The dorm rooms are complete with three beds; one bunk bed and one separate bed, with an open kitchen, which has one refrigerator, one electric stove, with an oven attached, one stainless steel sink, counter space, a microwave, a toaster and cabinets. There is also an eating area, with room for electronic entertainment, and it is furnished with a low eating table with four cushions. There is also a bathroom with a toilet, sink, a shower.

Raine walked into the dorm room and set her bag down. Well, day one of class was done with now. Though, she still couldn't force herself to be that model student they wanted her to be. She didn't even do that simple essay. She had no issues with english, she just hated schoolwork. She wondered if anyone was rooming with her. Boy, that'd make her day.
Her sarcastic comments cycled through her head as she sorted through her things, making sure everything was put away. She'd have to meditate at some point today. Kestrel was restless, she could feel it, which wasn't okay.

Raine sighed. She was about finished. She wasn't hungry, really. She looked around. Clubs afterwards. If she did have a roommate, maybe there was a strong chance even after lunch they'd go to their club. She locked the dorm room door for now and headed back to her bed, sitting on it and leaning back against her headboard. She took a breath, closing her eyes and muttering somethung under her breath. Suddenly, she was out of the real world around her consciously and blakc ribbons began flowing steadily around her. She could feel Kestrel's disgruntled attitude, which slowly died down as he was forced into sleep for a good hour or so.

Raine stopped, the ribbons slowly fading as the dark magic in the room disappeared and she opened her eyes. Clubs were over? She'd have to stop before her roommate came in. She grabbed her black notebook and recorded the date down and a quick summary of the day concerning Kestrel's activity. Not much. He was weirdly quiet. She shut it and put it in her bag, then closed it. She sighed, sitting on the bottom bunk of the bunk bed and rubbed her head, her hands touching the black furry ears on her head. She put the hat back on afterwards.

{Ayaka enters the dorms.}

After a long walk up to her room, Ayaka unlocked the door, and pushed it open, setting her 4 suitcases full of clothing, Negi pictures, and other living essentials in the living area, with a puff of air escaping from her lips. "Honestly. I'd expect after knowing a Yukihiro was at the school, Headmaster-sama would think about getting some bellboys or so..." Ayaka huffed, tired from climbing stairs with her bags.

She hadn't noticed Raine, and her stuff, as Ayaka walked to the beds, until she noticed something weird. Lights were on. Bags were in the dorm that weren't hers. Stopping in mid action, Ayaka looked where Raine was. "You?! You're in my room..." Ayaka paused. "...Raine-san! What an awful day!"
PostPosted: Fri Oct 08, 2010 4:21 pm

Raine heard voices, just as hse guessed would happen, and looked up at a muttering familiar face. Oh...that girl. Wonderful. She frowned. She already got the hint Ayaka didn't sound like the girl that Raine would consider her best choice for roommate. Actually, no roommate was the best choice, but whatever. She just watched, waiting for the girl to even notice her. Bellboys? Oh god, a pampered one...no wonder. WHat, one of those girls who probably had her a** wiped for her until she was twelve. A bit harsh, but her mood wasn't that great right now. She was lucky she'd just put Kestrel to rest.

She raised a brow as Ayaka finally noticed her. "You're a sharp one." She said with a hint of sarcasm. "But at least we can agree on something." She said, referring to the awful day in realizing they had to live together.

Putting her hands on her hips, Ayaka glared at Raine, her clear green eyes staring into Raine's sapphire eyes. This girl was just like Asuna, annoying, arrogant, and utterly unrefined. "You should consider living with me, Ayaka Yukihiro, a priviledge. It's not often you get to room with a Yukihiro!" Ayaka declared, at the last bit, flipping her long blond hair over her shoulder, her head held high.

"Anyway, we'll just agree that I'll get the separate bed? We might have another roommate, and she might be just like you. That way, the two of you can go and be little brats, while I focus on getting the prize." Ayaka said with an air. Of course, the "prize" for her was Negi, but she was sure, if Raine was anything like Asuna, Raine would certainly roll her eyes and go make a rude comment on Ayaka's refined preferences.

Raine scoffed. "I wouldn't call it a privilege. More like a chore." She said simply in a calm voice. She stared at Ayaka and then turned to grab her school things and toss them into teh higher bunk. "Go ahead, I don't care." She said. She'd already decided she liked the top bunk of the bunk bed anyway. Something about the height. She wasn't sure what it was. "That's a pretty stupid idea, you know, going after your ten year old teacher that way." She said, not oblivious to hwo the girl acted towards Negi in the classroom. She climbed up the ladder and opened her bag now that Ayaka couldn't see the sheathed dagger or black journal in her bag from where she was. "Personally, leave me alone and I won't have a problem with you. But of course if I notice something I wanna say something about, excuse me if I feel like speaking my mind." She said a bit coldly.

((OOC: I love Raine.))

"A chore?!" Ayaka scoffed. "A chore is bothersome. Having to spend 50% of my time seeing you is a chore, Raine-san." She retorted, but had a smug smile on her face when the girl "gave up" her bed. Setting her stuff on the separate bed, Ayaka began to pack, happily humming until Raine made a comment about Ayaka going after her teacher.

Swiveling around, Ayaka was flustered, clearly unexpected Raine's calm comment. "Negi-sensei is NOT just a teacher! He's clearly a gentleman, a man of refined status, and one with manners! All of which you clearly lack!" She said rudely. It was war now.

Turning around back to her own unpacking, Ayaka tore through her bag, unloading lots, and lots, and lots of clothing. Many which she'd probably never use, but she just loved to look at. Take away her clothes, and Ayaka certainly didn't feel like the lady she was. "Well, Raine-san, I'm one who says my mind too. It might just be the only thing I have in common with a child like you." Ayaka said calmly, back to her normal voice. "If I have a problem, I'll say something about it too." She finished, and finished packing, setting Suitcase 1 on the floor. "I've certainly got a problem with that poor posture of yours." Ayaka muttered, and began Suitcase 2.

((I'm proud of what I've done with her XD ))

Raine rolled her eyes. "He's not a man. He's a little boy. If anything you guys are just confusing him." She said even as she stuck a pen in her mouth and pulled out her notebook. She put her pen down, feeling a bit mroe irritation at Ayaka's shouting. "Shut up...not like you even know anything about me except for my name."
She opened up to the back of the page she'd written today's date on, and started to sketch. It had a significance to her, what she drew, though to anyone else it would look like something a loony patient would draw. And I've got an issue with pompous girls, but at least I'll keep that to myself. She thought bitterly. "Whatever." She said in response to her remark about Raine's posture. Her ears twitched underneath her hat. Keep pushing it and that's not the only problem we're going to have... She looked at her drawing. It was honestly a sketch of the scenery of a nightmare she had. Kestrel was there, in the background...She frowned and fell oddly silent for a while, before putting the notebook and pen away. She could already tell this year wasn't going to be a great year for her. Not that she expected one. At this rate, she didn't have a year left anyway. She jumped down from the bed and landed on the floor on her feet, and walked into the kitchen to get something to drink, stepping by Ayaka and those annoying damn suitcases of hers.

"Of course a little girl would see him as a little boy." Ayaka remarked, and held her head up high, a look of arrogance in her eyes. "Only real, mature women would be able to see him as the man that he is." She smirked, and continued to unzip her luggage, and pull out various moisturizing creams, nail polish, the like.

"Your name's enough, Raine-san."
Ayaka simply said, but her mind was at work. 'It's obviously not Japanese. And she certainly didn't notice that the Japanese are polite. Must be...'

"American."
Ayaka chuckled, softer than her usual room-filling laughter. Not that she had anything against America, but Raine irked her so much, that if Raine was American, then Ayaka sure as hell didn't like America.

When Raine was silent, Ayaka looked up from her important work, and examined Raine. A smaller girl in stature, Raine looked like she'd probably beat up Ayaka if she got on her nerves enough. She was also doodling in her notebook. A drawing of her secret admirer? Or was Raine a secret yaoi fan, drawing risque pictures of heated bedroom action! Or closet action. Or whatever "dirty Raine*" drew.

Momentarily curious, Ayaka stepped away from her work, and almost went to take a look at the notebook, when Raine went the kitchen, but stopped. 'That's not what a lady does. A lady doesn't snoop when the subject is in the room.' Looking out of the corner of her eye at Raine, Ayaka released a diabolical grin, turning her head away so Raine wouldn't see it. 'I'll just take a peek when she's at the baths. That is, if she does bathe like a normal human being. She might be so guttural that she doesn't bathe. How horrifying!'

Going back to her task, Ayaka nonchalantly attempted to casually ask Raine about her drawing. "So what were you drawing? A secret lover? Beautiful dresses that I'm sure, you couldn't afford?" She added, although she hadn't meant to put that last part in there. It just innocently "slipped" out.

[*Note: Ayaka's image of Raine's possible dirty drawings, so her image of Raine drawing naughty pictures is called, Dirty Raine. Of course, WE know that Raine isn't dirty. But Ayaka can live in peaceful imagination. ^^]

((I chose the right person for Raine to find annoying. XD This is kinda annoying me too...peaceful imagination unless she really does look at that notebook >.> ))

Raine never did think about where she was from. Hardly relevant, since she'd been all over the world since then. But true, her origins did in fact lead to America. Raine had a bottled water as she walked back into the room and raised an eyebrow. She scoffed softly. "No. Only someone like you would do something like that." She said glancing to the side. She then looked at Ayaka with a sort of disdain in her eyes. "I'd be more cautious what comes out of that pretty little mouth of yours, Yukihiro-san. The biggest difference between you and I isn't our behavior or how we think, it's what we've lived through. I may be lowly in your eyes, but you've got no idea how idiotic and inexperienced you look in my eyes." She said, stepping closer to Ayaka so they were face to face as she spoke. She then stepped to the side and walked past her roughly, grabbing some clothes to change into.
"I'll leave you alone to finish unpacking all your crap." She glared at her. "And trust me. Touch any of my stuff, and I will know." She said before walking to the door and leaving the room, shutting the door with an audible slam. She had to get out of there. Even without risk of losing control of herself, she'd probably hit that girl square in the face if she heard any more talk out of her.

((OOC: If they ever exchange blows...I will laugh outta my seat. XD))

Meeting Raine's eyes with her own, the blond girl's lips twitched slightly, becoming an appreciative smirk. "You're a tough girl persona until the end. Threatening me, sarcastic tones...what have you lived through then? To me, you're gutter debris. It's all our perception, Raine-san. I'll allow you..." Ayaka paused, putting emphasis on the allow, as if Ayaka was permitting a lowly servant to wipe her hand. "...To think of me as an inexperienced idiot. Go ahead. I enjoy the challenge." As Raine moved to the side, and walked past her, Ayaka turned, and continued. "But under every tough girl, there's a refined lady." Ayaka rolled her eyes, and had a superior smile. "Even under all...that." She finished, motioning with her eyes, although Raine probably couldn't see, as Ayaka motioned with her eyes, saying that Raine was "that". "I know, it sounds impossible. But-" She stopped, as Raine walked out of the room, with a slam.

"How unlady-like! As a Yukihiro, it's my duty to help this poor shriveled beggar become a lady. Like...that play! *Pygmalion! She'll be my Eliza, and I'll be her Henry Higgins. She desperately needs the help." Ayaka declared, and looked towards her stuff, and then the door. 'Well, now that she's gone, and she MUST become a lady, we'll have to start with looking at what naughty pictures that girl insists on drawing.' She thought, and with a confident stride, Ayaka moved towards the notebook, and climbed up the ladder, perching herself on Raine's bunk, and her hands moved towards the notebook, but paused.

"Touch any of my stuff, and I will know."

'How could she possibly know? It's not like she has a bomb rigged up to this or something. And if she does...' Ayaka paused in her thoughts, her hand over her heart, her eyes looking out into the distance. 'I, Ayaka Yukihiro, will die for the cause! The cause of turning all filthy girls into beautiful ladies!'

With that self-declaration, Ayaka rummaged in Raine's items, until she found the notebook. With a triumphant grin, *Ayaka opened it, and began to search for the page that Raine was drawing on.

[*Note: Pygmalion is a play by George Bernard Shaw, which takes place in the early 1900s, about a flower girl, Eliza, who is in serious poverty, and sells flowers to obtain money. She's extremely dirty, unsophisticated, and has a strong accent. While selling flowers, Eliza meets Henry Higgins, a professor in phonetics, who says he's recording everything Eliza, and the people surrounding her, says. Higgins can correctly guess the upbringing and education of a person just based on their speaking style.

While meeting Higgins, another character, Colonel Pickering, joins in the conversation. Pickering is a gentleman to all, and he has an interest in phonetics too. He planned to meet Higgins, and the two chat, while Eliza is left, forgotten. But soon, Higgins and Pickering make a bet: that Higgins cannot make Eliza into a lady. And so, the whole play is about how Higgins makes Eliza into a lady, and successfully wins the bet. But there's more to it than that.

If there's some sort of binding on the notebook, or something of the sort, note so in the next post. ^^ I wasn't sure if Raine had some sort of binding or spell to prevent humans from looking at it.]
PostPosted: Sat Oct 09, 2010 11:06 am

((I planned on posting what Ayaka runs across depeding on where you say she looks in the notebook...))

The notebook was just a normal college ruled notebook with no kind of protection, though someone like Ayaka wouldn't be able to pick up on the sense that an enchantment on the object could tell Raine when the last time it was opened. As the girl flipped through the plain black notebook, one could only catch glimpes of several different diary-like entries dated on each page, dated all teh way back to the girl's childhood, though it was being flipped through too fast to really catch anything truly revealing unless you stopped to read it. There was a recently recorded page. The front of it had today's date on it, and barely a sentence written, saying something about virtually no activity from Kestrel, whom Ayaka would have no idea who actually was. Behidn the page, was covered with a pen sketch. It was rushed it seemed, and was of a dark landscape. It looked like a nigt setting, and if you looked carefully, you could recognize Mahora campus landmarks scattered about. The biggest difference was that the landscape was in ruins, like a bomb had gone off, and there was a shadow of a beast in the corner of the page, white areas of no ink looking like the thing's glaring eyes. They really looked like they were staring at whoever was looking at the picture. The buildings were destroyed, and underneath the beast's front claw was a body. It was a fuzzy image, since Raine never could make out who it was despite a dark feeling that she knew who it was already.

Had the dream again before moving dorms...still interpreting it...

But the setting, the beast, the body...it gives me a deeply bad feeling. I've got figure out why I've been having this nightmare more lately. I have to figure things out now...I may not have as much time as I'd hoped, to find out though.

No one knows about the dream...Not even the dean. If I told anyone I wouldn't be allowed to stay here anymore. Strange, that I'd feel so...at home in this stupid place. But I don't want to leave. I can't leave.

If anything else was to be written, it was never jotted down for some reason. The writing was small and scripted. Raine only used that handwriting for her journal, just because.

Ayaka had turned to the most recent entry, not really concerned about the other entries. The other entries hadn't looked like pictures anyway, and words weren't what she was after.

Reading the words of the most current entry, Ayaka looked puzzled. "Nightmare?" She wondered out loud, and then looked at the drawing. It was pretty dark for the girl to interpret what exactly was in there, and there was a fuzzy image near the corner.

Closing the notebook with a thoughtful look on her face, Ayaka slipped it back into Raine's stuff, and climbed down the ladder. Walking back to her suitcase, Ayaka resumed her methodical unpacking, a slow grin creeping up her face. 'Ohohoho~ For a tough girl, she actually LIKES it here. Although...' Ayaka had a sympathetic look on her face, beginning Suitcase 3. 'She seems to be very troubled. Certainly a depressed girl. Gothic, I'd say. Nothing appropriate for a lady, more like an angst-ridden child. Well, we'll have to get rid of those thoughts.'

'And that handwriting! It's too masculine and small. A lady should have legible handwriting and pure thoughts.' Ayaka tsked, looking towards the door. 'She has a lot to learn! Good thing she has such an elegant teacher like me! I'm doing such good for a charity case like her!' Ayaka smiled dutifully, and began Suitcase 4.
