150 years ago, the Fushito-Davis Corporation, a multinational venture to prevent loss of life in the years leading to the final World War, began to construct the first of their state-of-the-art fallout shelters. At first, the plan was to house only the brightest minds and highest eschelons of government office in the shelters, but when it became apparent that politicians and scientists alike weren't taking heed of the warning signs, or at least not taking them seriously, FDC recruited families and specialists from areas surrounding the shelters, as many as projected numbers said would be safely housed until surface conditions proved to support life once more. not only was this an attempt to preserve professions and life experience in the years to come, but also to preserve heritage.

The War was devestating...Killing billions all across the globe with the impact of nuclear weapons alone. Those not killed in the blasts eventually succumbed to the after-effects: fallout, radiation sickness, nuclear winter...
