First off, I would just like to say if anyone in this guild lost someone or knows of someone who lost someone in the 9/11 attack then I am sorry for your loss.
It is okay to remember these things and to talk about it, but 9 years later I expected to move on as a country and we have but we haven't. We still harp on about it like it happened yesterday> Personally, I think we should be glad they didn't bomb the White House....wait, then again George Bush's death would have been a benefit, ok thats besides the point. Thousands of people died due to terrorism which is what happens but I kind of hoped by now we would accept this and start taking preventative actions to avoid having this happen again.

9/11 was hard on me. I was in elementary school at the time, and remember coming home and seeing all these horrible things on the television. I remember asking my mom if this was a joke or a prank or something, and her crying and telling me know. My dad was a firefighter at the time, and he and the department he was on, volunteered and went to New York and cleaned and pulled bodies out of the rubble. It was a nightmare for me. I ended up watching the news and crying and having nightmares, thinking it could've been my dad. It could've been someone I loved. I think in that moment, I lost my innocence and some faith in the human race. I do agree with you however, it's okay to remember, but we need to move on. We can't allow ourselves as a nation to be stuck in the past, because that leaves us weak, and when we're weak...that leaves us open for more things to happen.

I remember feeling sad that it happened and loss for the people that had friends and family involved and the firefighters that gave their lives for that tragedy. Also my uncle went over there to volunteer and he was a firefighter. He is retired now. So I relate quite well. And you are correct and thank you for understanding. I do believe it makes us weak as a country. I believe that moving on is better for the country and the people. I know that 9/11 is hard on all of those people involved every year but after 9 years...we gotta let go.

I hope they don't make it a national holiday. There are way worse things that have happened to this country that deserve to be a holiday before 9/11

I remember 9/11....I was in Elementry School when the principal announced that we're having an early dismissal.....When I got home all I saw was the Twin Towers, Smoke coming out of it, People jumping out and then I saw a plane crash right through one of the Tower's.....When I saw that I flipped.......I saw the second Tower get hit and that was enough......I literaly stood there....Watched the whole thing....and I couldn't sleep that night.....I was laying there thinking why the planes crashed through the Tower's....Why people we're jumping out the windows...I had questions popping in my head left and right.....
It won't be the same....And I agree with all of you...We do need to let go but remember what happened.......

I was in high school. I didn't even know what was going on until I got to first period and the T.V. was on and everyone was crowded around it.
We like didn't do ANYTHING in school that day. We just watched the news in every class. Some teachers did like 10-15 minutes of real class then turned on the T.V.
