[[We're bored and waiting for people to get online...]]

Above the city of Stelton, silver clouds rushed across the sky, gathering around the full moon. In the center of a ring of clouds, the moon faded from a silver glow to a light purple to a brilliant violet aura. Beams of light shot from the bright globe, entering various windows.

Blinking, as the walls swam in an odd purple glow, she lifted her head from the cold concrete floor. Her head throbbed in time with the near by music as the small movement sent a sharp pain down her back. She closed her eyes as she curled around her legs, stretching her spine and relaxing until the aching stopped. Slowly she rolled onto her stomach and as pushed herself into a sitting position she heard her belt rattling the concrete. She looked down at her sagging belt wondering why it was so louse. What? Paws?! She quickly looked at her hands and saw that her silver bracelets no longer ringed she slender wrist, but instead held soft fur tight above another pare of paws. Standing on all fours she turned, her belt falling to the ground, and saw a slender tail floating behind her. Wha- how? What's going on?

Daniel huddled between the roots of a large tree, still trembling in fear from what had just happened. He had awoke in his bed, feeling strange. His stomach itched and he reached to scratch it, only to find his leg scratching, not his hand, and his limb covered in fur, with claws. He panicked and fell out of bed, the thud drawing his aunt to the room. She had screamed after seeing him and grabbed the bat leaning against his wall. He had first tried to talk to her, but found only a growling wimper escaped his mouth. He couldn't talk. He tried fleeing from the weapon, escaping the confining room. His claws slid on the linolium, knocking him into every piece of furnature, and knocking over the crystal trinkets his aunt had collected over the years, priceless things that she treasured more than him. This infurriated her more and she grabbed the nearby shotgun, swiftly loading it and firing blindly. Luckily, he tumbled out the door and rolled down the stairs, smashing through the apartment building's glass door. He ran blindly towards the forest on the edge of the city. This was where he was now, trembling in fear and licking his wounds. Luckily, none were too serious; his thick fur had protected him.

Crouching with her belly on the ground beneath the parked truck Akyma watched the animal control van drive away. They had been chasing her since she had crawled from the downtown ally and set half a city block screaming. Now it was nearing dawn and she was only about an hour away from the city limits. As the lights of the van disappeared around the corner she slid out from under the truck and raced down the road. She didn't know what had happened to her, or how, but the violet moon in the sky above hadn't moved an inch, and rays of light continued to flash down to the city below.

Bright lights sudenly blinded Daniel, and he rose, fleeing from the monsterous noise. Had it been any other night, he would have recognized it as nothing more than a truck driving down the road, but he was terrified and disoriented and so he ran. He crashed through the undergrowth for what seemed like forever before he finally collapsed from exhaustion in a clearing.

[[Note: he's a wolf I think ]]

Her mind felt sick but her body screamed for nourishment as she tore into the flesh of the young rabbit. Akymas manners as a leopard were severely lacking, and she ate scattering bones and covering her face and fore paws in blood. She had no idea how she had been able to catch the rabbit when she had never hunted anything in her life. Maybe it was just luck, or maybe it was that leopards weren't naturally found in this region. All she knew was that her stomach was feeling much better then it had been when she reached the forests edge.

Daniel awoke, the sun glaring in his eyes. Shakily he stood, still scared from the night before. He had hoped it had merely been a dream, but his surroundings begged to differ. Standing, he looked himself over. His lean body was covered in a thick, brownish grey fur. His four legs were long and thin, with large sharp claws. His tail, for yes, he had a tail, was quite bushy and had a mind of its own. His surroundings bombarded his sharp senses, smells flooding his nose, noises his ears. He gave a small wimper and found his throat to be dry. Slowly, he tried to follow the soft scent of water. He could get something to drink, and have a better look at himself if he could find some standing water.

[[He does have an earring in one ear, though I havent decided what it should look like yet]]

Akyma paused in her grooming, tongue between two spread "fingers" as she felt the wind changing. She lowered her paw, now remarkably less bloody, to the ground and lifted her nose. As she breathed deeply the cool breeze brought the scents of the forest towards her. She closed her eyes as the lack of stench soothed her tender senses. It had never occurred to her how much the city stank before this. Opening her eyes, Akyma stood and stretched. A new sent had caught her attention. Her hunger sated, she set out to find another of the necessities of life. Slinking deeper into the brush, Akyma began her search for water.

Slowly, Daniel began to grow accustomed to his new form, and his nerves were calming. His stomach, however, had finally grown tired of being ignored and growled. He hadn't eaten dinner the night before, and this fact had caught up with him. But he didn't know how he was going to get food now. He just wanted to wake up from this nightmare... The smell of water bombared his senses as he emerged from past a large bush, but before he realized it his paws were wet. He had walked straight into the river, lost in thought.

As she emerged from the brush at the edge of the water Akyma could have cried with releaf. Placing her nose mere hares from the waters surface she began lapping up the cool liquid in a very sloppy and unpracticed, not to mention loud and messy, manner.

Dipping his head to lap up some water, Daniel looked around suspiciously. He paused, tongue still extended towards the water as he glimpsed a pale figure upstream. It was a snow leopard. He didn't think there were any in this climate, but he had never been all that great in school. As quietly as he could, which honestly wasn't very quietly, he backed towards the treeline.

Akyma froze as she felt eyes watching her. They didn't feel threatening but they were definitely watching her. Staying as still as only a hunting cat could, she survaied the surrounding woods. There. Down the river a short distance was movement. A wild dog of some kind?

Still going backwards, Daniel sped up. His heart pounded in his chest as he tried to turn to flee, succeeding only in tripping over his feet and tumbling down a small embankment, hitting his head on a tree and blacking out.

As the dog increased it's pase she was that it was a wolf. It seamed odd that there would be a wolf this close to the city. A metallic glint caught her eye as the wolf bolted. A wolf with it's ear pierced? That seemed kind of odd. Experimentally she twitched her own ears and felt her own earrings dancing with the movement. As she rose from the water Akyma heard the sound of flesh hitting wood. Springing down the river, she fallowed the wolf. It didn't take her long to find it. Sprawled in the most ridiculous position she had ever seen a canine in before, she would have laughed if she could. And it did have an earring Cautiously she approached. It didn't move a muscle except for the slow rise and fall of it's breathing. Making a quick decision she sat down in front of him. Maybe I'm not alone in this.
