Part 2 of questioning: Which brings me to another question. How did ya'll first get introduced to drugs, who was it that introduced you, how old were you, and what was your first, your funniest, best or worst experiences? This includes alcohol.

I don't really see anything wrong with recreational drug use sometimes. I just think it is bad when it becomes all someone does, or becomes the focus of their life,. etc. It's one thing to have some fun sometimes, another to be a pathetic burn out.

I don't really like having to pay for anything beyond booze, so i mostly do what is offered to me at parties. Except, I don't like taking anything that "stays with you" like i won't take acid, because i don't like the idea of flashbacks, and i wont take E because it can build up in spinal fluid, and if it is the type someone made in their bathtub, you don't truly know what you are getting.
I like things to affect me only when I take them, within my control, I don't like surprise occurances long after you have taken something.

I don't care if others do them.

But I don't smoke, anything, or do any drugs that are illegal, or really any at all aside from caffiene. I only drink when it suits the occasion, but I don't get drunk. This is the way I've always been, and I get a lot of questions like "Why?". The only answer I have to that, is that I just simply don't want to, its not in my interests.

Drug use is pertinent in Cyberpunk culture.

Work on your reading comprehension. I'm not saying that to be mean, but nowhere did I say acid stays in your system. If you look back, read what I said, and think about it a moment... I used the phrase "stays with you". Something in your memory that gets triggered by looking at something, is definitely something that has "stayed with you".

As for MDMA, most of the time it is cut with different chemicals and/or drugs (or sometimes something being sold as E actually has no MDMA in it), depending on where you get it from, so you can get varying effects/problems depending on what is used. I remember my friend telling me about when he went to the woodstock they had several years ago, and they had to make announcements over the intercom telling people not to take the E that was around, people were collapsing into convulsions and stuff. MDMA can cause your body to regulate temperature so poorly, that there have been cases where it caused hypothermia. It has also been associated with several neurological problems, among other things. None of these could really be controlled by vitamin intake, although, avoiding "rolling to often" would help to minimize the chances of some of the adverse effects. There are alot of studies of MDMA done on animals about the effects of using it, one thing they found by studies done on primates was after just a few days steady use, it caused serotonin nerve terminal damage, that was still there years later. There isn't much in the way of studies on humans, especially on the long term aspect. While, MDMA doesn't actually drain spinal fluid, as many think due to an error in a study done in, I think '93, it does leave residue in the spinal fluid, which will stay for a while after you have stopped using it. It is one of the drugs detectable via spinal tap. I had one friend, who used E once a week or so, once tell me when she got her back cracked by a chiropractor, she suddenly felt like she had taken E. I haven't really seen anything for studies on something like that, so I don't know how much fact or truth was behind her statement.

Buuuuut, thank you, you're totally right, and I don't think I could have put it in a better or more complete way.
All of those points were things that I had already considered, but I was wondering if anyone would come up with anything a little more immaginative.

I'm sure a reason, obviously not for everyone, but some feel doing drugs is 'edgy', and wrong, so it draws them in. Especially in the Cybergoth/whatever 'alternative' style people, because theres quite a bit of them doing it do be 'different' or whatever stupid reason some people have for doing things. But basically, some people feel the need to do drugs because they feel they will be left out if they don't, and since a lot of people in the cybergoth(I'll just use this as an umbrella term for all the different groups) fashion do do drugs so those getting into at first feel they need to. Not really peer pressure(though I'm sure thats apart of it aswell) but monkey-see monkey-do kind of thing.
