The Beginning ~

Calm crimson eyes watched over the crashing of the immaculate waves below. The smell of salt and the sea was heavy here, but his nose was used to it. He absent-mindedly ran a hand through his silver hair. He was standing on a rock protruding from the waters, high enough to keep the waves from reaching him. His gray t-shirt didn't keep away the cold ocean breeze, but it felt good on his skin. He let out a sigh as the war ship neared him. Gripping the sheathed katana in his left hand tightly, he jumped into the air and landed on the boat effortlessly. He nodded to a comrade of his with a smile and proceeded to put on the light armor that was handed to him. The war ship turned and headed off into the sunset.
Several hours passed and the moon sat in the sky, giving off an eerie purplish glow. The warship neared the cavern said to house their enemy. He walked forward and dropped off of the side of the boat, landing in front of the cave.
"Let's go, men." His voice was deep and smooth, with a calm undertone. He walked forward and the soldiers followed him, all holding torches. They walked for several minutes into the cave, and once they could no longer see the entrance, an eerie green mist settled around them. There was a sudden burst of wind and the torches were out. Before he could draw his katana he heard screams.
Light returned, and thousands of torches lined the walls of the cave. His men were scattered around him, brutally murdered.
