He said laughing a bit as he topped the donpuri with the beef.
PostPosted: Sat Oct 09, 2010 11:06 pm

Masato grinned happily and swished his tail as Gilly picked him up and planted a kiss between his eyes. He was glad to see that Gilly and Axel loved his cooking and he was almost giddy waiting to see how Gilly and Axel's dishes would turn out. "My grandfather and the village cook taught me while I was growing up. My parents were gone most of the time, so I spent a lot of time with those two in their absence. I still can't hold a candle to my grandpa or the cook in terms of culinary skills, though. The two of you would probably get along with them really well."

He wondered how the old man was....in his 80's by now, but likely still going strong. Same with the cook. Those two had been best friends since they retired from active service. Too bad he couldn't go home. But this was his home now and Gilly and Axel, to him, were already starting to feel like family.
